Hi Adventurers,
This update marks the start of the EAS9 End of Season Events.During the final stretch before the start of EAS10, the dungeons have become a more dangerous place with better rewards to match. Non-boss monsters are more aggressive. In return, dungeon drop rates have been increased across the board. Artifact drop rates have been doubled in High-Roller dungeons, and the chance to obtain better loot and higher-rarity items has increased in all dungeons. Accessory drop rates from the sub-bosses have also increased, and quest item drop rates have been boosted. This includes a small temporary chance to gain Legendary-grade quest items from PvE dungeons during this period. Additionally, the small coffers chests in all dungeons have a small chance to yield the super valuable hunting loots during this event. To help boost Adventure Rank progress in the final push towards ‘Demigod’ rank, we’ve doubled the Adventure Point multiplier for all dungeons. The End of Season festivities also include the 'Artifact Arenas’ which will be available from July 10 through July 14.Finally, we’ve also made big improvements to the in-game ping system for better team coordination. This also includes new communications wheels for both social and combat messages. We hope you enjoy these changes while we prepare for the next Early Access Season. Be on the lookout for new EAS10 information dropping soon. In the meantime, see you in the dungeons!IRONMACEFixed an issue where successful Bard Play actions could fail to apply their intended effects.

The End of Season 9 event begins. Following the end of the current Arena rank season on July 6th, the off-season Arena (Flex + Solo/Duo) will be available at all times from July 10th to July 14th. During this period, the item rarity restriction for Arena entry is lifted, allowing gear up to Artifact rarity to be used, and all items will be retained even upon losing the match. To mark the final stretch before the next season, the dungeons have become more dangerous with better rewards to match. Non-boss monsters are more aggressive, gaining 15% Attack Power while losing 30% Health. In return, dungeon drop rates are increased across the board. Artifact drop rates are doubled in High-Roller dungeons, and the chance to obtain better loot and higher-rarity items is increased from normal chests, premium chests (Golden Chest, Lion's Head Chest), treasure hoards, and sub-bosses. Sub-boss accessory drop rates are also increased, and quest item drop rates are boosted — Legendary-rarity quest items also have a small chance to drop in PvE dungeons during this period. Small Coffers in all dungeons also have a small chance to yield high-grade hunting loot such as Seal of Dominion, Spectral Fabric, and Troll's Blood. Finally, to help boost Adventure Rank progress, all Adventure Point gains in dungeons are doubled.
EA Season 9 Solo/Duo Arena rewards have been revealed. By enabling the Show Arena Rank Portrait Frame option in the Customization menu, both Solo/Duo and Flex Arena frame rewards will be equipped at the same time.
Arena Season #3 is scheduled to begin on July 31.

Chat message colors now vary depending on the ping type.
Ping icons and world markers have been redesigned, and a new ping animation has been added.

The ping overlay has been improved — it now shows the object name instead of the character name, with a remove button for your own pings and a respond button for party members' pings.
Ping highlight effects have been improved, and ping sound has been changed to 3D directional audio.
General pings no longer display a "Check my ping." chat message.
Combat and social radial messages have been updated. The "Need Ammo" message now automatically changes based on the equipped ranged weapon type.
Gambler's Token is now a Soulbound item. While the original owner is alive, they cannot drop it in a dungeon, transfer it to another player's inventory, or send it through the Expressman.
Hi Adventurers,
This update brings several large changes to the High-Roller and Normal dungeons. We have now added a minimum gear-score requirement along with a higher entrance fee to the High-Roller dungeons to heighten their identity as a high-risk/high reward venue. To offset the higher fees, all adventurers that enter the HR dungeons now receive a ‘Gambler’s Token’ that they can be sold on extraction to recoup their costs. Taking risk to the fullest, HR dungeoneers can also collect the tokens of their slaughtered foes for greater rewards or just for bragging right.
We’ve also seen continual improvement with new player retention due to recent onboarding and gating improvements. Based on this encouraging data, we updated the entrance restrictions for the Normal dungeons to give each dungeon a more defined place in the overall progression journey. This also means finding better loot through the dungeons to make progress smoother.
This update also reveals the seasonal rewards and the end dates for EAS9. This is in line with our plans of going with a more predictable cadence for each season as we build up to version 1.0. We still have a way to go, but we look to add good content with each wipe going forward. This includes continuing to flesh out the classes and give players the proper canvas to build their fantasy character.
Finally, we have an update planned next week to usher in the end of season events. Adventurers can expect boosted loot and the return of artifact arenas for the final weeks of the season. Thank you and see you in the dungeons!

