In this patch, I focused on fixes reported by players after release, as well as improving comfort on different screen sizes.
What Changed
AI projects now unlock earlier: at level 25 instead of level 30.
The achievement for taking the first AI project has been checked and should continue working correctly.
Added new display settings:
fullscreen mode;
windowed mode;
borderless window;
interface scale;
FPS cap.
Improved UI readability on large 2K/4K monitors.
Fixed French localization issues where some text displayed incorrectly.
Other available languages were also checked for similar encoding and broken-symbol issues.
Cleaned up broken fallback text in the interface.
Additional Notes
This patch should not break existing saves. The changes were added so current players can continue their progress without resetting the game.
Thank you to everyone who leaves feedback, reports bugs, and shares suggestions. It really helps make the game more polished, stable, and enjoyable.
This is my first game, and it has been a long and very meaningful development journey for me. I tried to create a game about starting from the bottom, learning programming, taking freelance projects, managing money, building a team, and slowly moving toward bigger goals.
During development, I put a lot of effort into the details: different difficulty levels, projects, mini-games, upgrades, banking, housing, transport, achievements, and progression. I know the game may still have things that can be improved, but I truly tried my best to make it interesting and enjoyable.
If you find a bug, notice something strange, or have ideas for improving the game, please leave your feedback in the comments. Your suggestions will help me understand what should be fixed, balanced, or added in future updates.
Thank you for giving Dev Life a chance. I really hope you enjoy the game!
In this pre-recorded gameplay video, we are showcasing the core mechanics of our game. Watch how the development process works, tap your way to success, and write the best code!
Since this is a pre-recorded video, we won't be able to answer in the live chat, but we highly encourage you to leave your feedback in our Steam Community Hub!

Hello everyone! Thank you for playing the demo. Today I'm rolling out a small patch with bug fixes and expanded localization. I also want to share what I'm working on right now.

Fixed minor bugs affecting game stability.
DDoS Mini-game: Fixed a bug where taking a new project immediately after finishing one would automatically mark it as completed without having to play it.
Demo Ending Screen: Fixed the final score display — it now shows the total amount of money earned throughout the entire game, rather than just the remaining balance at the time of completion.
Project System / Freelance Platform I am actively reworking the available order system. I want to create a fully-fledged freelance platform where each order is not just a task, but a story. Every client will have their own background and personality, making project selection more meaningful and interesting.
Achievement System A comprehensive achievement system is in development. I'm planning around 30–35 unique achievements for different playstyles and playthroughs.
Visuals I plan to improve the game's overall look — UI, animations, and the general feel of the interface.
Story Mode Working on the storyline. I want the game to have a narrative, not just be a simulation.
Thank you to everyone who is showing interest in the game and wishlisting it. Stay tuned for updates!
I’m a developer who decided to create my first "laid-back" game to take a break from everyday coding and give you a chance to see a programmer's life from a fresh perspective. I really hope you enjoy Dev Life: Tap & Code!
This is an idle/tycoon simulator of a developer’s career. You start from scratch: writing simple landing pages for pennies, living in a cardboard box, and drinking cheap coffee. Gradually, you level up your skills, take on complex projects, hire a team, and launch large-scale startups.
Three difficulty levels: from Junior (a peaceful start) to Senior (hardcore, tight budgets, and constant chaos).
Work and Progress: Click on your workspace to earn experience and money. Power depends on your hardware, transportation, and upgraded technologies (JS, React, Node.js, DevOps, etc.).
Projects: Take orders ranging from simple landing pages to CRM systems. Successfully completing "mini-games" gives you a +20% bonus to payment!
Survival: Manage your energy and health. Buy food and upgrade your housing to work more efficiently.
Team: Hire Juniors (from level 6) and Mid-level devs (from level 10) for passive income.
Startups: Create blogs and forums for additional passive income.
Each project requires mastery in special challenges:
DDoS Attack: Deflect bug packets.
Bug Hunt: Find the incorrect character in a grid.
Code Sync: Catch the cursor in the target zone.
Sorting: Arrange numbers in ascending order.
Speed Typing: Type code snippets as fast as you can.
Memory Leak: Find all matching pairs of programming terms.
Loop Breaker: Quickly select the correct commands to break out of the loop.
Progression from level 1 to 10.
All 7 mini-games and 10 types of projects.
Startups (Blog, Forum) and the team-hiring system.
All difficulty levels.
This is just the beginning! I plan to actively develop the game and add new mechanics to make it even more interesting. Your opinion is very important to me, so I look forward to your suggestions for improvement in the project's discussions.
Add the game to your wishlist and try the demo — your support means a lot to me!
