Hello, this is Rootkit_, the developer of DEFRAG.
Several bugs and issues occurred after the previous update, so an emergency fix has been released. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience during gameplay.
Below are the items that have been fixed:
Resource drops were not functioning correctly.
This was caused by the resource optimization introduced in the previous update.

All nodes have been adjusted to appear at the proper timing.
An update containing these fixes is now live.
We will continue monitoring the game to ensure no additional issues occur.
Thanks to your reports and support, we were able to identify and resolve these issues quickly.
Thank you.

Hello, this is Rootkit_, developer of DEFRAG.
After two large-scale updates, this patch is a light minor update focusing on improvements that could be applied immediately.
Below are the improvement items and balance adjustments included in this update.
A new STATS window has been added, allowing you to view your character’s main stats.
You can access it by clicking the STATS button located at the bottom-left of the NODE screen.
When the inventory was full, the bottom module descriptions were sometimes cut off.
To address this, the bottom spacing of the module inventory has been increased.
Many players reported that explosion-type attacks were weaker compared to other weapons.
To improve this, explosion attacks now receive 2.5× more benefit from Attack Speed than before.
Your feedback is invaluable in helping DEFRAG improve in the right direction. Thank you always!
Hello, this is Rootkit_, developer of DEFRAG.
We have received a large amount of feedback through Community Discussions, Discord, and Steam comments.
We fully understand and agree with most of the issues you’ve reported, and we are working to resolve these inconveniences as quickly as possible.
In this update, we prioritized improvements that could be applied immediately.
Below are the items addressed in today’s update.
The module preset feature has been added.
You can equip desired modules to each preset page.
Use the number buttons on the left side of the module window to activate presets.
Switching pages instantly changes your module setup.
A new sorting option, “Default (Name Order),” has been added.
This makes it easier to identify modules of the same type.
Supports character movement only.
Cannot be used simultaneously with mouse control.
The character moves based on the last input direction.
Added an option to reduce the intensity of strong visual effects such as bullets, explosions, and electricity.
You can adjust this in the Options menu under EFFECT CLARITY.
Available in High / Medium / Low, with Low being the most transparent.
Fixed an issue where Bed Sector contamination was incorrectly applied in certain areas.
Your feedback and support are what make DEFRAG a better game.
Thank you for taking the time to read this update!
Hello, this is Rootkit_, the developer of DEFRAG.
On the first day of release, I thankfully received various bug reports and requests for usability improvements.
I want you to enjoy the game with as little disruption as possible,
so I am doing my best to respond as quickly as I can!
Below are the fixes applied today.
Fixed an issue where enabling the HDR option caused the game to crash and fail to launch. (This was related to DX12, and adding DX11 support resolved the issue.)
The game contains many flashing elements, but there was no photosensitivity warning! A warning message has now been added and will appear when the game starts.
Fixed an issue where equipping the Repeater module caused the orbiting sphere to push Benchmark walls, preventing proper gameplay.
Fixed an issue where unequipping multiple ADD Weapons did not properly unequip weapons that were currently active.
Updated the description of the \ achievement to clearly explain its requirements.
Fixed an issue where the Data Mining sound effect played even when the SFX option was disabled.
Improved UX so that in the Node Scene, the options menu can now be opened not only with ESC but also with the \ button in the lower-left corner.
Fixed an issue where, in certain languages (Korean and Simplified Chinese), the \ / \ status text in the weapon equipment screen was difficult to distinguish.
Your feedback and support are what help DEFRAG grow into a better game.
Thank you for reading!

Since the demo release, we’ve improved and refined many parts of the game based on your feedback and play data.

Clarified “\” bonus drop text for enhanced monsters
Fixed rewards not being granted after defeating the final firewall in Benchmark Mode
Corrected missing or incorrect text in certain UI elements
Fixed an issue where certain SFX ignored volume settings
Pressing ESC in the node scene now correctly opens the menu UI
Added low-frequency sound feedback when collecting resources to enhance the reward feel
Improved Ransom’s attack so the line now disconnects when distance increases
Added UI showing collected resources in cleared stages
Rebalanced Benchmark Mode to improve its risk-reward structure
Developing a new tutorial UI to provide clearer guidance for each mode and system
These updates have been applied not only to the full version but also to the demo build.
Next, we’ll complete the tutorial and focus on expanding the content for the full release.
Thank you for reading. Your feedback continues to make DEFRAG a better game.
We’re actively gathering feedback on Discord. Join the discussion and help us make DEFRAG even better.
Hello, this is Rootkit_, developer of DEFRAG.
Since the demo release, I’ve gathered data and community feedback to share the progress and improvements.
> Total Downloads: 620
> Unique Players: 115
> Median Playtime: 48 minutes
> Wishlists Since Release: +79
The 48-minute median playtime was a pleasant surprise — I initially expected around 30 minutes at most.
It means players stayed longer because they enjoyed it, and that’s a huge motivation. Thank you. :)
Wishlists have also increased significantly compared to before.
The total number is still small, but the trend itself is quite encouraging.
Especially, the wishlist conversion rate compared to demo players is very high — around 80%!
Not every wishlist may come from demo players, but I believe most of them did. :)
All feedback has been reviewed carefully, and here’s the current progress.
===========================================================
\
Fixed an issue where overlapping sounds caused excessive amplification.
Enhanced monster descriptions now clearly show “2x” for bonus drops.
Fixed the issue where rewards were not granted after defeating the final firewall in Benchmark Mode.
Corrected untranslated or incorrect text in specific UIs.
Fixed an issue where certain SFX ignored volume control settings.
Pressing ESC in the node scene now opens the MENU UI.
\
Adding a low-frequency sound effect when collecting resources to enhance the sense of reward.
Adjusting Ransom’s attack — the line will now disconnect when distance increases.
===========================================================
(Refer to the image above for visual reference.)
\
Feedback: “Benchmark mode feels repetitive after a while.”
Adding a “dodge” mechanic to make the mode more active and dynamic.
Rewards now drop as “item boxes” that players can collect directly.
The new risk-and-reward balance should make the mode much more engaging.
What do you think?
\
Feedback: “A tutorial explaining each mode and gameplay would be helpful.”
A tutorial UI will now appear when unlocking new features.
Does this feel intuitive enough?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
\
Feedback: “I want to see how much data I collected in cleared stages.”
Added UI to show collected resources on cleared stages.
One concern is that the UI might obscure enemies.
Still, it feels worth adding — don’t you think?
===========================================================
These updates will also be applied to the demo version, not just the full release.
Thank you for reading — your feedback is what makes DEFRAG better.
