Cursorblade news & patch notes

Hi everyone, Hope you're all doing well. I've been working on adding a boss and a dark mode. Currently, there is an issue that has led me to decide that dark mode can't be turned on/off between runs, but you can toggle dark mode on/off in the settings on the title screen. Until I find a solution to the issue, I hope you enjoy it! Changes:

• Added a dark mode.

• Added 1 boss.

• Added 1 new achievement.

• Glassblade now starts with 4 max hearts, but all incoming damage is doubled.

• Glassblade's ability cooldown is increased to 3 seconds.

• The explosion created from Bomblade's ability now deals more damage (from 18 to 23), has a wider radius, and can destroy enemies' projectiles.

• The ability's cooldown changes from a number countdown to a fade-out effect.

• If enemies get frozen while they are about to attack, they'll keep shaking to indicate to the player.

Bug Fixes:

• Fixed a bug where the Alarm Clock doesn't work after wave 49.

• Fixed a bug where UFO's laser collision was bigger than it should be.

• Fixed a bug where you got a lower score than it should be when you kill Boblinja (Goblin Ninja).

• Fixed a bug where Dumbbell's damage stacks sometimes didn't restart after taking damage.

• Fixed a bug where Boxing Gloves' damage stacks didn't restart after losing a combo.

I'll be working on adding some more quality of life improvements next. Feel free to leave any suggestions if there's anything you'd like me to add :)

Bug Fixes:

• Fix a bug where the text for the Target in Thai and Chinese is not displayed properly.

• Fix some localization errors.

Big Fix:

• Fix the bug where the explosion collision from Bomblade's ability is smaller than it should be.

Hi The bug in the Gift item that caused the game to crash has been fixed. The item should work properly now (I hope 🙏). So, I've put the item back into the game. If anyone has found any bugs related to the Gift item or any other issues, please feel free to tell me about them. I hope you're enjoying the game! Big Fixes:

• Fix the bug where the Gift item caused the game to crash.

• Fix the bug where, when Sir Mace (the knight with a morning star), gets frozen while attacking, his morning star keeps moving across the room.

Big Fixes and change:

• Fix the bug where the Bubble Shield doesn't work properly.

• Fix the bug where the cursor disappears after taking damage and restarts the game immediately.

• Fix some minor localization errors.

As for the last post, the bug that caused the game to crash is related to the "Gift" item, which wasn't working properly. For now, I've temporarily removed the item and will add it back once I fix it. The game should work properly now. I will continue fixing some minor bugs. I apologize for the inconvenience. I hope you understand, and thank you for your patience. Change:

• Remove the 'Gift' item that causes the game to crash or occasionally leads to a softlock on the upgrade screen.

• Fix some minor localization errors.

Bug Fixes:

• Fixed a bug where the game soundtracks overlap if the player pauses the game shortly after the weapon select screen.

• Fixed a bug where the player can use an ability in the pause menu.

• Fixed a bug where the game crashed if the player killed the last enemy of the last wave and died at the same time.

• Fixed a bug where the player clicking the reroll button and pressing escape at the same time would cause weapon or item choices to overlap.

Change:

• Poyon, Popoyon and Papayon (all slime enemies) will be red when attacking.

• The enemies' attack range is shorter.

What you can expect in this demo:

• 1 new weapon

• Each character now has their own special ability

• Combo system

Changes:

• Harder enemy waves.

• Bomb detonates faster.

• Lightning now only deals damage to enemies within a radius.

• Cactus deals less damage, reduced from 5 to 4 per tick.

• Shroom deals less damage, reduced from 5 to 4 per tick.

• Shroom sprite redesign.

• Magma lasts for a shorter duration.

• Pufferfish deals more damage from 5 to 16.

• Alarm Clock effect lasts for a shorter time, reduced from 3 to 2 seconds.

• Popoyon (big slime) will be more aggressive and spawns 4 Poyon (little slime) instead of 2 upon death.

• Papayon (very big slime) will be more aggressive and spawns 4 Popoyon (big slime) instead of 2 upon death.

• Projectiles from Boblin (goblin enemy), Magihat (mage enemy), and Buzzle (beehive enemy) are faster.

• Madshroom (red mushroom enemy) shoots more projectiles.

• Sadshroom (blue mushroom enemy) sprite redesign.

• Nimbus (cloud enemy) sprite redesign.

Hi Thank you for your feedback again! I just updated the demo with balance changes and fixed a few more things. Unfortunately there are some issues with the save system that delete your high score in this new update but I'm working on it. I'd also like to thank all of the content creators who have covered the demo. I've uploaded some assets of the game in the presskit in case you need them for your thumbnails. Balancing

• Heart drop rate is decreased.

• Adrenaline: deals 1 more slash damage per missing heart instead of 10% more slash damage per missing heart.

• Bullets from Buzzle (beehive enemy) are faster.

Misc & fixes

• Fixed a bug where sometimes Shroom doesn't deal damage. (If anyone still get this bug feel free to tell me about it.)

• Enemy attack indicator is more visible.
