It was hard, tedious, took too much time, but most importantly - hard! But here we are, celebrating our long years of procrastination... LOCALIZATION

Translations to both languages were provided to us by our amazing fans! They worked long and hard, broke the game a few times, misinterpreted our jokes, but in the end... They did it!! HALLOWEEN PATCH

Today we are releasing a tiny patch! It contains new voice lines, some new graphics and YOUR JOKES! From the contest!! That’s right - we finally did it! No need to thank us. The patch is going to stay live ‘till Monday (November 5), then we gonna roll it back and prep the Christmas patch!

LOCALIZATION

Some time ago we promised you localization news and here they are: Localization is now... open! What does that mean? Well, exactly that. Go into the game’s folder, look for the “Localization” folder and do whatever you want with it!! Add new languages (copy “EN” folder and rename it to something else) or change all current phrases to “I’M GROOT” or something, or... OR! Add new jokes!! Yeap, you can do even that!... Not voiced jokes, but rather those text thingies at the end of the puzzle! Add as much as you like, and share your file with us! P.S. It’s not a replacement for proper localization - we were preparing files for translators and decided to make them public.

• Getting Completionist achievement should be easier - you don't need cups, that aren't visible.
• Cheaters achievement won't randomly trigger. You need to use special tactics!!
• Sounds on the car puzzle won't leak on the next puzzle
• Ending on the Pack10 won't show 2 screens at the same time
• Subtitles on/off now properly save its state upon exit
• You won't find new JigSaw pieces after collecting all 20
• And few other minor fixes.

PATCH NOTES

• Fixed some minor gramatical errors
• Fixed kind of a big thing with the voice - it was causing a variety of problems, like "no ending found" or ... others.
• Save files are less likely to be corrupt on the ALT+F4 or unexpected exit. Now it uses futuristic system of doing backups and stuff.

For the last couple of days we’ve been trying to run two contests on our Discord server, where we already gave away a couple of FREE COPIES of the game on Steam. And it’s going kinda well! LOCALIZATION

Now onto the Bad news!! On the day of the release, June 1st, “Dude, Stop” will have only 1 language: English voice over and English subtitles/UI. We sincerely apologize to everyone who was waiting for this feature, and for false promises from our side. We hope to make it up to you shortly after the release. The reason is that we cramped too much text and voice into the game and in the end we had no time to translate it before the release. But worry not! Localization IS available in our game, with all the “change language” options and fully working implementation. We just need to get ourselves a proper translator and some time. GAME IS READY *question mark*

As you know (or don’t) the biggest task left to do was the Audio! All the sounds, music, voice effects... it affects mood and atmosphere and is basically the most important thing in the game. And it’s kind of ready! And by “kind of” I mean that it’s totally playable! Stuff is missing here and there, and some places require a couple fixes, but we should be able to mend it all before the release...

THE RELEASE DATE *dot dot dot*

If the game is playable, and the Audio is ready, then what now?! Should we announce the release date?! We totally should! But we won’t. ...okay, okay, now calmly move the mouse away from the dislike button - there are couple reasons for us not announcing the date: we still need the final trailer, a couple more playtests and do the other... stuff. So no release date for now. Sorry :( Just to be clear: the game won’t be out next week. Or the week after that... Basically, we need more time to prepare. But when the time comes, you’ll be the first to know.

THE VOICE IS OVER

Yes, it finally happened! After couple of weeks of recording sessions with our angry screaming voice actor, we placed a stamp of approval on the audio files we received, and we even did a little bit more - we invited two more VAs! That makes it THREE Voice Actors in the game!!... Two of them have really episodical roles, but still - it’s a thing to brag about. So be excited! (That’s an order.) Oh yeah, almost forgot - after we recorded everything, we also implemented everything. So it's not only gameplay, it's also the narrator speaking, the whole package, the glorious goodness. AS IF IT WAS AN ALMOST COMPLETE GAME NOW! Whoo-hoo!! Let's celebrate with one more year of development. (jk)

...did we mention that we are still waiting for the sounds and music? Oh yeah, we still are. That’s the one and only thing we are waiting for. We are also researching localizations (since the text is over-voiced and there is no turning back now), and calculating how many dictionaries we need to read before we can do it ourselves... Or maybe we’ll find someone. Maybe. Meanwhile, we decided to do a proper landing page for the game. It’s gonna have cool art, some Dude-Stop-ish buttons, and should be a cool website to NEVER share with your friends. #ReversePsychology

THE VOICE IS BACK

As you can see (hear?), we brought back the same guy that was in the trailer! And he is as angry and as funny as before!! Right now we are in the middle of recording the script and it goes amazingly fast. We have already did a few sessions and there’s only a couple more until the end. Then on to implementing all of it into the game.

EARLY 2018

Yep, the teaser actually has “Early 2018” in the end, and somewhere within that range is a date we are aiming at. Voice implementation is the second-to-last step right now and it is going ahead really good. So... if nothing changes and a freaking meteorite does not land into our servers, we should not miss the date this time :D

IS IT A GAMEPLAY VIDEO?

In case someone gets scared that the teaser doesn’t look like a game - you are right, it does not. It’s not a gameplay video. “Dude, Stop” has the same visuals, art, mood and voice, but with actual puzzles and stuff to click. This video is just to showcase the voice in a funny, Dude-Stop-ish way :)