Hello!
We are excited to announce that the EAS9 Warlord Tournament will be held this July! While the full details are still being polished, we wanted to share some preliminary information with you.
Applicants must maintain their Warlord rank until June 22nd. Additionally, you must select one of your Warlord-tier classes to register for the tournament, and all matches must be played using only that registered class.
Applications must be submitted as a Trio of 3 Warlords, regardless of Solo/Duo or Flex queue status (Duplicate applications are not permitted).
The tournament will feature a Regional round of 8 (8 teams, 24 players per region).
If applications exceed 8 teams per region, selection will be based on the combined rank points of the team members.
Applications will open from June 22, 2026, to June 28, 2026.
SELECTION CRITERIA FOR EXCESS APPLICATIONS Teams will be selected by adding up the individual rank placements of all team members, with the lowest total points (highest combined rank) being selected first.
Example: Solo/Duo 2nd place (2 points) + Flex 8th place (8 points) + Flex 20th place (20 points) = Total 30 points
TIE-BREAKER RULES
Based on the ranks from the applications, priority will be given to the team with the higher minimum rank compared to the opponent.
For example, Team A (Solo/Duo 1st, Solo/Duo 9th, Flex 14th) VS Team B (Flex 4th, Flex 7th, Flex 13th), Team B will take priority because their lowest rank is 13th, whereas Team A's lowest rank is 14th.
If a tie still persists, the team that submitted their application earlier will be selected.
REGIONAL TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
(Specific timeframes are currently TBD)
ASIA: July 10, 2026
NA: July 11, 2026
EU: July 12, 2026

Hi Adventurers,
This hotfix continues our quest to bring more polish and balance to the game. We’ve added several small QoL changes to make the game more organized and easier to navigate. We’ve updated lootdrops, including the return of rings and pendants, to accentuate certain POIs within the dungeons. This update also includes many class and weapon balance changes to encourage more and diverse gameplay reduce some overbearing weapons.Due to the excellent engagement from Arena Season 1, we’ve recently decided to expand our Arena strategy. For the upcoming Arena Season 2, we will be adding a new separate ‘Solo/Duo’ Arena queue and leaderboard, along with extra rewards. The Solo/Duo queue still means the Arena is fought as a 3vs3 battle, but only solo and duo parties will be able to join the random matchmaking queue. The original Arena queue and leaderboard will now be known as the ‘Flex (Trio)’ Arena and will support all party size compositions up to a 3-stack for the matchmaking. We need some extra time to prepare this new matching queue and leaderboard, so the start of Arena Season 2 has been slightly pushed back to May 29th. BOTH Arena queues will have the entrance gear limit set at ‘Epic’ grade, and all items will be retained even after a loss. The Solo/Duo Arena’s will further be limited to just Solo queue once competitors reach the ‘Vanquisher 3’ rank at 2600+ MMR.We apologize for the delay but believe this update will offer a more compelling Arena experience to a larger audience. Hi Adventurers,
This hotfix brings several improvements based directly on community feedback including fixes to the Workshop feature, the Emberflame skins, and overall game balance. The initial launch of the Workshop had some rough edges, and we’ve made some quick adjustments based on your feedback. We’ve streamlined upgrading your workshops by reducing much of the mindless upgrade requirements. We’ve also made it much easier to scrap your items by allowing you to scrap at any of your workshops, once an item type has been unlocked. The maximum stack count for scraps in your inventory has also been increased from 20->50 to better handle all your new scraps. We’ve started work to better differentiate the various services at the Workshops. The ‘Workshop-Enhance’ service has been improved so it no longer re-rolls all the modifiers on an item. Instead, enhancing an item at a workshop simply adds a new random modifier while maintaining the previous attributes. Enhancing an item from Legendary to Unique grade randomly selects a single modifier from the currently attached pool and rerolls a ‘unique’ value. The prices for the services have also been significantly rebalanced based on changes in the game economy and the newly improved functionality. We had originally set high workshop service costs to counter some of the high gold inflation in the economy when the feature launched. However, the gold sink has caused heavier than expected deflationary pressures on the marketplace. We’ve significantly decreased the gold costs and have instead adjusted the material costs to better encourage gold flow into the markets. This update also sees the expansion of the Emberflame skins to cover more popular weapons including the Bardiche, Longbow, Arming Sword, and more. These new skins are also available for purchase in special bundles that include an introductory bundle discount. We’ve also improved the functionality of the skins so that the glowing visual effect turns off when crouching or slow walking in the dungeons, allowing you to stay hidden in the dark. Finally, this update includes many balance improvements asked for by the community including increased session times for certain maps and a rework of the Banshee. Be on the lookout for this season’s Adventure and Arena rank rewards in the next update. This should give adventurers enough time to grind out their ranks before the end of the season at the end of April. As always, thank you and see you in the dungeons!IRONMACEFixed a crash that could occur when using the Hurl Weapon skill.

