This update adds more suggestions from the community and tweaks a few things for balance.
Champions screen shows team logos and runner up.
Batting and Pitching stats have a Class column and Class filter.
Stat columns can now be hidden and resized.
Recruiting Rankings tab looks better now.
Hitters reach base a little less often overall.
Elite contact hitters get smaller bonuses, so top averages are not quite as high.
Stat Leaders got a nice new look with player photos and team logos.
Better Lineup UI with drag and drop creation. Please continue to leave reviews as it informs others about the game. Thank you!
Update #44 adds some new ways to check out your roster. Also, a few QoL items that were requested by the community was also added! Also the biggest discount College Baseball: Dynasty Builder so far with 33%. Still holding well at 96% review score on Steam.
Roster Breakdown lets you see what positions you have and what classes they are. This allows you to have a plan on who you need to look at to recruit. Also, helps see your coverage of your secondary positions.
Roster Distribution shows you in a quick and easy pie chart of where your players are from and what their classes are.
One of the QoL updates today was adding a way to see who is a starter at a quick glance. Also added a filter so you can show everyone who can play a certain position. I know I'm getting long winded, so I'll stop there. I hope you enjoy the update!
Update #43 brings player injuries and secondary positions to College Baseball: Dynasty Builder.
Now, it is very important to make sure you are recruiting depth to protect from a big drop off. Before this update, you just needed one great player for each position and you would be fine. Now, you need to have someone behind him or your whole season can be derailed. As fun as it is for some people to plan for these things, I know it is frustrating for others. So, don't worry you will be able to turn off injuries if you don't want them in your game.
Injuries could not be implemented if players did not have secondary positions. Now when recruits are generated they have a chance to have secondary positions. Sometimes, it is just another position like maybe a 3B being able to play 1B, but there will be some players who can play almost anywhere with the IF/OF designation. This is one of the few times that I would recommend creating a new dynasty for an update. If you turn on injuries before you have had the chance to recruit players with secondary positions, you could end up in a bad situation.
Thank you again everyone for the great suggestions and support! I hope you enjoy this new update as much as I did making it!.
Update 42 adds a few features and ideas from the community. If you have time, please leave a Steam review. I would appreciate it! Fixes & gameplay
Transfer portal entry cap added as a user setting. Especially for people who don't like losing a lot of players to the transfer portal.
Allow the back arrow on the regional screen to take the player to the 16th regional instead of clicking next 15 times. lol
Add a backup save that occurs after the championship series in case of an issue during the end of season process.
Added D2, D3, and NAIA recruit types alongside HS and JUCO.
Home page navigational buttons have a better look.
Selecting Maryland or Virginia on the map now auto-includes DC (when DC recruits exist). State dropdown unchanged so DC can still be picked directly.
This update brings a few quality of life additions to the game, but one of the bigger features added is a coaches poll and media poll.
They will update every 7 days, and you can view the history of each week to see which teams rise and which fall.
Add a team photo option so you can see all of your players at once. Of course, photos used must be downloaded by the player and are not included in the game. You can also double click on the card to see the player profile.
Conference Logos are now supported to help make it a little bit more immersive. The School Development Button will turn gold with black font when you have points to spend. Even I forget sometimes to add my points, so this is a nice quality of life thing to remind you to use your points. Recruiting loading and processing is even faster now, so even with thousands of players and hundreds of teams are recruiting against each other, the time between weeks is quicker and more efficient.
Update #38 is a small update, but a nice feature that is added for your postseason games. Matchup Preview is used to see the upcoming game or the previous game if you wanted to see what "should" have happened. So, if you get some crazy upset, you can now screenshot this and post in the Discord for people to see.
Update #36 brings Slow Sim to the regular season. This will allow you to watch your regular season games one by one. It will show the record for both teams, and update once the slow sim is over. It will only work with your team. (Postseason games will still show every single game if you want it to) Also, slow sim looks slightly better with a few UI changes. Next up is the updated box score UI. Still the same information of course, but it looks nicer in my opinion. Cleaner text, and the use of your logos. Again I want to thank everyone for your support. If you can find time, I would appreciate you leaving a Steam review to add visibility to the game.
Update #35 now allows you to look back at your old recruiting classes in regular recruiting and the transfer portal. Also, there is a summary of how every team has done in recruiting.
If you have time I would appreciate you leaving a review on Steam. It is one of the best ways to allow more people to see the game. I hope you enjoy the latest update!
Update #34 definitely changes how the game plays. Instead of just kind of randomly adding points to school development, you now can build the school the way you want to.
Facilities, Stadium, Marketing, and Fan Base now have gameplay effects across both College and High School modes.
Player Development Higher facilities improve the chance for extra player growth during the player development stage.
