See you out in the void
Hey Commanders,
v0.8.0 is now live, and this one is big. The focus this time is on making the AI feel like a real opponent, expanding the tutorial to cover systems new players struggle with, and cleaning up a long list of reported issues.
This is the headline feature. The enemy AI now reads your behavior and adjusts its strategy accordingly. Play aggressively and push early, and the AI will respond with aggression of its own. Focus too much on capturing colonies while leaving your own planets thinly defended, and it will hit those weak spots with sudden raids. The goal is to make every match feel different depending on the decisions you make. No more predictable patterns.
The tutorial now covers areas that were previously left to you to figure out on your own:
Technology development steps
Tactical Pause feature
Spacecraft Lab
Trade Menu
Colony capture mechanics
I also rebuilt the underlying tutorial system so steps display more reliably and flow better.
Outposts no longer take friendly fire damage while engaging enemy cargo ships. You can now take down enemy logistics near your outposts without hurting your own infrastructure.
Multiple selection for cargo ships
Filter option in the Ships Selection Menu
Clearer enemy recognition through updated UI
Heavier class ships have been resized for better visual impact
Fleet Menu improvements
Spawn gathering info window for non-focused planets
A big round of fixes this time, including:
Tech Research timing and completion issues after loading saved games
Station Upgrade research freeze
Fleet Commander mission not triggering
AI resource consumption and Super Weapon rollback issues
Station controls, menu visibility, and sensors after destruction or repair
Captured Ancient Vessels returning to the home planet instead of staying at their current location
Player cargo ships continuing to build after AI captures the colony
As always, thank you for the reports, the feedback, and the time you put into the game. Dynasty Protocol keeps getting better because of this community. Keep the feedback coming; the next patch is already in progress.
See you out in the void.
Hey Commanders,
v0.7.0 is now live! This update focuses on mission system improvements, a new tactical pause mechanic, and a solid round of bug fixes based on your feedback.
Missions now follow a sequential chain progression, giving you a clearer sense of purpose and direction as you build your empire. Each mission flows into the next, making your objectives feel more connected and meaningful throughout your playthrough.
I've also added a Tactical Pause System; you can now pause the game mid-battle to assess the situation, issue orders, and plan your next move without the pressure of real-time combat. A long-requested feature, and I'm glad it's finally in.
Quick tip: The default key for Tactical Pause is P, but you can remap it anytime from the Settings menu.
Missions now have dedicated images for better visual presentation
Mission chain UI has been polished for a cleaner, more readable experience
Cadet Protocol difficulty has been tuned down to be more welcoming for newer players
Each active task now shows a progress status indicator, so you always know how far along you are
Tactical View and Build View transitions are smoother and more responsive

I'm excited to announce the Planetary Defense Update for Dynasty Protocol! This major update introduces a comprehensive defense building system that will change how you protect your empire.
Fortify your planets with three new defensive structures:
Sentinel Defense Platform - Your first line of defense. Equipped with rapid-fire kinetic weapons, this automated turret provides essential perimeter protection against light enemy forces.
Bastion Defense Platform - Heavy firepower meets advanced targeting. These armored stations deliver devastating attacks and offer robust protection for your vital installations.
Citadel Defense Platform - The ultimate fortress. With maximum armor plating and overwhelming firepower, Citadels provide unmatched protection for your most critical structures.
Take direct control of your defensive networks! The new control system allows you to manually target specific enemy ships, giving you tactical precision when defending your territories.
Important: Defense platforms follow planetary ownership. Conquer a planet, and its defenses become yours. Lose control, and those same platforms will turn against you!
Both your home planet and conquered colonies can now be fortified with defensive structures. Plan your defenses carefully - each platform placement could be the difference between holding territory and losing it to enemy forces.
Enhanced ship generation during colony rebellions
Refined UI elements for better readability
Improved ship directive system for smoother fleet management
I've addressed numerous issues, including weapon targeting accuracy, retreat mode responsiveness, mission UI problems, and various save/load bugs to ensure a more stable experience.
The battleground has evolved. Will you build an impenetrable fortress, or will your defenses crumble under enemy assault?
Download the update now and defend your empire!

I'm excited to share a major update that introduces deeper strategic elements to Dynasty Protocol, including the new crew system, along with several quality-of-life improvements based on your feedback.
The highlight of this update is the comprehensive crew system. Each warship now has its own crew with individual morale and experience levels that directly affect combat performance. Experienced crews provide better weapon accuracy, faster repairs during docking, and reduced hydrogen consumption. Crew morale also plays a crucial role; higher morale means lower oxygen consumption and better overall performance.
The morale system is dynamic and reactive to battlefield events. When you lose ships in battle, the morale of other crews on the same planet decreases, while destroying enemy ships boosts the attacking crew's morale. This creates an interesting strategic layer where protecting your veterans becomes even more important.
I've also added the FTL Jump Menu, allowing you to select formations and spacing between ships before jumping, giving you more tactical control over fleet deployment.
The Auto Assign feature for cargo ships has been significantly improved - now you only need to set it up once from your station or outpost, and all newly constructed cargo ships will automatically be assigned to miners.
Additionally, a new contextual tips system has been implemented to help guide you through certain situations, like what to do when fuel or oxygen runs out.
I've made numerous improvements based on community feedback. The weapon accuracy system now requires proper maneuvering and experienced crews for maximum effectiveness. Ship construction times and station module build times have been reduced for faster setup. Camera zoom has been improved with better smoothing and increased max zoom for tactical overview. Cargo ships are now larger and more visible, and repair times during docking have been decreased.
This update also addresses several important issues, including AI ship planet assignment problems, save file image sizing, tutorial restart issues, and various UI-related bugs.
Thank you for your continued support and feedback. Your input has been invaluable in shaping these improvements. I'm constantly working to make Dynasty Protocol better, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this update!
