Hello everyone!
First of all, we want to say thank you.
When we released Draw of Destiny, we had no idea whether anyone would spend more than a few minutes playing it. Seeing players already invest several hours into the game has been incredibly motivating for us.
Seeing players spend hours exploring Draw of Destiny means the world to us. Some of you have already played for 200+ minutes, and others have invested many hours into the game during its very first days in Early Access.
As indie developers, it's an incredible feeling to see people enjoying something we've spent so much time creating.
We're already working on new features, more cards, improved progression, additional statistics, balance changes, and many more updates based on your feedback.
If you're enjoying Draw of Destiny and would like to help the project grow, one of the biggest things you can do is leave a Steam review.
Every review helps more players discover the game, which allows us to continue improving and expanding it throughout Early Access.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
We can't wait to show you what's coming next!
— The Draw of Destiny Team
Draw of Destiny has officially entered Early Access!
Build your deck, evolve your cards through battle and fight your way through a dark fantasy world filled with monsters and difficult choices.
And yes — the game is completely Free to Play.
Our goal is to grow the game together with the community during Early Access and support future development through optional DLC.
Thank you to everyone who wishlisted and supported us on this journey.
See you in Draw of Destiny!
The world has become a little darker... and a lot more alive.
This update introduces 10 brand-new music tracks and more than 20 ambient sound effects designed to deepen the atmosphere of every adventure.
As you explore, you may hear distant chains rattling in the darkness, old wooden structures creaking, creatures growling somewhere beyond your sight, or the occasional lonely piano note echoing through the world.
Binding everything together is a new musical score filled with dark whimsy, mystery, and melancholy. The soundtrack carries the mood of the adventure, creating a world that feels both unsettling and strangely enchanting.
Whether you're exploring familiar locations or setting out on a new run, we hope these new audio additions make every journey more immersive than ever before.
⚔️ Early Access & New Demo – July 3rd ⚔️
The battle begins soon!
Embark on a dangerous journey through 15 levels of strategic card battles. Select one of 12 unique heroes, unlock powerful cards, evolve your deck, and adapt your strategy before every encounter.
With countless card combinations, hero builds, and tactical choices, every run offers a new challenge on your path toward the final boss.
A brand-new demo will also be available, giving everyone a chance to experience the latest version of the game before diving into Early Access.
Prepare your deck. Choose your hero. Conquer the challenge.
Launches July 3rd.
The game's presentation has been heavily reworked to create a darker, more immersive atmosphere.
Updated screens include:
Title Screen
Character Selection
War Table
Reward Screen
Inside the world itself, we have also reworked:
Background environments
Enemy creatures
Card visuals and effects
The world now feels more alive, cursed, and mysterious than ever before.
Every battle is drenched in crimson light, ancient magic, and forbidden energy.
Five new powerful bosses have entered the world.
Each one guards a forbidden relic of immense power.
Defeat them... and you will earn a rare Ultra Card capable of changing the course of an entire run.
These enemies are designed to test not only your deck... but your willingness to sacrifice everything for power.
A new Pact Level has been added.
Here, players may forge mysterious pacts with unknown forces.
These pacts can reshape your strategy, unlock dangerous advantages, or lead you down darker paths that cannot be undone.
Every pact carries a price.
A brand new Progression Screen is now in development.
Players will be able to unlock:
New cards
New characters
New gameplay content
Hidden possibilities waiting beneath the surface
Your journey will now continue far beyond a single run.
Before beginning a run, players can now activate special Forbidden Powers.
These systems allow you to enable additional card sets that may appear during your journey.
Choose carefully.
Only a limited number of powers can be awakened at once... and each choice may completely transform your build, your strategy, and your fate.
This is only the beginning.
The darkness continues to grow with every update, and many secrets still remain hidden beneath the surface.
Thank you for following our journey and supporting the game during development.
More horrors await.
We pushed a demo update for Next Fest:
meet the new hero "The Cradle" with his club called Thirty-Two,
try the Multidamage card pack (split damage across multiple enemies), and
face a Pact stage that asks you to trade risk for reward.
There’s also a new potion-shop stage so you can get curious elixirs on your route.
We’ve focused this build on adding more meaningful choices — play the demo during Next Fest and tell us what felt risky, fun, or unfair. If you like what you see, please wishlist Draw of Destiny.

Cards are now grouped into three design identities:
Black — immediate power at a clear cost
White — delayed/uncertain effects with less direct control
Gray — planning and stability tools to keep options open
A strong deck uses all three.
Seraph’s Embrace (White, updated) No longer grants Life instantly. Now adds Life cards to your discard pile for later draw.
Devilish Contract (Black, new) Gain Life now, pay later via a spawned Payback card.
Firecaster (Gray, new) Spawns up to 3 flames on creature slots; each grants a Fire Attack card. Fewer free slots = fewer flames. Exhaust.
Ashmaker (White, new) Plants a delayed explosive card into an enemy deck; it detoates when drawn.
Card movement is now much smoother, powered by a new spring-based motion model.
Hello Steam, we are finally here. This version is the first that we publish officially on Steam.
Changelog:
We struck a deal: in order to improve onboarding and accessibility, we reduced the features of the game. We have developed so many different functions, cards, effects, etc. in the game, that it can be easily overwhelming for new players. But no worry, everything will come back in upcoming versions.
Graphics and layout improvements. We have continued to work on the look and clarity of the game, with new card images, monster graphics and more.
What happens, if ... improved. When you drag a card during game and hover over different targets, previews show you, which effect the playing of the card will have.
More tooltips to explain everything. To better understand the different concepts of the game, try to hover over an element, or look for yellow question marks to hover over.
Stability: we have improved the stability of the game, removed crashes and minor bugs.
Sincerely, your Systemknoten Team
We have fixed the plan for the release of the Draw of Destiny Demo on Steam. The Next Fest is coming on 23rd of February, and our demo will be there. In the meantime, we will work on an idea that could change Draw of Destiny in important ways. With this idea, we could improve two parts of the game, that we have currently addressed in basic ways, only.
Onboarding, and
Meta-Progression
The game has some special features, that are novel for the genre. E.g., you can build a new deck before each fight with spare cards from your library.
Another feature is the card "tech tree" and that cards upgrade during a fight.
Currently, these (+ some more), are all introduced together. This can be quite confusing to new players.
DoD 0.5 has one meta progression element: in a run, you can discover new character cards, which will be available to you in the next runs.
If I am correct with the terminology, this makes it quite a roguelike game. When you make your first run, you have the same chances to win, compared to your 100th run. You gain no experience points to improve your arsenal, it only depends on your strategy and tactics. And a little luck, of course.
The basic idea is to make the meta-progression much more relevant in the game, and at the same time take some of the complexity away for new players. The most important progression stages will probably be packs of new cards to be available in runs. But we will also try to delay the introduction of the spare-card library to make decisions easier in the beginning. And a few other things, too.
At that point, Draw of Destiny would probably become a Roguelite.
How would you like the game to be? Roguelite or Roguelike? Or a third way? Drop a comment or hit us on Discord!
Greetings and a big thank you go to Rokkey B for pointing out and explaining to us in detail the weaknesses of the current design and the problems we could face when going forward in the publishing process.
