DanceXR 2026.6 is all about hands-on control. A brand-new interactive posing system lets you grab and drag points on a character's body to set limbs directly, with clear on-body handles and intuitive depth control so you can shape a pose in full 3D. Dwell on a foot to pin it in place, and a full-body balance system — rebuilt from the ground up — keeps the character settling, shifting weight, and swaying naturally underneath your edits, with better landing and hip-and-knee behavior. In VR, you can reach out and shape a pose directly by hand. The conversational assistant is smarter this release. A new assistant mode adds always-on voice commands and can carry out multi-step actions for you, while in-chat commands make it quick to search for characters, switch characters, and change scenes. The built-in Operator Assistant answers questions about DanceXR right in the chat window and links back to the docs, and quick /scene and /char commands let you set up scenes and regenerate characters without leaving the conversation. Conversations are more robust too, handling empty or cut-off replies gracefully and making links clickable. Fluid and motion both feel more lifelike. Fluid simulation has improved cohesion, stickiness, and stability, while motion gains smoother hip movement, a new tentacle motion, and cleaner transitions between animations. Improved inherit-bone handling fixes a long-standing model compatibility issue, so many models that previously animated incorrectly now play back as intended. Under the hood, bone and rig handling is more reliable — including translatable non-standard bones and availability checks — and chat history, freeze, and cleanup issues have been fixed alongside numerous stability passes. The project has also been updated to the latest Unity version. For full details, visit: \(https://vrstormlab.com/dancexr/releases/2026.6)
Known issues with 2026.6: If you get incorrect motion, upper body or fingers not moving, try turning "Smoothing" off in motion settings.
