Phew. So. Ermmm. I'll be brief because my butt is literally on fire. Most of this update is about languages. You might think it's a trivial matter, but it isn't. It took me ages to find a translation company willing to not only translate the game to this many languages but also even touch adult games. Then, of course, it was a matter of money. And I am not really sitting on a gold pile. So after months, I narrowed down one company (who, of course, told me they will work with me under the condition I will never disclose their name because of bad PR T_T).

I hope the translation is good. It might not be much for Jeff Bezos or something, but it sure had put a dent in my bank account.

Oh, and you know, after I got the translations, I discovered something. Something that... ummm. Well, made my entire blood circulation system shut down for like 3sec.

I DON'T HAVE THE LOCALIZATION MODULE IN THE GAME.

The entire text was in code. You can put that in code.

So guess who had to sleep 4h a day for the past 2 weeks to rewrite THE ENTIRE GAME so you can have various languages...?

Yeah. Interface, each text, each dialogue, each story part, each chat. Everything. Everything had to be rewritten.

Imagine you are renovating a house. And you're done with everything, and you put all the furniture in already, and then you're like...

...WAIT. I forgot to put the new floor.

So you have to pull all the furniture out AGAIN, fix the floor, fix the mess.

I will have nightmares because of this for months to come.

And so, the Horny Collective grew, and now I have plenty of mommies and daddies!~👪

Horny Collective is a lewdy band of erogame devs who just had enough of the nasty publishers and other middlemen, trying to leech off our hard work, semen I mean sweat, and tears.

So we've been, like, what Publishers has what we do not? Reach.

How do they get the reach? By having many games, more than any developer can push out on their own.

So we've been like, hey how about we unite under the same banner and have our own publisher-like thingy, with blackjack... and h00kers!

We are not corporate rats or power and money-hungry companies. We are developers. Driven by the passion and joy of making cool stuff.

In 2026. Time for some ummm confession. Amelia, even on its lower and slowest day, earns me enough so I could sit on my ass and do nothing for days upon days. Watch anime, play games, read books, and sleep, and do all the things I never had time, money, or energy for. And you know, before I started working on the game, that would be a dream come true. Finally, play the game of Life on easy mode, for once. But there is one problem. Ok, I lied, a few of them. Let's start with the biggest.

You.

Yes. You. You are my biggest problem. Because you are alive. Because you love Amelia. Because you support me each step on my path. Because you DM me over and over. Read and thumbs up each silly news I write. You protect me. You support me. You make me feel like no one ever did. Sorry, I am fully aware how cringe this sounds. But oh well, screw you - this is how I feel, and if someone doesn't like it, you know where the doors are. What I am trying to say is - I care. I cared a lot.

But that was a very selfish care you know. I started making the game because dooooh - I wanted to make the game. It was not meant for YOU. At least, well, not initially. I wanted to create something, get myself busy. Make the sad voices go away. Keep myself occupied.

None of this was meant to happen. None of it. A silly and wonky passion project that was supposed to rise and fall, just like thousands of others. My tiny footprint on this globe. For the sake of having one. So when I die, someone could stumble upon my game and say, "hey, there was a girl named Laura". That's all I ever dared to dream of. I swear. But as the game grew bigger, so did my dreams. And with you all coming and staying... my dreams could be selfish... no more. So I was sitting and thinking hard and...

You know, there is actually a trick for money. You can try earning more by earning more. Or earn more by... spending less and being able to afford more.

It's an idea that's been sitting in the cooker since I met Vilehead. And it actually makes sense. By moving to Poland, I will be able to afford both a decent life and still have enough money to expand the game or even make another one. I'll be able to hit both birds with one stone. No more sacrificing one for the other. Of course, I still have plenty of details and paperwork to set up. I have only been outside my country like 2-3 times in my entire life.

So this is a huge and scary change. But hey, new year - new Laura. Being 25 years old is... about time I get out of my comfort zone. I think? If not now, then when...? Time to be the Brave Laura. The problem is - all I ever knew is how to be a coward. I am just so scared. But I know I need the change. Or maybe the change needs me...?

