・Fixed an issue where, in save files with the DLC purchased, carpets would sometimes reappear after restarting the game even if they had been hidden.
・Added three new types of carpets via the DLC.
・Fixed an issue where the burn time and count for each log were not displayed correctly on the Log Collection screen.
・Made other minor UI fixes.
We have implemented significant balance adjustments to reduce instances where the campfire goes out while you are continuing your work.
① Scrolling the mouse wheel now stops the campfire flames from dying down.
② The time before the cat starts nagging you now increases in proportion to the duration the fire has been burning.
Scrolling the mouse wheel now stops the campfire flames from fading.
This is intended to prevent the flames from going out while you are reading text or performing other tasks.
・Scrolling the wheel on a window that is not active will not stop the flames from fading.
・The system only checks the frequency of scrolling; the “amount” of scrolling does not matter. You do not need to consciously scroll the wheel a lot.
The time between the campfire going out and the cat waking up and meowing due to the cold now increases based on the duration of the fire.
By keeping the fire burning for 20–25 minutes without waking the cat, you can extend the time until the cat meows to about 5 minutes.
By maintaining combustion for 40 minutes or more, you can extend the time until the cat meows to a maximum of 10 minutes.
If the cat meows or the software is restarted, the extended time will be reset.
Additionally, when the “Counting Disabled Window” is active, the times mentioned above will be reduced to about one-fifth of their original duration.
・Increased the drop rate of special firewood by 5 times
・Added two new types of special firewood
・Fixed an issue where the link to the official Discord server was not working properly when the language setting was set to English
・Fixed an issue where language settings were not being applied to certain text
・Count and burn time are now added to the currently used log even in 2D mode.
・Fixed an issue where the log gathering button display position would shift.
・Fixed unnatural parts in the English translation.
・Fixed an issue where the default spark effect would not display.
・A function to reset only the count and burn time display has been added to the settings.
Ver1.0 Update Details
<You can now collect “Special Firewood” while gathering firewood.>
When gathering firewood, you now have a very low chance of obtaining “Special Firewood”.
When burned together with regular firewood, Special Firewood
brings special effects, such as changing the effect when the fire's intensity increases.
(Special Firewood cannot be used as fertilizer. Firewood gathering settings do not affect obtaining Special Firewood.)
<Lightweight Mode (2D Pixel Art) has been added.>
<English language support has been added.>
・Added ? new types of Special Firewood obtainable through gathering.
<Game Balance Adjustments>
・Adjusted to make maintaining firepower easier. (Reduced the rate of firepower decay when firepower is sufficiently high, and increased the firepower boost from mouse clicks by 1.5x.)
<Other>
・Adjusted the campfire sound to be more relaxing.
・Unlocked items not yet acquired now display as “???” (revealed upon unlocking) based on progress.
・You can now switch pages in the Collection screen by scrolling with the mouse.
・Temporarily hidden the unlock count for later cats.
・Added unlock sounds and effects. Volume depends on the firewood gathering sound level.
・Adjusted the order of settings items.
・Made minor visual adjustments.
・Added a feature to skip the firewood gathering animation.
(A skip button now appears during firewood gathering. Pressing it skips the animation that displays one piece of firewood per click.)
・Adjusted some background graphics.
<Bug Fixes>
・Fixed an issue where the cursor displayed as a resize cursor (arrow) when hovering over the title bar in normal window mode.
<Settings Related>
・Moved the cat expression icon display setting to the graphics settings.
・Added an option to hide chairs in the graphics settings.
<Unlock Rewards Added>
・Five new unlock rewards have been added.
<Bug Fix>
・Fixed an issue where, after launching the software, if you closed it without performing any actions for at least one second and then relaunched it after a certain period, the firewood collection button would appear even though no firewood was obtained.
<Other>
・Visual elements have been adjusted.
・With the credits open in the bottom-right corner of the title screen, enter “MerryChristmasTakibitoneko” to make it feel like Merry Christmas anytime. (All lowercase is also OK. Restarting the software will revert it.) <Feature Additions> ・When “Turn Firewood into Fertilizer” is enabled, you can now specify one type of firewood to prioritize keeping. (By default, it now prioritizes keeping the three highest rarity types.) ・The “Turn Firewood into Fertilizer” option has been moved to the settings screen. ・The filter function in the firewood collection now allows you to find firewood currently in use. ・Pressing “Alt+Shift+M” now toggles the mute status. <Game Balance Adjustments> ・As the count increases, the probability of finding “dry leaves” while collecting firewood decreases sharply. (Conversely, the probability of finding other rare types of firewood has increased.) <Other> ・When multiple cats visit, duplicate types are less likely to appear. ・Adjusted collision detection for cats and reindeer. ・Added a tutorial on how to use camera presets to the settings menu. ・Enhanced the cats' whimsical behavior.
<Decorations Added>
・The game now has a Merry Christmas feel.
(The event is scheduled to end around 11 PM on the 26th.
We plan to add features that allow you to keep the Merry Christmas feel even after the event ends.)
<Bug Fixes>
・Fixed an issue where the count display could sometimes be partially cut off from the screen while gathering firewood.
