PvE

We would like to remind you that all the official PvE servers will have a scheduled wipe soon—this Friday, 16th January. The wipe interval for the official PvE servers is 12 weeks, making it ideal for relaxed and creative gameplay. Feel free to join any of the official PvE servers for a fresh round of economic and technological competition and race to reach the highest faction score on any of the regional PvE servers.

PvP wipe

Official PvP servers currently have a 2-week wipe interval and the next wipe is scheduled for Friday, 23rd January. Enjoy a level playing field and compete with other players starting together from a common point. Also this time, we are switching to a small-teams format on all official PvP servers. Faction size is limited to 2 players. Alliances are allowed—choose your allies carefully! Unfortunately, the CryoSmall community servers are no longer actively maintained by the community and will be removed at the end of the current wipe cycle. As a result, CryoSmall EU will be replaced by the Global PvP server, and CryoSmall NA will be replaced by a new official North America PvP server launching on January 23rd. This server will mirror the configuration of Global PvP and the other official PvP servers:

• Small teams (2-player faction limit)
• Alliances allowed
• No moderation

Of course, allowing alliances and having no moderation does not make these official servers an exact replacement for CryoSmall. On the other hand, CryoSmall regularly suffered from unofficial alliances and moderation issues, as the community volunteers could not continuously monitor every player and were sometimes unable to properly resolve player reports. Given the limitations discussed above, this is the most practical solution we can provide with the new wipe.

PvP squads, get ready! This time we are having more than just a regular PvP wipe! Once again several great clans of CryoFall are ready to join the upcoming round for a massive and devastating battle of superiority! If you were hesitant to join some of the previous rounds on the Global PvP server fearing there might not be enough people—now is your chance. On Global PvP server the faction size limit for this round will be practically removed—100 members per faction (we don't expect hundreds of players this time, but it will certainly make it much easier to manage the factions as their leaders will no longer need to kick low-activity members to accept new members). Call your friends and consider joining one of the existing clan in our Discord #looking-for-group channel (invitation link)! Once again, we will also adjust the server rates to ensure higher PvP engagements during the events and high competition for oil and Li deposits. We have recently released a small patch that includes some changes to PvP but also changed the wipe interval from 1 week to 2 among other changes (see the patch notes). These changes are intended to provide plenty of time for end-game PvP battles, boss fights, and base raids.

We would like to inform you that all the official PvP servers have been wiped today as scheduled and awaiting for you to join in a fresh round of PvP battles! This time Global PvP and other official PvP servers have a smaller map—the same map which was successfully used on the CryoSmall community server for the last several months ("Duality" map created by SavingPrivatePyle, see the image below). As you may know, all official PvP servers currently have accelerated 5X rates and wipe every Friday to ensure a level playing field and offer a fresh economy with each new round. It's a major event that brings many players to compete with each other, starting from a common point. On these fast-paced 5X servers, you can focus on fights and raids non-stop which is the most fun aspect of the gameplay in PvP. Recovering after getting raided is also much easier.

Official PvE servers—now wiping every 12 weeks

Likewise, all official PvE servers will also have their regular wipe on the same day. Unlike the PvP servers, however, PvE servers have their regular scheduled wipes with longer intervals for relaxed and creative gameplay. This time we are aiming for 12 weeks cycle instead, previously PvE servers had 6 weeks cycle duration. Feel free to join any of the official PvE servers for a fresh round of economic and technological competition and race to reach the highest faction score on any of the regional PvE servers.

Discontinued servers

With this wipe, we will discontinue Asia PvP server in favor of other PvP servers. Official South America servers are not discontinued, however, we had to change our hosting provider in São Paulo which may affect your ping and overall connection quality in a better or worst way depending on the international routing for your local ISP.

We would like to remind you that the official PvP servers will have the next round of fights starting with the scheduled wipe this Friday, March 11th. This wipe we've decided to update all the official PvP servers (Asia, China, Global, and South America) to use the server settings from the experimental Fast PvP-5X server. It will make the game more accessible for new players and in general for players that cannot dedicate as much time regularly. You will need to spend much less time gathering the resources/build the base/craft equipment and can focus on fights and raids non-stop which is the most fun aspect of the gameplay. Recovering after getting raided is also much easier. As the Global server will copy Fast PvP-5X server settings, the experimental server is no longer useful and will be removed.

Settings for the official PvP servers

5X rate for resource gathering, crafting speed, skill XP, LP, slots capacity, items in radtowns, items from events, etc.

No need to unlock any technology—automatic unlock for everyone when the corresponding timegate is reached.

Timegates—new tech tier is unlocked every 24 hours (starting from Tier 3, basic+specialized technology groups and nodes insides their trees). The only exception is the T3 basic tier which will be unlocked in 4 hours after the server launch.

Weekly wipes (every Friday, usual time)—this server is super fast so resetting it regularly is essential. Otherwise, it would be impossible for new players to play here successfully just after a few days since the server launch.

Faction size limit — 10 members max (except Global with up to 20 members per team).

Faction claims limit — 20 land claims max (two per level).

Bosses will appear every 4-5 hours after the Tier 4 timegate is reached.

Savegames compatibility

First of all, we must highlight that the saved games are completely compatible with the previous (R31-R32) versions of the game. You can continue playing in your local worlds without worries. The only caveat is that saves from previous versions of the game will continue to use the old world map, which does not have the new Arctic biome, and so there will be no new monsters and no other Arctic content. The only way to update the world map is to start a new game. Therefore, if you're playing on the local server we would recommend finishing the current saved game (escape the planet) and then using the New Game + feature with which your character will be transferred to a new world while retaining the unlocked skills, technologies, etc.

Official servers wipe

All the official servers were wiped with this update according to their schedule: Official PvP servers wipe every 3 weeks and official PvE servers wipe every 6 weeks. Please read the previous announcement for more details. We welcome you to join all the newly started servers with the fresh economy and all of the new stuff introduced by the update!

Legacy support

Even though the R33 update is 100% compatible with the previous version's savegames, as usual, we're providing a legacy branch for the previous version client available if you intend to keep using it on a server that is not yet updated to R33. Just open game properties in the Steam Client, navigate to the BETAS tab, and select the "legacy-r32" branch.
