Dear players of Legend of Card Cultivation,
Greetings,
It has been nearly a month since our last update. During this period, we have received a great deal of feedback and suggestions from players, as well as creative works shared by many enthusiastic fans. First and foremost, we extend our sincerest gratitude to every friend who cares about this game.
To be frank, we are not a large studio — our entire development team has always consisted of only 3 members. In recent months, we have been working tirelessly to polish the existing gameplay experience while advancing the development of new content. However, we are fully aware that the current update pace and content volume fall far short of everyone’s expectations. More critically, at the game’s initial launch, we made the wrong decision to release it as a full version. This decision has betrayed your trust and disappointed many players. For this, the entire development team offers our solemn apology to all players.
We have taken all your criticisms to heart and are deeply aware of our own shortcomings. With this update, we would like to honestly explain the current content status of Legend of Card Cultivation, so that every player can have a clear picture of the game’s current state:
The game features two modes: Story Mode and Free Mode. In Story Mode, one playable protagonist is currently available, with a complete main storyline and ending. The ending content will be unlocked upon reaching the Golden Core Realm.
Across all modes, the protagonist can cultivate up to the Nascent Soul Realm and complete the Heavenly Tribulation. However, supporting quests and content beyond the Golden Core Realm are still relatively sparse at present. According to our internal testing, cultivating from scratch to Nascent Soul Tribulation takes approximately 30 hours of gameplay.
Moving forward, we will continue to refine Nascent Soul Realm content, and gradually add more diverse protagonists, quests and gameplay mechanics to enrich the overall experience.
We are well aware that the game still has many flaws and imperfections. Every honest review you leave is extremely valuable to us. We will carefully document every piece of criticism and suggestion, and keep optimizing the game on an ongoing basis.
Thank you again for your tolerance, criticism and companionship.

Update Details
Added humanoid forms for two Demon Kings: the North Sea Kraken and Ironbone Bear. Each comes with a brand-new exclusive magic treasure, and can be encountered through random adventures. They are initially hostile to the protagonist. After defeating them, you may choose whether to seize their Nascent Soul — this choice will affect their relationship with the protagonist.
Important: For save files that have reached the Nascent Soul stage before this update, you must perform the following action to trigger Nascent Soul Demon King encounters in the game: Enter the Heavenly Emperor's Treasury and speak once with the gatekeeping puppet;
Added Nascent Soul Realm materials, allowing magic treasure and spirit beast cards to be upgraded in rarity smoothly.
Added the Dao Inquiry Platform for the Nascent Soul Realm.
Added Nascent Soul Realm cultivation manuals.
Regarding Nascent Soul content, we will gradually roll out Nascent Soul forms for every Demon King, each tied to a specific secret realm or quest.
Added 25 new cultivation manuals, covering Foundation Establishment to Nascent Soul Realm. These new manuals are designed to support distinct playstyles:
Metal element: Light Shield / Sword
Wood element: Summon / Control
Water element: Recovery
Fire element: Multi-strike Damage / Martial Avatar
Earth element: Spirit Beast Build / Martial Defense
Each cultivation manual can be comprehended using a fixed combination of Insight Cards, while random comprehension remains possible.
Lower-tier insights can be upgraded to higher tiers via fixed synthesis paths. Protagonists at higher realms can still comprehend and use lower-tier insights across all game systems.
The Russian translation was assisted by AI and proofread by enthusiastic Russian-speaking players. All text has been translated into Russian, while text in images remains in English.
All Demon Kings in Siege gameplay have been changed to small card format (to reduce misoperation when using pills).
Increased the Qi restored by Qi Cards:
Qi Refining: 2 points
Foundation Establishment: 4 points
Golden Core: 6 points
Chaotic Qi: 10 points
Adjusted the negative effects of Artifact Path talents — Sword Mastery, Edgeless Sword Control, Radiating Sword Qi, Golden Peak Break, and Hidden Edge — to a minor reduction in Qi value. This change only applies to talents learned after the update; old saves will still display the previous values.
Note: Talent selection will now be more strategic.
Adjusted the element of the magic treasure Flowing Fire to Yang Five Elements. Its skill effects remain unchanged — Flowing Fire still benefits from attack count bonuses from Fire-element cards. This update adds many skills that trigger extra attacks for Fire-element cards, allowing for better synergy.
Lamp card trait adjusted: Deals 3x damage to Wood-element cards.
Seal card effect adjusted: Deals 1.5x damage to demon beasts (including Demon Kings).
Pouch card trait adjusted: Reduces damage taken in the first turn (previously: reduced damage from the first attack).
Ancient Wind-Breaking Flute skill adjusted: Gains ATK after other allied Metal-element cards (previously: magic treasures) attack.
