Full Steam announcements and update articles for this title.
This is a large update built almost entirely from your feedback since launch. Here is everything that changed, grouped by theme.
You can now browse community creations and install them straight from the game, no manual file copying.
Share your own creations with everyone: character skins and character portraits.
When you create a new character, you can pick from the skins and portraits you have installed from the Workshop.
A separate desktop tool is included to help you package and upload your own content.
You can now rebind any key from inside the game, with a button to reset everything back to the defaults and a confirmation before it does.
Modern WASD movement is on by default, so you can move your character with one hand and use the mouse with the other.
Key names shown in the menus are clearer and now display correctly in every language.
Several settings that were impossible to change with a controller are now fully accessible, including XP sharing, vertical aim inversion and right-click sensitivity.
Auto-aim is smarter and stops locking onto the wrong target, so you no longer swing at a door or a decoration while an enemy is right next to you.
Selecting an enemy no longer prevents you from clicking on dungeon entrances and exits.
On the load screen, hold Y to delete a save.
Player 1 can no longer accidentally overwrite Player 2's assigned spells and talents.
Player 2 no longer disrupts shops, quest dialogs and other menus while Player 1 is using them.
A single, clearer information panel now sits in the corner of the screen and no longer overlaps between the two players.
Fixed a bug that made monsters of the same kind drop the exact same items over and over. Loot feels varied again.
Cursed items no longer stand out at a glance: they look just like ordinary magic items, and you only find out an item is cursed once you equip it, so every tempting find is a real gamble.
Shops no longer try to sell you items whose bonuses are entirely negative.
Enchanted throwing weapons now deal proper damage against resistant enemies instead of a single point.
Improved loot filter: clearer colors, a highlight pulse and obvious marking for items you have not identified yet.
New Restoration Stone: a consumable that repairs your gear and restores its maximum durability.
Stutter-cast and stutter-attack: a quick move cancels the recovery after a cast or a swing, so you can keep the pressure on without pausing.
Wizards and Sorceresses now deal real damage in melee that grows with their Magic, the same way Monks and Priestesses grow with Vitality.
Projectiles bounced back by the Reflection spell can now bounce at most twice, ending the endless ping-pong.
Fixed a few exploits around spell cost and damage.
Quests no longer go missing from your journal when they begin without a talking NPC.
Item-giving NPCs now reliably show up and hand over their reward, and quest items you hand in are no longer swallowed by mistake.
Fixed the crystal in the Langolin fountains quest that could fail to appear if you reached the objective out of order.
Corrected the descriptions for several quests.
Rejuvenation potions from the Arkhang quest now stack in your inventory.
The Journey in Uma bonus quest is now fully translated and shows up properly in your quest journal.
At the end of the game, Madame Irma and the banker Larsac are now spared, so you can still use their services.
When several things sit under your cursor, the game now picks the one you meant: a chest, a lever or a key-holder wins over a monster standing behind it.
NPCs behind a counter, and objects tucked into a corner, are now reachable instead of leaving you swinging at empty air.
Barrels and jars right next to you now break on the first hit.
Big optimization pass for a steadier framerate: stutters and hiccups tracked down and smoothed out, for consistent performance even in demanding moments.
Removed background work that was briefly freezing the game in busy scenes, such as the wall of flames on the Draak fight.
Reworked how monsters find their way around, so large packs and crowded rooms no longer make the game hitch.
Faster loading when you have many saved characters, with no more slowdown as your roster grows.
Render scaling with adaptive resolution: the game can quietly lower its internal resolution to hold a steady framerate, including on Steam Deck and lower-end PCs, while keeping the interface sharp.
New display-mode selector for borderless play, with an optional screen tearing toggle for lower input lag.
New effects opacity slider to turn particles and spell effects up or down, which also helps readability in busy fights.
Optional life bars above every monster so you can read enemy health at a glance.
New Legacy Texts option that brings back the original fonts.
Fixed black screens, and torches, flames and traps that could vanish on some transitions or when returning to the game window.
Cleaner main menu and character creation, including automatic capitalization of your character's name.
Leaving or abandoning a game now saves automatically, so items left on the ground are never lost.
Fairer leaderboards and achievements, with timings and rankings that reward real progress rather than exploits.
Per-game stash moved from the banker's menu to a chest in town.
An optional semi-transparent UI keeps the HUD out of your way.
Development doesn't stop here. Some upcoming features are already testable right now on the experimental build:
Hardcore mode (permadeath).
New ways to craft enchanted gear and weapons, with Soul Link and Symbiosis.
Scriptable AI, to program your ideal companion.
Explore the new monster-infested lairs, packed with treasure.
Want to try them early? Instructions to opt into the experimental build are on our Discord server. Thanks for playing, and please keep the feedback coming!
