Full Steam announcements and update articles for this title.
We know many of you are waiting for the release of our next level, HighWay, and we want to share a small update on its current status.
At the moment, we are still working on the level and polishing the game around it. HighWay has already taken more time than we originally expected, but instead of rushing to meet a deadline, we want to make sure it reaches the level of quality we are aiming for.
Our goal is to make this level noticeably better than our previous ones. We are continuing to grow as developers, and we want the project to grow with us.
Because of this, we are not ready to announce an exact release date yet. We will take as much time as needed to make sure HighWay becomes the experience we originally envisioned.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. HighWay is coming soon, and we will share more when it is closer to completion.
Achievements are working again and can now be earned in Story Mode.
Players who have already completed the game without receiving the achievements they deserved can use a special key combination: ALT+T. Press it in the main menu to unlock all achievements. This feature is temporary and will be disabled in one week.
Hello everyone!
After a short quiet period, the developer has prepared a new update. We continue improving the game based on your feedback and suggestions.
Here are the improvements included in this update:
Reworked the game's voice acting (special thanks to Zachary Brown for the great work).
Reworked character movement physics. Controls are now much more responsive, even at high speeds.
Reworked the retro effect. It now better resembles CRT screens and improves immersion into the aesthetic. The retro frame (4:3) was also updated to apply correctly.
Improved vegetation rendering system. This should fix crashes on some systems.
Thank you for your support!
The next update will add a new level for the HighWay relax mode (it is not related to the story mode, the story is finished and will not be changed).
You can also take part in the project's development: join our Discord server and share your ideas for new worlds and levels. A player vote for the next level will be held soon!
We want to try a new activity and develop the game together with you!
We have a channel called #level-ideas available on our Discord.
There, you can suggest your ideas for future levels. The ideas that win the vote (the voting itself will take place later as a separate event) will be implemented in the game, with credit given to the author of the idea.
But before submitting your idea, please make sure to read the rules first!
Dear players! As promised, we’ve added retro-style settings, adjustable running speed, and also introduced a number of fixes and improvements. Please take a look at the list of changes:
Added retro-style mode (available on first launch and in the game settings). When the retro frame is enabled, we fully change the game’s render resolution (on some systems this may improve performance). However, we expect that technical issues may occur on certain hardware. If you encounter any problems, please let us know.
Added adjustable running speed (Yes, we hear you—now you can sprint through the maps like a ninja :) )
Fixed portals between levels (artifacts in doorways and an incorrect portal in the Basketball Gym level)
Added new loading screens
Fixed UI scaling for different resolutions
Added the ability to switch between DX11 and DX12 (If you experienced rendering issues, it’s recommended to try DX11 and don’t forget to restart the game)
Improved vegetation rendering (This should fix rendering on Intel GPUs, as well as switching to DX11; however, since we don’t have such hardware, we can’t guarantee the result, so we appreciate your help and feedback in the Steam community and discussions)
We sincerely thank you for your love for our game and for your patience with its shortcomings.
At last, we finally found the time to say thank you to all our players for your support and kind words in the reviews!
We understand that we haven’t done everything perfectly, but we will continue developing our game further. And now, as we are building our own Discord community, we’re excited to keep improving the game with maximum focus on our players.
That’s why we want to try something we’ve never done before:
In addition to our own ideas for new levels, we’d like to hold a player vote based on ideas suggested by the players themselves and bring the winning idea into the game. This way, with our help, you’ll be able to create the best possible version of the dreamcore experience.
We’d also like to share a small roadmap for the coming months:
Small update: retro-style visuals and gameplay improvements
Collecting player ideas in our Discord channel (already open)
New large Highway level (May–June)
Player voting for the next level
Announcement of a new game?
We are a very small team of just two people, with most of the development actually handled by one person. That’s why your support means so much to us.
Sincerely, Vladislava, Ankoku.
Dreamcore: Rabbit Hole has officially been released!
Created by one person in Unity, this project has finally seen the light of day.
We hope that all our hard work will be rewarded by your emotions from the game (hopefully only positive ones)!
Please also don’t forget to leave reviews for the game!
Dreamcore: Rabbit Hole is not over yet. The rabbit hole goes deeper than it seems at first glance:
Additional locations will also appear in Relax Mode!