Golden Glow Bell skill adjusted: Increases the ATK of other allied Metal-element cards (previously: magic treasures) before they attack.
Golden Light Blade skill adjusted: At the start of each turn, gains ATK and HP for every Metal-element card on the field.
Moon-Slaying Demon Blade skill adjusted: At the start of each turn, gains ATK for every Metal-element card on the field.
Pixiu Spirit Beast skill adjusted: When an ally loses their Light Shield, that ally gains ATK and HP.
Star Shatterer skill adjusted: When an allied card loses its Light Shield, gains one extra attack and increased ATK.
Witherwood Sword skill fully reworked, magic treasure element adjusted: Before attacking, resets the target’s stats to their initial battle values and inflicts Poison.
Jellyfish Spirit Beast skill adjusted: For the first 3 turns, reduces the ATK of 2 random enemy cards.
Thundercrest skill adjusted: Deals damage to 2 random enemy cards at the start of each turn.
Phantom Sea Gourd skill adjusted: Deals 3x damage to Fire-element cards.
Crimson Flame Blade skill adjusted: The first attack after entering the battlefield deals greatly increased damage. If the attack kills the target, triggers one additional attack (can trigger once per turn).
Blazing Flame Gourd skill adjusted: Attacks one additional time if the target is undamaged. Can trigger up to 2 times per turn (previously 1 time).
Vermilion Cliff skill adjusted: Attacks one additional time if the target is Wood or Yin element. Can trigger up to 2 times per turn (previously 1 time).
Blazing Fire Sword skill adjusted: Damage dealt by this card ignores armor, and deals 2x damage to Wood and Yin Five Elements cards.
Increased the skill effect values of Golden Eye Tiger, Demon Binder, Gold-Sundering Flame Blade, and Pearl trait.
Increased the stats of Fire Rock Rat, Fan, and Mirror magic treasures.
Demon King Kui Niu’s Skill 2 (Passive) adjusted: This card’s attacks also apply Confusion for 1 turn to cards adjacent to the target (previously dealt damage).
Ironbone Bear’s Skill 2 (Passive) adjusted: Attacks also deal 50% damage to cards adjacent to the target (previously: attacks one additional time if the attack deals no damage).
Fixed an issue where cultivating the Evil-Breaking Sword Scripture at Sword Enlightenment Cliff would grant incorrect skills.
Fixed an issue where innate items could not be used to cultivate cultivation manuals.

We will also add encounters with select Nascent Soul-tier transformed Demon Kings to this arena in future updates. Upon victory, you may freely choose your reward from the prizes offered by your opponent.
As we need to fully redesign cultivators for all cultivation schools, this gameplay mode will take roughly one week or more to develop.

Fixed the invalid effects of Artifact Soul Reshaping and Beast Soul Reshaping.
Dear Fellow Cultivators,
Having gone through prolonged practical playtesting on the Beta build and multiple rounds of tweaks and refinements, the Free Play Mode and Random Adventure mechanics have matured into stable builds and are officially live with today’s update.
The entire Random Adventure System has been comprehensively rebuilt and optimized, prioritizing smoother early-game progression for new cultivators and lowering entry hurdles. In contrast, Free Play Mode caters to seasoned veterans familiar with the game: it removes fixed rule constraints to unlock greater flexibility for character development and exploratory gameplay.
This official launch is not the conclusion of development for either feature. As core foundational gameplay loops of our game, both systems will receive sustained long-term iterations, including brand-new content expansions and continuous fine-tuning for an improved player experience.
This gameplay mode comes without a main storyline. At the start of a new playthrough, players spend allocation points to pick different traits and fully customize their protagonist’s initial stats. All traits are divided into six functional categories: Attributes, Fortune, Origin Background, Innate Talent, Treasures, and Heavenly Dao, amounting to 81 distinct traits in total.
Four difficulty tiers are available: Casual, Normal, Hardcore and Immortal, each featuring unique gameplay rules.
Casual Difficulty : Enemies are weaker in combat stats. Materials and Realm progression rewards from battles are boosted, and playable cards remain available for an extended duration before expiring.
Normal Difficulty : Balanced enemy stats overall, designed for players with basic familiarity of game mechanics.
Hardcore Difficulty : Enemies boast elevated stats; Spirit Stone gains are restricted, and cards expire much faster.
Immortal Difficulty : Further inflated enemy stats and heightened survival pressure. This difficulty can only be selected under Focus Mode.
Random encounters trigger while soaring via Sword Flight, including secret realms, resource nodes, and card-based events featuring NPCs, crafting materials, or savage beasts.
