DUNEBORN HAS NOT BEEN ABANDONED
Over the last few months, the project has been quieter than it should have been. I understand that this can create uncertainty, especially when players start wondering if the game is still being worked on.
That is why this announcement is important.
DuneBorn is still in development, and this update marks a new stage for the project. The goal from now on is to be more transparent about what is being worked on, what has changed, which systems are being improved, and where the game is heading next.
This post brings together three main things:
A major new update for the game.
The official roadmap for upcoming development.
A new feedback tool to bring the community closer to the development process.
OFFICIAL ROADMAP
Together with this update, I am also sharing the official DuneBorn roadmap.
The goal of the roadmap is not to promise fixed dates, but to show the current development direction and which areas of the game will be explored more deeply in future updates.
The current update focuses on one of the game’s most important pillars: vehicles. After that, the next steps are aimed at expanding systems that already exist in the game, such as crafting, resources, missions, enemies, building, map progression, and long-term player goals.
Some priorities may change based on testing, development needs, and especially community feedback.
MAIN FOCUS OF THE UPDATE: VEHICLE CUSTOMIZATION
The main focus of this update is the new vehicle customization system.
Vehicles are one of the core parts of DuneBorn. They are not just a way to move around the map, but an important part of survival, exploration, extraction, and player progression.
With this update, vehicles now have much more depth.
The customization system now works with modularity across several vehicle parts, allowing internal and external changes that directly affect how the vehicle behaves.
Main additions include:
Modular vehicle parts.
Engine adjustments.
Suspension adjustments.
Transmission adjustments.
Vehicle handling and behavior changes.
Vehicle color customization.
Mission adjustments for the new customization model.
The goal is to give players more control over their vehicles and make vehicle progression feel more meaningful throughout the game.
P2P MULTIPLAYER AND SERVER LIST
Another important change in this update is the new P2P multiplayer system.
Extraction maps can now be played with up to 6 players using the new P2P connection model and server list. To make this possible, several parts of the game had to be adjusted and optimized for the new multiplayer structure, including save game optimization and general game optimization.
This is an important foundation for improving the multiplayer experience and making it easier for players to access game sessions.
IMPROVEMENTS, FIXES, AND ADJUSTMENTS
In addition to the main systems, this update also includes several improvements to make the experience more stable, clear, and comfortable.
Main changes:
Updated the project to engine version 5.7.
Fixed sound controller influence affecting HUD action SFX.
Added the “Invert Y” option for mouse/look controls.
Revised the control mapping screen, especially for gamepad.
Revised the scorpion boss damage, resistance, hit detection, HP curves, and cooldowns.
Added a “Craft All” button to avoid requiring players to repeatedly click the “+” button.
Added ammo sales to the shop NPC.
Adjusted ammo economy so crafting remains cheaper than buying, without making buying feel too punishing.
Prevented the worm from detecting or attacking players inside the extraction container.
Added missing images for vehicle parts, accessories, and other customization items.
Adjusted current missions to support the new customization model.
Added new SFX.
Added localization improvements for some remaining untranslated words and interface text.
Fixed an issue where character customization was not always loading correctly in extraction maps.
Optimized the save game system.
Added general game optimization to better support the new P2P multiplayer structure.
These changes are part of a larger process of refining the game, both technically and in terms of gameplay.
NEW COMMUNITY FEEDBACK SYSTEM
A new external feedback website has also been created for DuneBorn.
The idea is simple: to centralize player reports, suggestions, criticism, and comments in one place.
On the website, anyone can submit feedback anonymously. Other players can also vote and comment on existing suggestions.
This helps development a lot, because it makes it easier to understand the biggest pain points in the community, which problems are being repeated, and which ideas matter most to players.
The goal is to use this tool to make better decisions and be more precise with future updates.
You can use the website to send:
Bug reports.
Improvement suggestions.
Content ideas.
Balance feedback.
General feedback about the game experience.
Feedback link!
If you have played DuneBorn and have something to say, this is one of the best ways to help the project.
WHAT COMES NEXT
This update is an important step because it strengthens one of the main foundations of the game: the vehicle.
From here, the goal is to keep expanding DuneBorn with clearer updates, better direction, and more active involvement from the community.
Thank you to everyone who has played, sent feedback, reported issues, or simply followed the project so far.
DuneBorn is still alive, still evolving, and there is still a long road ahead.
See you in the wasteland.
