Dear Scavengers,
The official 1.0 release is just three days away! We’ve prepared a special developer FAQ roundup to clear up all your long-held concerns.
In today's FAQ, we've collected numerous frequently-asked questions within the community, details about the 1.0 update, future plans and more! We hope by answering these questions, players could have a better understanding with the upcoming update.
Will my Early Access saves carry over to the 1.0 release?
Absolutely! Your save files, crafted with hours of dedication, are incredibly precious to us as well. All your existing saves will seamlessly transfer to the full release, so you won’t have to restart your playthrough from scratch.
However, if you only have a short playtime in Early Access and wish to experience the complete storyline, you are also welcome to start a new save :)
What new content can we expect in the 1.0? How long is the full playtime?
Doloc Town 1.0 release is expected to deliver over 30 hours of main storyline content, adding roughly 10 extra hours of main quests compared to the initial Early Access version. When side quests, friendship storylines and world exploration are included, the total gameplay length extends to more than 100 hours. With the 1.0 launches, we hope you could spend a fulfilling and joyful time in Doloc Town.
For more details on the new content, please head over to our overview article here:
Will game price be increased on full release? Is there any discount?
We have already adjusted the price ahead of the 1.0 launch, so what you see now on Steam page is the final price for the game. A launch discount is scheduled to go live alongside the 1.0 release, so stay alerted if you haven't grabbed your copy yet!
Does Doloc Town support Steam Deck and controller?
Doloc Town is playable on Steam Deck and fully supports controller input. While the team have yet to optimize for Steam Deck due to development constraints, official Steam compatibility tests indicates that the game could run well on the deck. Meanwhile, we are also actively fixing known issues and will keep optimizing based on feedback from fellow scavengers.
Will there be multiplayer mode, Nintendo Switch or mobile ports?
The development team is hard at work refining Version 1.0 to craft a polished, seamless, immersive and compelling single-player experience. The multiplayer game mode, Nintendo Switch and mobile port will be decided later, based on community feedback. We will share the latest plans via official channels in the future, so please stay patient!
Will there be a romance and/or marriage system?
Relationship progression in Doloc Town is designed around friendship and building bonds, therefore we have no plans to implement romance or marriage features. The official 1.0 release will finish friendship storylines for four characters: Zenis, Hult, Cod, Villain, and we hope you forge precious memories with them.
Will there be an artbook available for this game?
For those who enjoyed our cozy background music and visuals, an official Original Soundtrack (OST) and Digital Artbook is indeed in our plan! Scheduled to launch on Steam once finalized, a bundle discount will also be offered for combined purchases as wl!
Will there be balancing adjustments to the 1.0 update?
Yep! We have revised many frequently cited player pain points, such as insufficient early-game economy, certain cooking recipes not making money and excessive consumption for certain resources. We have also adjusted combat, livestock breeding parameters, processing efficiency, resource generation values, item drop rates and item stack caps to create far more streamlined gameplay.
I'm a mod creator, will existing mods be compatible with the official release?
We have confirmed compatibility for cosmetic and content mods officially recognized in the mod documentation. We adapted older mods to fit the slightly revised game data framework by supplementing missing attributes with default values. If these default settings contradict with mod creators' original intentions, please refer to the mod documentation later for update guidance.
For functional mods (requires DTMAPI as pre-requisite) with content altering the core game mechanics, these content are not officially supported under our current mod framework and therefore we cannot guarantee their compatibility with the 1.0 version. We recommend uninstalling all functional mods before playing the 1.0.
Uninstallation guide: Open your Steam Library, right-click Doloc Town → Manage → Browse local files. Locate and manually delete the folder named BepInEx inside the game directory. Note that the BepInEx folder cannot be removed through Steam’s standard uninstall feature.
Where can players submit bug reports and feedback?
A dedicated bug reports & feedback link can be found on the bottom-left corner of the main menu, where you can directly submit in-game problems and suggestions.
You may also post feedback via our officia Discord and social media channels. All bugs located will be addressed in a timely manner and we'll continuously polish the game to deliver a better experience!