Events fall into two categories: friendly optional encounters and hostile encounters. Players trigger any event simply by colliding with its corresponding icon mid-flight.
Added a card selection feature: the top reward for Tournament matches is revised to a customizable card pack.
Dozens of brand-new loading screen illustrations have been added.
Inventory sorting optimization: press the E key to automatically synthesize Cultivation XP, Spirit Stones and Reputation.
Introduced the Innate Unique Skill gameplay system.
After unlocking any ending in Story Mode, players may claim the magic treasure Riverhill Brush from Lu Yichen.
New save recovery function: if save files get corrupted due to external factors such as power outages or false deletion by antivirus software, players can manually restore to the latest valid save from the main menu.
Vessel Treasures adjustment: Consumption cost for Spirit Tamer is changed to Beast Mastery resource; consumption cost for Soul Harvester is switched to Soul Summon (a hidden stat with a fixed cost value of 1 point).
New Nascent Soul tier content: Players can cultivate Nascent Soul Cultivation Arts, upgrade card Realm to Nascent Soul, and improve the quality of all Nascent Soul-tier cards.
The above is a summary of core update contents.
All upcoming brand-new Nascent Soul-related content will follow our existing testing schedule. New features will first be rolled out to the Beta branch for playtesting. After gathering feedback from fellow cultivators and refining stability, these contents will be officially implemented into the live build.
We are truly grateful for all fellow cultivators’ in-game feedback, suggestions and patience along the way. We will keep polishing the game with dedication to live up to your expectations.
Due to numerous iterative updates between the main live build and Beta build, some extremely outdated save files may become incompatible, resulting in failed loading or black screens upon launching the game.
To resolve this issue, delete old save data: Copy the file path below and paste it into your File Explorer address bar (do not use the search bar) : %APPDATA%\\..\\LocalLow\\DarkIndex\\CardCultivation
Then delete all save files located inside the SaveRecord folder.
Should the problem persist after deleting saves, join our official player community group and contact the group administrator for further assistance.
Hello, fellow cultivators!
We would like to share a brief update on the recent development progress of Card Cultivation.
Since May, we have continued to make multiple rounds of adjustments and optimizations to the game, while also adding several new systems and pieces of content. Here is a brief summary of what has been completed so far.
Reworked the Map Encounter System We reworked the encounter trigger logic and event flow on the map.
Developed the Innate Skill System We developed gameplay related to Innate Skills, further enriching character progression and combat strategy.
Improved Convenience Controls Added the E key auto-sort function for cultivation, spirit stones, and reputation, improving the overall control experience.
Added several new traits.
Development Schedule Adjustment As the development of the encounter system took longer than expected, the Nascent Soul gameplay originally planned for completion in May was not finished in time. It will be carried over into June for continued development.
Added the Nascent Soul-stage mental cultivation method “Void Returning Sword Art”.
Adjusted several traits, rewards, and skill mechanics, including “Chosen One”, “Beast Tamer”, tournament champion rewards, and the sealing rules for Innate Skills.
Added the new “Innate Skill” system. Innate artifacts can now be refined into Innate Skills, and can also be restored.
Added a new mantra equipment slot for characters. Players can equip up to 3 mantras and cast them quickly with the F1-F3 hotkeys.
Spirit fields can now cultivate Nascent Soul-stage spirit herbs.
Added the new side quest “The Puppet on the Yandang City Battlefield”.
Added several new traits, including “Drunken Immortal”, “Thousand Tribulations Puppet”, “Enhanced Cultivation”, “Enhanced Karma”, “Forbidden Destiny”, “Master of Encounters”, “Pre-planted Dao Seed”, “Person of Heavenly Punishment”, “Inherited Treasure Blade”, and more.
Optimized the quest panel display and added entrances to features such as the card archive.
Optimized loading screen adaptation for 21:9 and ultrawide displays.
Added the E key auto-sort function, allowing players to quickly organize cultivation, spirit stones, and reputation.
Launched the new Map Encounter System. While flying on the sword, players now have a chance to encounter random events such as secret realms, cultivators, demonic beasts, spirit herbs, materials, merchants, and more. These events can be triggered by touching them. We also adjusted the flying rules and added a new mantra equipment slot, allowing players to equip 3 mantras and cast them quickly with the F1-F3 hotkeys.
For more detailed information, please refer to the previous announcement:
Comprehensive Content Expansion This version will focus heavily on content development, adding new content across multiple areas, including gameplay, events, characters, and build paths.
Nascent Soul-stage Demon King Gameplay The Demon Kings have already taken human form. Players will need to use the encounter system to find clues and eventually trigger the challenge. We will also showcase some Nascent Soul-stage Demon King transformed characters and their exclusive artifacts.