Sorry that this week's update is not so "flashy" T_T I underestimated how much time storywriting takes. I write it, then I edit it, then I correct it, then I delete it all cuz it's cringe or just leaves me unsatisfied, then I remake it, and so on. TL;DR writing takes A LOT of time and effort, but can't really be displayed on screenshots or gifs. :< And then to record VO for it is another week of work. But trust me - I've spent each and every single bit of free time I had to work on it. I am really having fun! Shame it's just not all that much... visual. As I mentioned in past updates, I am focusing 90% of my horsepower on the story. Once it's done - expect further expansion of the game with clothing, hairstyles, new locations, accessories, positions, and all other good stuff ^-^ Also, wohow 2.0 Amelia just reached 100 reviews, and my DevPage has over 1100 Followers! :D (Insert happy Laura noises) In other news, I am slowly building a list of alternative places I can expand to. This much is all I could do in such a short amount of time. I am sorry to disappoint T_T Truth to be told: the game was not ready. But if you're reading this, you know why. I do see the negative reviews. I read all of them. I do not reply because, well, quite frankly majority of them are true. Arguing with them is pointless. Because they are right. People spent money thinking they were gonna get more content, and they got less. Hence, why Dreams of Amelia has a heartbreaking 24.2% refund rate. Literally 1 out of 4 people who bought the game wanted their money back. And kind a rightfully so. To give you a perspective on how huge that 24.2% is -> the official Steam average is 5%, and other devs told me it's more ~10%. Yet I have 2.5 times that. That is enough to influence the game's visibility and reach. So I do the only thing I know I can - I keep expanding the game as planned. Hoping one day they might come back. That, in their eyes, I will have my own Redemption Arc. I would REALLY advise people to play the Demo BEFORE they buy the game. That IS the entire reason behind Demo. That's why I keep it going and maintain two versions of the game instead of one.

(っ◔◡◔)っ 💬 What's next? 💬

- As the baseline for story mode is in there -> I will now expand on that and make you able to actually have a conversation with Amelia. - Your progression in Story mode will unlock stuff in the sandbox. So in one hand you have something worthwhile, but in another... You can hop for some quick fun *^_^* - More clothing, dresses, toys, locations, and positions. You can check the Roadmap. There's really A LOT in there, and I am really willing to add everything or almost everything.

