Full Steam announcements and update articles for this title.
We are finally reaching our version 1.0 full release on July 9. This major update brings a massive amount of new content to the game. Act III is officially arriving with a brand new boss, 4 new maps, over 60 new dungeon rooms, 10 new monsters, more than a dozen new skins, and a whole selection of new items and treasures.
Thank you all so much for your continuous support and feedback throughout our early access journey. This milestone is a huge moment for our small team, and we are incredibly grateful to our community. 🙂
Based on player suggestions, we have made some significant updates to core gameplay mechanics to shake things up.
Spell Torch Upgrades: The Spell Torch has been underutilized in past builds, so we added more functionality. It can now be used to defeat Mannequins, open Grumble Chests, and identify dangerous doors.
Respawn Dice: We wanted to find a way to get dead players back into the match quicker. We added a pair of demonic dice that can resurrect you if you manage to roll a win.
Ice Wand and Boomer Bomb: These tactical items now freeze monsters completely in place instead of just slowing them down.
The following section contains spoilers for the upcoming act, so skip this part if you prefer to discover everything on your own.
Act III introduces water elements to our maps and dungeons. While your character cannot drown, different types of dangerous monsters now lurk in the depths. Moving underwater also dampens your audio, making it much harder for your companions to hear you clearly.
To complete the act, you must defeat the Jester, our new boss creature. He adds a new layer of challenge with unique death curses, requiring your team to completely rethink how you communicate with each other to survive.
Here is a breakdown of the new creatures you will face in the depths of Act 3:
The Doorpelganger: Not all doors are safe now, as a creature may be lurking right behind them.
Mimic: Be careful who you trust, because some monsters can now take the exact shape and form of other players.
Oilyphant:A large, greasy creature that demands to be fed from time to time, or it will become aggressive.
Big Baby: A creepy giant doll that must be deactivated using specific spell words.
Water Monsters: Watch your step in the pools, as the Anglershark, Necrofish, and Dungeon Leech are waiting for you.
Grumble Chest: A cute monster that you can destroy to secure a hidden treasure.
Muffins: The beloved pet belonging to the Queen makes an appearance.
Gunther: A new character who will give you gold in exchange for your collected treasures.
We are adding plenty of new equipment and treasures to change up your strategies during a run:
Jabber Walkie: A fan-named piece of walkie-talkie equipment. You can use it to communicate, or accidentally hurt each other, over long distances.
Death Wand: A universal weapon that kills indiscriminately. It is honestly more likely to take out your friends than the actual monsters.
Plan B: A special treasure that sacrifices its own existence to automatically revive you.
Gaslighter: A useful treasure that serves as an automatic spell torch, requiring no spell words to function.
Dance Scepter: This item blasts musical hits while you are on the move.
Voice-Changing Treasures: Silly items like the Golden Chicken and Heavy Dumbbell will temporarily alter your voice when carried.
Interactive objects have been added to the environment to reward risk-taking. You can use the Iron Maiden to sacrifice a portion of your health in exchange for a random item.
There is also the Dancing Daisy, a giant flower that requires you to sing and dance for it to receive a special item.
For those who love customizing their characters, we have over 15 new skins to earn by completing in-game achievements. You can unlock several more unique skins by joining our community on Discord.
We also have beautiful new capsule art on display for our store page, created by the very talented artist @Gaelfox.
Thank you once again for all your incredible support. We cannot wait for you to experience the full version of the game on July 9. Join our Discord community to stay updated on future patches, chat with us, and claim your extra exclusive skins.