College Recruiting & Transfer Portal Higher stadium levels lower recruiting thresholds, making commits easier to land across the board, not just for players who list stadium as a preference.
High School Tryouts Higher stadium levels add showcase prospects to the local tryout pool. The quality of these prospects scales with stadium level. They are shown in tryouts and Coach & Stadium Showcase results.
Recruiting & Transfer Portal Marketing increases your weekly recruiting point budget.
High School Tryouts Marketing adds extra players to the tryout pool. This stacks with coach bonuses and is separate from stadium showcase prospects.
College Transfer Portal Higher fan base can prevent some unhappy players from entering the transfer portal when they are near the transfer threshold. Players retained this way appear in the new Fan Base Retained tab after end-of-year transfers.
High School Season End Fan base adds a multiplier to season prestige gains. Stronger programs with stronger support gain more prestige over time.
The OOC schedule screen now includes a difficulty dropdown beside Auto Fill Remaining. Auto Schedule uses the same setting.
Difficulty Options
Cupcake Prioritizes weaker opponents.
Easy Leans toward lower-ranked teams.
Balanced Mixes opponents from multiple ranking tiers.
Tough Leans toward stronger opponents.
Elite Targets top-ranked opponents.
The tool tip shows players where their recruiting points came from. Now that we have Marketing, Coaching, Prestige, and Refunds all contributing points to a team's recruiting budget, it allows the user to understand how they have their budget.
Update #33 adds many new features to the game. In real life my team won a state championship in baseball last night, so what do I do the next morning? I work on getting some features that players have been wanting added! First up, Conference Strength is now calculated and determines how many prestige points you get for winning the conference tournament. Winning in your premier conference will get you 150 points, but a weaker conference might only get you 50 points. You are able to see conference strength in the history menu, and you can see historical data as well. Next, Custom Color Rows. Are you tired of seeing white, gray, and black on each row? Not anymore! Well, you can of course keep the default, but now you can select team colors or custom colors from the setting screen. Third, we now have All-State teams for high school mode that is set by classification. So, your best players in your classification can have the honor of making the All-State team instead of being treated like college mode's All-American teams. Finally, you can now edit your tryout players in high school mode to allow you to have custom players and ratings I try to let players play how they want to, and hopefully these new additions can do that. If you have time, I would love to hear your feedback on Steam Reviews or on our Discord.
Really small update, but you will now be able to see your prestige gains (and losses) and the progression of your prestige levels for your dynasty. Also, I updated the high school mode graphs to have different rules than the college ones due to the much fewer games in a season.
Update #31 is a small update that adds roster filters to the game. You will now be able to see all active players on the roster screen for the entire dynasty, so you can check out all players at one time. Are you wondering how good your 3B is compared to the rest of the league, easy to do now. Also, did some balancing on the High School Tryout mechanics, to allow coaches to have an impact on tryouts, but not having dynasty wide rating inflation.
Update #30 brings in a custom recruit class option. You will be able to add players to your recruit class, replace the entire class (much harder, but if you want to create 3,000+ guys, I'm all for it), and finally if you mess up and accidentally replace, or if you just don't like the class you can regenerate your entire class. All of this is done very simply by using a CSV file that you can create with Google Sheets or Excel. This is what you need for your columns for recruit classes. Also don't forget that you can support the game by leaving a Steam Review to help others see the game. I appreciate every review, thank you!
Update #29 brings custom roster support to the game. A couple of users were talking about the need for custom roster support this morning, so I worked on it today to get it implemented. You just have to use a CSV file from Excel or Google Sheets and you can generate full universes, dynasties, or just a few select players. The game will auto generate any other players that are needed. You will import the roster during the team selection screen. You will get a message on how many players were imported and how many teams received new imports.
Update 28 is a different type of update than usual. Update 28 has a new mode that plays out like high school baseball. It definitely isn't a mode for everyone. However, if you are wanting to play a high school style universe, this might be closer to what you want. Recruiting is replaced with a tryout system that is based on multiple factors like classification, prestige, and coach level. The playoff system is replaced with a 7 classification playoff system. 5A through 7A is 4 regions each, and the top 4 teams from each region make the post season. Regions 1A through 4A have 8 regions each, and the top 4 make it from each region for a total of 32 playoff teams. I have included a MSHS.json file that will be in your game directory, so if you want to edit it for your own teams and state, you can change team names, colors, and things of that nature. However I would not change the Classification names, and I wouldn't mess with the regions much at all. It's possible there are a few hard coded elements for prestige points for the higher classifications, and I think it would definitely mess up something if those were changed. A couple of other things that distinguish the high school from the college level is that the games are 7 innings long, and also have mercy rules to prevent some crazy blowouts. They can still happen, but it helps keep the scores down some. Also you can now have players for a total of 6 years if you let a 7th grader make the team at tryouts. Also one of the biggest changes I've been able to make on the technical side is that now database updating will take seconds instead of minutes when you start getting longer dynasties. I've play tested it a bunch, but I would still recommend having a backup dynasty in case something glitches. Please let me know if you find any bugs, and I can try to fix it.