(っꈍ◡ꈍ)っ 💋 Shopping time! 💋

As I said multiple times, I try to reinvest everything the game earns back into the game. And, well, some stuff is cheap and other - quite expensive. I would like to uphold the tradition of my transparency, so here's a list of where the money goes from now on: 1. Debts and Loans Surprise, surprise! I was not able to cover all the costs of developing a video game from my salary (especially as I have been unemployed for the entire summer T_T), so guess what? Ofc! I had to set up an OnlyFun account and now I am playing with my flat chest for money wohow! ...NOT. XD I did what swarms of people did before me and... had to borrow money. :< The bank lady, after checking my income, gave me a very long stare and said all she could offer was a credit card... so I took that. But that was not really sufficient, so I had to borrow some more from a friend and my brother. So the moment the first paycheck from Valve comes (in around a month), it has to cover the loans and debts. I know, this doesn't sound like a good PR move to say that, but it's the truth. I am broke right here and now. Sorry :( Bank is one thing, but the people from who I borrowed money from knew what the money went for. They trusted me and want to sponsor my dreams. I cannot show my back to them. Just as I cannot do to you. 2. Buy or rent VR Headset I did some research thx Steam stats from here: https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/ {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45585362/d915faab690721e37ccd0583539a2e9cc2c18d55.jpg And oh boy, I didn't know there are so many o.o Ofc I cannot afford to buy ALL of them, so I need to cut some corners. Oculus Quest 2 is a must-have. My reasoning is that if something is gonna work on Quest 2, it will also work on Quest Pro and Quest 3. I might go for Valve Index, because it would look weird to be on Steam, have VR support, and not support the official VR headset of the platform. But the price is steep... Maybe I'll get 2nd hand one. But I am sure I want to have both Wired and Wireless VR. I want to be able to walk around Amelia's room, and I heard you do too. 3. Steam Deck Yeah, I know, I know - I don't have one. Hard to make a game for hardware you don't have, you know. At first, I thought, hey, it's just a normal PC, but handheld. Oh, how naive I was. The current pipeline is that I build for the Deck, and then send the build to a friend of mine. Wait for him to come back from work. Check the game. Go back to me. Some videos, some screensharing - it's really a Q&A nightmare. @_@ I am not a huge fan of Steamdeck (hey, it's heavy and I am weak, ok? >_<) but I now fully understand why one of the most popular reviews... is pointing that out. https://steamcommunity.com/id/iEatDust/recommended/3411670/ 4. Assets Props are cheap and plentiful. The problem is with animations and clothing. I am a bad animator. I would really love for someone far better to remaster my animations. Oh, and did you notice the rags Amelia has been wearing, like the only clothes she has? This is because I rigged that myself. 5 days of full-time work down the drain. Yea, this is how much it takes me. I would love to pay someone to do that for me and ofc do it better than I do. It is not because I am lazy, but I just understand my limits, and I want Amelia to have a nice dress and stuff, which I, on my own, cannot deliver yet. 5. Voice over Not gonna lie, the initial lines Amelia had were tiny and short. So I literally "paid" with two bottles of the actress's favorite wine for them. But things have changed now. The story will only keep expanding, and I want every single line of text that leaves Amelia's lips to have a VO. And I want the voice of Amelia to be properly paid for. "Job's done - pay's due", as they say. Oh, and do not ask for the actress's details. You will never learn them. I am taking that with me to my grave. That was part of the deal. She didn't mind giving Amelia her voice, but in her line of work, the fact that she did that would have major negative repercussions on her career and IRL. Believe it or not, most people are not that open-minded when it comes to lewd stuff. Hence, e.g. Mastercard/Visa/Collective Shout catastrophe we are suffering right now. Hmmm, what else? Nothing, I guess, as the list above already voids most of my earnings from the game for now XDD

Thank you. Again. Yea. You might be fed up with me thanking every update, but I am just that grateful. My initial dream of working on the game full-time is yet to come true, but this is a start. A bumpy one, but oh well. So is life. Also, terribly sorry I have remained a bit silent over the past days. Hi guys. Phew. Didn't expect another announcement from me so soon, eh? Well, I am trying to make it up a bit now. Thank god I set the release right before the weekend, so I can have time for all of this. I cannot imagine how I would get by in the middle of the week. So let's talk business first. If you have not been living under a rock all this time, you are perfectly aware of the Mastercard/Visa/Collective Shout thingy. Some weird evil power clash and Valve/Steam got caught in the crossfire, with me and other devs (and you, of course) as hostages. And for the time being, we have no choice but to comply with the new reality. The problem is: the new situation is very vague, and the rules of this weird game are not really set in stone. So, from Valve, other devs here is a list of "Do's" and "Don't's" I am currently aware of: Don't's: - An adult-only game cannot have Early Access. - Video games cannot have adult-only elements. Those elements have to be shipped separately as DLC and reviewed by Steam. - Adult-only video games cannot have Adult-Only content expansion. Any NEW lewd content has to ship as DLC. Do's: - I can patch bugs. - I can add Quality of Life updates - I can add new content as long as it is not new Adult-Only content How this works in practice: Example 1: I add VR version of the game -> good. Example 2: I add a new fun position to the existing Amelia model -> good. Example 3: I want to add a new lewd model -> not good. Have to be via DLC. Example 4: I want to add a new BDSM dungeon mode to the game -> not good. Have to be via DLC. Example 5: I want to add a new toy that works exactly as the one already in the game -> good. Example 6: I want to add more storyline to the game as long as it's not spicy -> good. Example 7: I want to add support for extra wide-screens -> good. Example 8: I want to add controller support -> good. See where this is going? TL;DR: I will keep working and expanding the game, even on Steam. But some stuff might be either delayed (because they have to be reviewed by Valve) or will be missing (if Valve judges them inappropriate and rejects them).