Nascent Soul-stage Special Gameplay The originally planned Nascent Soul-stage gameplay will continue to be developed, including the ability to transform locations into designated cards.
Continuous Content Updates Around the Encounter System We will continue adding new traits, secret realms, NPC quests, encounter events, and further improve build design, cultivation paths, mental cultivation methods, skills, mantras, and other related content.
Long-term Content Plan The content mentioned above is expected to be updated and polished over the next 2-3 months.
Version Release Plan During this period, we will push relevant content to the main branch when development and testing progress allows.
During this period, we have continued optimizing the game and adding new content. We have updated the new encounter system, added more traits for Free Mode, and completed several system adjustments, new features, and bug fixes.
However, we would also like to be transparent with everyone: the workload for the encounter system and Free Mode was larger than we initially expected. During development, these systems also became closely connected with quests, maps, NPCs, combat rewards, and several other parts of the game. As a result, the Nascent Soul content originally planned for a recent update will need to be delayed and continue development in June.
We sincerely apologize for this delay.
At the moment, our development team still consists of only 3 people, so our manpower is indeed limited. Even so, we will do our very best to complete the content we have planned.
Thank you very much for your feedback, suggestions, and patience during this time. We will continue to keep updating the game and polishing it step by step.
Random encounters will appear during Sword Flight, including random secret realms, cultivators, spirit beasts, spirit grasses, materials and merchants, as well as hostile cultivators. Simply touch an encounter while flying to trigger it instantly. You may also click the event to activate it after landing.
(The current pool of encounters is limited for now, and we will keep designing and expanding this content as a key development focus.)
You cannot take flight or return to town while hostile cultivators are present on the interface. After traveling a certain distance in flight, all neutral and hostile cards such as spirit beasts, neutral cultivators and merchants on the interface will disappear.
You can equip up to 3 mantras, bound to shortcut keys F1-F3. Press the corresponding key to cast the mantra immediately.
First of all, we apologize that the Nascent Soul gameplay originally scheduled for this month has been delayed. The revamp of the random encounter system took longer than expected. Since this system is closely interconnected with various in-game mechanics, the release of Nascent Soul content has been pushed back.
Now that the new encounter system is live, we will shift our development focus to enriching game content across multiple areas as follows:
Nascent Soul Realm Content & Gameplay:Demon Kings of Nascent Soul tier and above (both hostile and neutral) can be encountered in secret realms, random encounters (they will take the initiative to attack players), and quests.
All these Demon Kings have taken human form and possess their own exclusive magical treasures.
Random Encounters: More encounters will be added alongside quests and side stories. Some encounters will only unlock after completing related NPC quests.
Traits: New traits tied to the encounter system will be introduced. For example, the optional trait Sinister World, which greatly increases the chance of encountering hostile events.
NPCs: More side storylines will be added for existing NPCs.
Secret Realms: Additional secret realms will be developed, integrated with encounters, traits, NPC systems and more.
Combat Content: New mental techniques, skills, mantras and talents will be obtainable as rewards from encounters, quests and secret realms.
Overall, our upcoming development will focus on enriching in-game content, which will last for around 2 to 3 months. We will release regular updates as new content is completed.
All player-submitted designs will be implemented into the game. Feel free to keep sharing your ideas and suggestions via private messages or our player group.
Since the game was launched, we have always listened carefully to every player’s opinions and accepted all suggestions and feedback humbly. To live up to everyone’s love and expectations, we are fully optimizing and remaking the random encounter system to make the in-game world more vibrant.
When you travel by flight, apart from fixed destinations, all kinds of random events will appear across the world, as shown below.
There are various types of events. Apart from ordinary encounters with cultivators, treasure hunts and special locations, there are also dangerous threatening events. You will be forced to stop moving if you fail to escape in time.
This revamp of the encounter system covers massive content, so it still needs sufficient time for in-depth development and polishing. We sincerely ask for your understanding and patience.
We also sincerely invite all players to share your ideas freely. Feel free to tell us your thoughts on gameplay optimization or creative designs for random encounters. We will carefully read and take every suggestion into earnest consideration.
Added a new side quest Puppets of Yandang City Battlefield, which can be triggered by talking to watch sentries in Yandang City.
Added trigger limits to multiple skills:
Skills of Blood Jade Spider and Nether Blade can be triggered up to 5 times per round;
The end-round light shield effect of Supreme Grade Ear Rat is limited to 5 times per battle;
The Necrotic Body skill of Netherbone Specter can only activate 2 times per battle.
Fixed the issue that players could not cultivate Nascent Soul-tier fire-element mental techniques after choosing the trait Innate Dao Seed.
Fixed skill errors of NPC magic treasure Li Zhao.