Time to get hyped, WE HAVE BAR GRAPHS!! Ok, probably not the most exciting new feature, but it is nice to see at a quick glance of the team's progression. Also, coach careers have a graph as well. Please continue to leave reviews as that helps more people see the game. Thank you for your support!!
Small feature update adding a tab on Recruiting and Transfer Portal to show the top 500 Recruits. It will show the guys who go pro as well as who they signed with. You can filter by positions to show you who is signing the top players at each position. You can also see their position rank. Can you sign the most top 500 recruits?
You can now set most if not all of your out of conference schedule for your team. You will be able to set the first 20 games (Days 1 through 20) and the last 6 games (Days 51 through 56). If your conference schedule has 30 conference games this will give you the max total of 56. However, due to the customizable conference sizes that the game allows, your conference schedule might not be 30 games. The game will then fill in the other available dates with other out of conference games.
Update #24 brings a few new things to the game. A Champions button has been added to allow you a quick look on who has won it all in your universe. I have looked at coach generation of initial files, and the highest coach levels that are generated at 18. They can still progress to a level 30 coach, but we won't have any start off that high. This will allow a little bit more organic climb for the user coach. Also, I add Custom Color choices in the settings. This will allow you to match the colors you want for the game. The custom choice is at the bottom of the color list.
Update #23 brings Canada to the game. You will be able to recruit players from Canada and also set teams there as well if you wanted to. On default state weight settings Canada does not have very many players generated, but you can edit those yourself as soon as you start a universe. You just edit the state_weights.json for your save file and you will be able to increase the chances of a player coming from a province in Canada. Here are the Province abbreviations that are used if you wanted to add them to your custom universes. Also here are the default chances of generation. ON - Ontario (weight: 0.7)
QC - Quebec (weight: 0.4)
BC - British Columbia (weight: 0.24)
AB - Alberta (weight: 0.21)
MB - Manitoba (weight: 0.07)
SK - Saskatchewan (weight: 0.06)
NS - Nova Scotia (weight: 0.045)
NB - New Brunswick (weight: 0.036)
NL - Newfoundland and Labrador (weight: 0.027)
PE - Prince Edward Island (weight: 0.009)
YT - Yukon (weight: 0.002)
NT - Northwest Territories (weight: 0.002)
NU - Nunavut (weight: 0.002)
Update #22 brings in Single Season Records. You will be able to see your team single season records and for your universe. Ok, now this will be the last feature update before Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone! Also, if you have time, please leave a Steam review as those really help others find out about the game. Thank you guys!
Ok, I was able to get one more update before Christmas! Update #21 brings awards to to the game. Each season there will be a Hitter of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, and Reliever of the Year. Also, All-American 1st and 2nd Team, and All Conference 1st and 2nd Team. This is a retroactive update, so the first time you go through the end of season process, it will process the awards for seasons prior. The player profile popup will also have a tab that shows what awards that they won during their career. Merry Christmas everyone!
Update #20 brings a map to help with recruiting. You will also be able to select multiple states at one time to be able to filter out just those states to target recruits from. Also, I have changed the top school sorting to be a little bit more helpful. First click will bring up all players who have had no interest so far, second click will bring up any recruits that have the user's team as their top school, and then the third click will be alphabetical order. Thank you all again for all of the support. Sales during Sports Fest was the best week, since launch week. Remember to leave a Steam Review if you have time!
Update #19 brings Player Profile Career Leaderboards to the game. It will take a little bit longer to open player profile pages, but I think it will be worth it.
You can now see where the player ranks on the career team leaderboards, and in the league. It gives you a very quick snapshot of how well this player has done. Next, I lowered the prestige level requirements by about 15% for coaches. This will make it a bit easier for coaches to level up. Also, fixed some UI stat tracking for coaches and players today.
This update makes coach history tracking much better and easier to see. Now when coaches retire they will still exist in the universe, and you can examine their stats and history much easier than before. Also, I have added a new tab in coach management to see all coaches of a universe, not just the active ones. You will be able to track their records and accomplishments. Next, I've added a total row to quickly be able to see how a coach is doing. This is very similar to our Team History page. Up to 17 Positive Reviews on Steam! Thank you for all of the feedback.
Update #17 brings a new tab to the history section. Prestige Rankings show the current balance of power in your universe. I've also improved the layout of 8 team tournaments as it was confusing to look at. Fixed a few UI bugs as well! Thank you again so much for taking a chance on my game. Please continue to leave feedback on the Discord and with Steam Reviews.
