Welcome, fellow Demonhosts.
It’s been over a month since the launch of Demonherd Dungeon. We’ve taken this time to gather your feedback and put together the first of a long series of updates that will gradually fix various bugs and glitches while adding new content to the game — all completely free, of course.
These patch notes are divided into 3 categories: New Features, Balancing, and Bugfixes. We’ll aim to release a new update every 2 months to keep the experience fresh for everyone.
On second thought, I believe it’s more appropriate to make it even “hotter”… so these updates will always include new costumes and new scenes to enjoy in the dungeon!
With that said, here are the patch notes!
New Features:
Added 8 new character scenes.
Added 4 new costumes unlockable with Nightmare Essence.
It is now possible to exchange one Magikatoken for a Protein Drink at Vinga’s Guild.
Added a Bonus Chest to the guild. We’ll use this chest to give free items to players when needed.
Added 2 new items: Golem Core and Holy Grenade. You can drop the first from Ancient Golems and the second from the urns of the catacombs.
Added 3 new Jewels! These items focus on increasing the Exp Gain of the character. You can reclaim the Experience Ring for free from the Bonus Chest in the guild.
Added 5 new relics! This will open up new build options for a lot of characters.
Balancing:
Rebalanced the character critical system. Critical can now only be upgraded by 10% at a time, costing 4 Level Points per upgrade.
Rebalanced Healing Power. You now get roughly twice as much per Level Point spent compared to before. Seluna’s items and cards have been rebalanced accordingly.
Moved the recollection sphere from the left balcony to the right one, much closer to the character switch.
Magikania will now ask you Magikatokens starting from Deep instead of Abyss.
Rebalanced the final boss fight. Its second phase is now slightly weaker, but the first phase has been made more dangerous.
Increased the rewards from interacting with urns and coin sacks in the Catacombs. Urns can now give you Mummy's Hands while the coin sacks can give you Trap Disarming Kits.
You can now use Dungeon Keys during combat to temporary unlock a Primal Card, adding it to your current hand.
Traps in the Catacombs are now more visible.
Various rebalances to multiple cards and items.
Bugfixes:
Modified the critical upgrade system, removing an exploit that allowed infinite Level Points.
Fixed several functionality bugs affecting many cards.
Fixed a procedural generation bug that could softlock the player in the Foundry.
Fixed a bug that prevented obtaining the Primal Trinket of the Human Slayer Mk II.
Adjusted Thea’s breasts, which were noticeably smaller in battle compared to the scenes. Fans of her previous look can still use it by collecting a new costume for her, available right away by interacting with the Bonus Chest while using Thea.
Limited the hand-duplication bug by changing how Curse of Void and Curse of Stupor work.
Fixed a bug with one of Rin’s scenes that could trap the player in an infinite loop when rewatching it in the Recollection Room.
Fixed several cases where scenes failed to unlock properly in the Recollection Room.
Fixed a bug where Kat tried to buy Evelyn’s cards by spending Magikatokens. Maybe we should give her a gun in the next game, since she seems interested.
Fixed a bug that allowed encountering an invisible version of the adventurers.
Known Bugs:
Using a card during the draw phase can cause hand duplication.
Drawing a status card at the start of the turn or during an effect can duplicate the ongoing effect.
Equipping an item that grants extra card slots in the deck continues to give its bonuses even after being removed once the deck is built.
Rarely, discarding or exiling cards can produce unexpected results, creating “ghost” cards or filling the hand with unusable fake cards.
Being reduced to 0 HP by a status card at the start of the turn can cause a crash.
It seems more difficult (if not impossible) to obtain the last card from a character’s list in Magikania’s shops, both the Magikatoken shop and the card collectors found scattered around.
Hitting an enemy with Shock state and then drawing a status card can leave the enemy alive at 0 HP.
