Hoppy Heights Update

Today's update contains a new game mode called Hoppy Heights! Hoppy Heights unlocks after eating 100 golden flies. When you select a frog and enter Froggy Mode, in the top right there will be a new button that will take you to a new map. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44705531/a563a8f226bcfad2e745fdb92a133b8b71a7cddc.gif Test your hopping skills and see how high you can get! As you climb, objects will randomly spawn for you to jump to. The higher you get the less objects spawn. Some frogs may have a hard time reaching the sky. Additional Updates

• Flies queued up from the "Flies spawned from a Golden Fly" stat will no longer disappear when you switch tanks. They also stick around when you exit the game and come back!
• Updated the game engine to Godot 4.3-stable. This should help some folks who experienced random crashes or freezing. This version of Godot has many updates that help with the stability of the engine.
• There have been a few folks having issues launching the game due to their graphics card not supporting Vulkan. The Godot Engine by default uses Vulkan for rendering and I wish I had a nicer workaround, but for now this quick step will help get the game running: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2628420/discussions/0/727997019945227550/
• Fixed a few minor visual bugs

Thanks to everyone who has shared their ideas on the discord! There has been some really great ideas shared on how to improve the game - you made this patch possible! - Selling all frogs, all adult frogs, and all baby frogs now has a confirmation popup. No longer worry about accidently selling all your little guys! - Locked frogs can now be moved between tanks without having to unlock them. When they are moved to a new tank they remain locked. - When selecting frogs to breed, only available frogs will be displayed. Frogs that are already mated and baby frogs will be hidden from the list! Thanks! Ryan the Dev

A small change for breeding but hopefully a welcoming one! There has been a bit of feedback around how long breeding takes and asking for some ways to speed it up: - Eating flies now speeds up the breeding process! - Similar to baby frogs eating flies, increasing fly XP will also increase the time taken off breeding. - Eating golden flies will take a lot of time off the breeding. - Added a pink bar when controlling a frog that is currently breeding to indicate how much breeding time is left - slightly increased the default time it takes for breeding. However now that breeding time can be decreased by eating flies, the overall time for breeding is still much shorter {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44705531/7df1d7ebc8565ef612a71ccaa301ff83d4bc6322.png Bugfixes - pushed a protentional fix for seeing a gray screen when starting the game

I have been hard at work these last few month polishing and putting the finishing touches on the game, I am very excited to share it with you! Breeding

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44705531/73c4fb7fb7370381dc9ba08aadbb0864f9158d83.gif A lot of feedback I received for the game was to add a way to breed frogs. Once breeding is unlocked, frogs can be selected to mate and after some time a new frog will be born into the tank! The baby frog will receive the highest rarity from it's parent, as well as one of the bonuses from their parent. There is also a chance they may become stronger 👀

Prestige

I went back and forth for awhile on whether or not to include a prestige mechanic to the game. A lot of idle games come with them and make it so progression can be made faster with every prestige. I enjoy this mechanic a lot in the idle games I play but I can see how some players might not be interested in starting from scratch. I decided to add a prestige to the game on the condition that no achievements be tied to it. For those looking to play the game and complete all the achievements, you won't need to prestige in order to unlock them all. Currently as of writing this post prestiging is unlocked after discovering nearly all the frogs and provides a slight buff to the frogs bonus stats with each prestige. The numbers get pretty wild after a few prestiges!

General Changes

- added a new frog stat that golden fly hunters might enjoy 👀 - show some additional information about the frog in froggy mode - added the ability to sort frogs by bonus type (thanks #ewm on discord!) - updated the stats page with a description of what the stat does - added a way to reset game data in the menu (useful if you played the demo a lot and want a fresh start!) - lots of balancing for how money is earned. income overtime, eating flies, selling frogs, and eating golden flies have all been adjusted. - various improvements to the UI - various bug fixes After the release I will continue to look at feedback and make any improvements to the game that I can. Hello frog friends! The demo has been out for over a month now and I've made a few changes based off all the feedback gathered during this time. I've made some big changes to how quality works on the frog, as well as made some changes to how the progression works in the game. Rare and Epic frogs now have sparkly new effects. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44705531/9c99d0197e7e90e888d133c2be7a2033bf197398.gif Previously, the quality on frogs would only increase it's sell value and increase how much more money over time it would earn. While this worked, there was a lot of things that could be done better to make the frogs feel more unique from one another. With this update I've added stats to adult frogs that get boosted based off of the quality! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44705531/4b6430483cf6ad86336e1f3c4722b2386e1e7443.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44705531/b12ac4b40b0f14cf828197805d7f15c8e355c403.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44705531/9ebbd1ac18df02632ab54ca8a46634462ee50ad7.png With frogs now having stats, and those stats being more powerful based on the quality of the frog, it made the upgrades purchased in the shop feel a bit underwhelming. It felt like the upgrades (other than the increasing total number of frogs upgrade) were no longer necessary - now that you can target farm frogs for certain stats. Lastly, there was a big overhaul to how progression works in the game. Instead of a level that increases based on the amount of money earned, progression will be made based off of how many frogs are discovered. With this change I'm hoping it helps keep the focus of the game on collecting frogs and being rewarded for filling up the Croakpedia! - When there are no frogs in the tank and not enough money to buy the first pack a "safety frog" will be added (thanks frog.fan)

The demo version of Croakoloco is now live! Collect, sell, eat flies, and jump around as a frog! The demo version let's you unlock up to 24 different types of frogs. I'm very happy to share this cozy little idle game :) Thanks to all that have helped encourage me to make it this far 🐸