Dear Adventurers,
We have some exciting news to share with you today, news that reflects how far IRONMACE has come, and where we're headed next.In 2021, IRONMACE was founded with one mission: to create great games that gamers around the world can truly enjoy. Dark and Darker was our first step in that journey. Thanks to you, it became something far bigger than we ever imagined!Over the past few years, under SDF, Dark and Darker's vision and long-term direction have gradually become clear and firmly established. In particular, during EAS8, SDF set game stability as the top priority and personally drove the decisions that built the strong foundation we stand on today. With that foundation in place and the game in a stable position, SDF has made the strategic decision as CEO to begin IRONMACE's next challenge. We are officially beginning development on IRONMACE's next project. This is not a pivot away from Dark and Darker. Dark and Darker is not being abandoned. It remains our most important core project, and we are continuing to support it with dedicated leadership, ongoing development, and long-term commitment. As part of this growth, we're evolving our leadership structure to ensure both projects have dedicated, focused direction:- Dark and Darker - Director: Terry / Co-Director: Paul- New Project - Director: SDF / Co-Director: JounarJounar has been part of the DaD team since the earliest days, contributing to both the core framework and the finer details of Dark and Darker. Going forward, Jounar will join SDF in pursuing new creative challenges on the next project.SDF will continue to lead IRONMACE as CEO while simultaneously serving as Overall Director, overseeing both Dark and Darker and the new project. Each project's Director will lead day-to-day development, while SDF as Overall Director will oversee the long-term strategy to ensure the game's core identity and vision are maintained.Terry has been leading the core development of Dark and Darker alongside SDF since the beginning. With a deep understanding of the game's design philosophy and development direction, Terry is ready to take the helm as Director.Paul has been part of the team since the early days of development, steadily expanding his role and contributing across multiple areas of DaD. His broad experience and dedication make him the right fit to support Terry as Co-Director.Under the leadership of Terry and Paul we truly believe the spirit of Dark and Darker will remain intact. We've brought in new talent specifically to be able to support both projects. The other core team members who built the game remain on the Dark and Darker team, and we will keep building and improving DaD for the long run. This marks an exciting new chapter for IRONMACE.We're growing, but Dark and Darker remains at the heart of everything we do. As we take on this new challenge, DaD will continue to be our top priority, and we will keep backing it through sustained development and meaningful, ongoing support.Thank you for your continued support!IRONMACEHi Adventurers,
This update launches the all new Workshop feature that lets Adventurers extract more value from their less successful dungeon dives. Workshops convert unwanted gear into scraps that can be utilized to enhance or rebuild the gear they actually cherish. Scraps can even be used in to craft completely new random gear. We hope the Workshop works as a nice counterbalance to help stabilize the current economy.
This update also introduces our first batch of weapon cosmetics with the launch of the ‘Emberflame’ series. The ‘Emberflame’ skins add a fiery flick of lava to some of our most popular weapons. We plan to continually expand this system and branch out to more weapons in the future.
Finally, please note that Valentine’s temporary sojourn at the tavern will be ending soon. We highly recommend spending all remaining rewards from the Valentine event before his farewell, coming with the next major hotfix. As always, we thank you for your support and we’ll see you in the dungeons!