Expect a small patch within up to 6 days. I do not have the means to expand the game too much on such short notice, but I will be: - Fixing some bugs - Bringing some QoL stuff - You will also get full support for controllers (Easier to take your Steamdeck with you than haul your entire PC - for those who don't live alone *wink wink*) - Steam Achievements - Steam Leaderboards - Community Items/Point Shop/Trading Cards (they just got unlocked!) I might be able to do something more, but I do not want to make promises I am not certain to deliver.

First of all, THANK YOU!!! Thank you all. Even those of you who left negative reviews. I understand where you are coming from. The game is supposed to be Early Access. I was not ready to go Premium, and now I am in "Fk Around & find out" timeline T_T. For my defence, I really had no other choice. It was either this or drop Steam. As I promised, I will keep expanding the game for as long as I can afford it. The entire Road Map I posted months ago is still what I am aiming for. That being said, when the Steam release was far from disaster, it also... well. It's not enough for me to quit my daily job and work full-time on Amelia :( I am sorry. I am not a dev team. I am not a company. I am just a girl making lewd stuff after work. I cannot take the risk, cross my fingers, and hope it's gonna work out somehow. I don't have sponsors. I don't have a rich boyfriend or parents. There is no emergency plan. If I take the leap of faith and fall, I will feel the full impact. There won't be any cushion to save me. Understand this, please. Help is not coming. That being said, there is nothing in the world that I desire and dream of more than being able to work full-time on the game. Trust me. Just as the game name is Dreams of Amelia, this is the Dreams of Laura. It brings me joy. It makes me happy. It makes the sad voices go away for a moment. But I am not quite there... yet. ~ The price of the game and my stance about discounts ~

Some time ago, I really wanted a game. The game price was 35 bucks. And that was a lot for me at the time. But the game was really cool, and the developer was awesome. So I chipped in, got the game for full price. Even left a review because I heard this helps the game in some way. Two days after that, the game went on a custom sale and the price went down to $4.99. Was I scammed? No, of course. But it did make me feel like a loser T_T I said to myself that if I ever, by any miracle, make a game, I will never spam discounts and maintain a reasonable margin for the few I will run. So the base price of Dreams of Amelia is $14.99. And will NEVER, ever go beyond -33%. Regardless of the platform. I cannot imagine weaving a bond with fans and followers if I juggle the prices up and down. I am aware I might be losing some chunk of revenue, but I have really tiny material needs, you know hehe. And I like things to be predictable. And I hope some of you will share the same sentiment. Sorry if I'll make someone angry, but I believe being transparent is worth more T_T

I am stunlocked how fast Amelia is gaining speed, and I start to worry, do I really deserve the attention, and am I up to task ._. I am not saying that for you to come and say "there there". No. I am honestly worried. As I said many times by now, I came in with no expectations. No, scratch that. I did actually come with some. I expected ppl will boo me out of the milky way, I'll get depressed, put this entire game making on the pile with all my other broken dreams, then I will proceed being depressed for couple of months and then I will get over it and reverse back to my usual generic NPC mode. But then this happened. You happen. And for some reason, you won't let me go. You stick to me like a warm blanket, covering me in a cocoon of happy. And for the first time in my life, I feel I am worth something. I do not know if my game will fulfil your dreams and hopes. But I know that I will do everything in my power, drain all my resources, to provide you with the best I am capable of. Time will tell if my "everything", has been "enough". Thank you! A week ago, no one knew about me or Amelia. A week ago, I was your friendly NPC, you just passed by on the street walk. I was making Dreams of Amelia, fully prepared that there are huge chances I will simply bounce off the harsh reality. I was expecting many things. But never, even for a brief moment, would I dare to think I'll be met with so much warmth, friendship, and support. I salute you. And I will repay the trust and faith you put in me by making Amelia as great as possible. I am giving my all. Of course, reality check click click! - I still have a regular job.
