Dear Players,
We have an important announcement to make today: our soulslike indie game, Crimson Oath, has been fully developed and is now entering the final closed beta testing phase with invited players.
Originally scheduled to launch at 11:00 AM on May 1st, we’ve decided to reverse the delay by one day and release the game earlier at 6:00 PM on April 30th, in response to your feedback and requests.
The game features 6 levels total, with 5 large-scale levels packed with combat and exploration. We estimate the average playtime to be around 15 hours, while seasoned souls players can complete it in roughly 10 hours.
Regarding pricing—we’ve shared our plan on our homepage for some time. We will offer the lowest possible launch price with an additional discount, giving our biggest savings to players who support us on day one.
As a three-person indie dev team, this is our first project. While we’ve poured our hearts into making the best game possible, game development is an incredibly complex endeavor, and some bugs or rough edges may slip through. We want you to know: we are committed to monitoring feedback closely and fixing issues as quickly as possible.
Our day-one supporters are our true core fans, and we will always prioritize you. Since our focus is entirely on game development rather than merchandise, we’re keeping it simple: we’re giving you the best deal possible on the game itself. The launch price will be the lowest you’ll see for at least the next two years—this is our promise to never “backstab” early buyers.
This leads to our next point: the game’s price will increase after launch. We want to be completely transparent: yes, the price will go up—for real. We understand this may disappoint some players, so we’re giving you fair warning. If you enjoy what you see, we encourage you to buy on day one.
The launch discount will run for 1–2 weeks, giving even cautious players plenty of time to check early reviews and community feedback before deciding.
Finally, we wish you all good health and happiness.
Games are not everything in life—but we hope you’ll see ours is worth your time. This is our passion, made real.
With gratitude,
The Crimson Oath 3-Person Dev Team
