We’re happy to announce that Chosen Garden is joining Steam DeckBuilder Fest!

The game will be Steam Deck Verified soon, and controller support is available now.

With this, we have completed the April update on our roadmap (just a little late ːsteamhappyː).

We’re also introducing two incredible deckbuilder game, Villages&Dungeons and Roulette Hero. Check out the bundle, Double the decks, less the price!

• Score resolution now speeds up together with game speed, making the overall flow smoother.
• Increased the font size of card sub-description boxes for better readability.
• Added dedicated background music for Snowfield, improving the overall mood of the stage.

• Fixed an issue with Snooze Resident.
• Fixed an issue with Sugar Apple.
• Fixed incorrect scoring for World Tree.

• Slightly increased score growth speed in Endless Mode.
• Added tool enable/disable functionality: tools can now be freely enabled or disabled by clicking.
• Adjusted shop animal refresh rules: when the current active count of a specific animal type is greater than 2, that type will no longer be refreshed in the shop.

• Fixed multiple issues with abnormal achievement trigger conditions.
• Fixed an issue where plant counts could be incorrect during map generation.

• On the Ocean map, you can now right-click a card to quickly add it to the synthesis area.
• In the Ocean map shop, purchasing Drift Bottles and performing merging now triggers autosave.
• In the Ocean map shop, if you already own all Uncommon/Rare plants, merging again now shows a clear prompt.
• Added a completion marker (small red flower) on cleared maps in map selection for better progression visibility.
• Ginkgo cap increased from $100 to $200.

• Ginkgo: Now caps coin gain at 100 per effect to avoid extreme coin accumulation.
• Optimized map generation performance for smoother gameplay and less stutter.

• Fixed a text description error for the animal Tree Frog.

• Fixed multiple issues related to map generation and plant placement
• Fixed incorrect behavior for certain animal effects.
• Fixed an issue where bundles wouldn’t refresh immediately after purchasing the truck in the shop.

• Improved map generation slot allocation to distribute available tiles more fairly based on density weights.
• Improved edge-case handling to reduce failures when hand size exceeds available map tiles.
• Fixed and polished a batch of English localization entries for better clarity and consistency.

• Fixed an issue where Fated Scholar could still attempt to grant new legendary cards after the player already owned all legendary options.
• Fixed plant order in hand becoming scrambled after synthesis on the Ocean map.
• Fixed occasional plant overlap on the zoo map when weather effects refreshed all plant positions.

• Improved the UI presentation for the positive weather effect “White Dew” for clearer information display.
• Improved selection and interaction flow when holding many cards, reducing misclicks and making controls feel smoother.
• Balance adjustment: Lily rarity changed from Rare to Common.

• Fixed an issue where the Immortality tag was missing in Difficulty 4.
• Fixed a save-related bug that could occur if the player exited midway while harvesting orange juice.
• Fixed an incorrect Lily count display issue.
• Fixed an issue in Sky mode where bamboo shoots did not trigger the “+1 base score on planting” effect.
• Fixed an issue in the Ocean map where plant order in hand could become scrambled after synthesis.

• Added handling for positive infinity (+∞) values to prevent issues in extreme score scenarios.
• Adjusted scientific notation behavior: it now appears only when the number cannot fit in the text box.

• Fixed repeated synthesis triggers caused by rapid tapping on the Ocean map synthesis button.

• Improved tutorial prompt presentation and guidance details, making information delivery during tutorial stages clearer.
• Enhanced tutorial level highlight assets and visual effects, making key prompts more noticeable.
• Adjusted map unlock difficulty for smoother progression and a more player-friendly pacing.
• Adjusted plant highlighting under Autumn Rain weather conditions.
• When a single harvest exceeds the target score, the effect is now displayed centered on screen.

• Fixed issues in the unlock system, and optimized parts of localization configuration to reduce abnormal trigger cases.
• Fixed several edge-case issues that could occur during long play sessions, improving overall stability.
• Fixed a freeze issue that could occur when repeatedly pressing restart near win/lose transitions.
• Fixed some rich-text localization display issues.
• Fixed an incorrect Pelican description text.

• Coconut Tree: Increased the maximum coin for the Coconut Tree. The cap has been raised from 5 Coins to 30 Coins.

• Unlock System: Fixed an issue where the progression system would occasionally fail to unlock items or achievements correctly.
• Localization Text: Fixed a bug in the English and Japanese localizations where certain rich text tags were displaying incorrectly.

• Bundle Refresh Improvement: Optimized the refresh logic. When you refresh a Bundle in the store, the exact same Bundle will no longer appear consecutively.
• Store Display Fix: Fixed a UI bug where the store would display incorrectly after all Tools had been purchased.
• Plant Effects: Fixed effect trigger bugs for the following plants: Walnut, Golden Walnut, and Rose.
• UI Tooltips: Fixed an incorrect pop-up tooltip when the Cashew activates, and corrected the UI text for the Manidae.

• Difficulty 1-5 unlocks are now shared across all maps.
• Fixed a bug related to the Tool: Coupon+.
• Optimized the text description for the Plant: Caterpillar fungus.
• Added QA and Localization staff to the Credits. Thank you all for your support!

• Fixed a bug where the unlock conditions for the following achievements were incorrect: Apprentice, Skilled, Expert, Master, Next Time for Sure, and Clean Sweep.
• Fixed a bug where the unlock condition for the following plant was incorrect: Durian.
• Fixed a UI display bug where the toolbar scrollbar might exceed its designated area.
• Fixed a plant generation bug where generating plants on the map might function incorrectly when the total amount of plants in hand exceeds 81.

Hello, gardeners! We’re the devs behind Chosen Garden —— a game where Balatro meets garden theme (sometimes we call it “Garlatro” ). And this is our first game!

A lot of people asking how long we’ve been working on Chosen Garden, the answer is 5 months! Originally, “Garlatro” was just a gamejam project, but after receiving such wonderful feedback, we realized we could turn it into a full game for release.

Over these 5 months, we’ve refreshed the art style, added new mechanics, and more! We’ll keep improving the game and release it as soon as we can.