<Feature Addition> ・Pressing “1–9” now allows you to move to a previously saved camera position. (Hold Alt while pressing 1–9 to save up to 9 current camera positions. Hold Ctrl and Alt while pressing 1–9 to delete them.) ・The selection method for cats coming to the bonfire has been changed. After the change, a cat will appear randomly from the selected cats. You can still select just one cat to have your preferred fur color come, or select none to focus on the bonfire alone. ・Added the following to unlock rewards: “Another cat arrives. You can now warm two cats at once.” (Appears after unlocking the Brown Cat.) <Game Balance Adjustments> ・Changed the points required to unlock the Hachiwara cat from 800 to 240. Players who already unlocked it will receive a refund of the 560 point difference. ・The filter selection popup can now be dismissed by clicking outside the popup. <Performance Improvements> ・Reduced GPU load when the window is minimized. <Bug Fixes> ・Fixed an issue where, after launching via auto-start and collecting firewood, clicking sometimes failed to return to the original play scene. <Other> ・Removed the firewood that produced excessive smoke from the unlock rewards. (We have shifted away from primarily rewarding interesting campfire customizations and are instead focusing on enhancing rewards with different objectives.) Minor UI adjustments and text tweaks have also been implemented.
<Additional Graphics Settings> ・You can now select the fps value from (30/60/Monitor Sync). Before this update, the fps value was determined based on your monitor. When using a monitor with a high refresh rate, this could increase the number of render passes and lead to higher GPU usage. This update sets the default fps value to 60. ・Render scale can now be selected from (50%/75%/100%). This option reduces rendering load by stretching and displaying content rendered at a lower resolution. Other minor fixes have been implemented.
<Window Operation Feature Additions> ・When in borderless mode, moving the cursor to the top-right corner now displays the standard window controls: “Close Button,” “Maximize,” and “Minimize.” <Collection Screen Feature Additions> ・Favorites Function (Favorited items cannot be sold) ・Filter Function ・Sort Function ・Collection screen now displays with pagination ・Shift-click now enables multiple item selection ・Batch selection by category ・When auto-starting, you no longer need to press the start button or perform firewood gathering actions. The campfire will now start immediately. If firewood gathering conditions are met during auto-start, the menu button will change to a firewood gathering button. (The new system should automatically activate after the update, but if you have the toggle ON, please turn it OFF and then ON again as a precaution.) ・Fixed an issue where updates might not apply when using auto-start. Due to this fix, if you launched the game without going through the Steam client, it will now prompt you to relaunch via the Steam client. ・Fixed an issue where scrolling the mouse wheel up or down outside the window could occasionally cause the camera to move unexpectedly.
・Fixed an issue where collecting firewood would cause borderless window switching and window dragging via right mouse button to stop working until the game was restarted.
・Fixed an issue where Steam did not recognize the game as being played when “Automatically launch Takibi and Neko at PC startup” was enabled and auto-launch was performed. ・To resolve the above issue, we changed the auto-launch specification. Changed from: Self-launch method → Method where Steam is called to launch the app (Steam's recommended method). (After updating, the new method will be automatically applied upon the first app launch. Auto-launch will operate using the new method starting from the next PC boot.) ・Fixed an issue where switching borderless mode caused the window size to change. ・Set the “Turn Firewood into Fertilizer” option to be ON by default on first launch. ・Adjusted the wording of the “Turn Firewood into Fertilizer” option description. (No change to functionality.) (Firewood pieces beyond the third become fertilizer, and a large bonus is added to the sale points of the third piece of firewood.)
・Added Alt+T shortcut to toggle “Pin/Unpin Window to Front”.
・Added the above functionality to the window operations tutorial.
・Fixed an issue where toggling borderless mode with Alt+Enter didn't update the toggle state.
・Fixed an issue where the window size upon startup was slightly larger than when last closed.
・Added the ability to toggle the window's circular state using F10.
<Enhanced Settings>
・After displaying the menu icon, it will now automatically disappear when the cursor moves away.
・The option “Make window circular when window frame is hidden” has been changed to “Make window circular when menu is hidden”.
・An option to hide the cat's mood icon has been added.
<Game Balance Adjustments>
The “time until the campfire goes out” has been shortened. Furthermore, The “time until it gets cold (and the cat wakes up) after the campfire goes out” has been extended. If an inactive window is active while the campfire is out, The “time until it gets cold (and the cat wakes up) after the campfire goes out” is significantly shortened.
(Intent of this adjustment)
・To reinforce the sense that the campfire equals work
・To reduce the chance of being interrupted by the cat during necessary thinking or tasks
・For players who find the sound of the campfire fading sufficient as a reminder, to create a timing where they can resume work without waking the cat
<Tutorial Clarity>
・Added a window operation tutorial to the initial startup popup.
・Added a window operation tutorial to the settings menu.
・Made the camera operation tutorial easier to follow.
・Adjusted the wording of the firewood gathering tutorial <Other>
Counts and burn times are now saved at regular intervals.
Other minor visual effects adjustments have been made.
Fixed an issue where clicking another window at specific times during startup
could prevent window movement via right-click drag.
<Camera Controls>
・Keyboard camera controls have been changed:
Move forward/backward, left/right: WASD
Move up: Space or E
Move down: Ctrl or Q
・Added slight acceleration to camera movement for smoother operation.
・Fixed an issue where scrolling up/down with the mouse wheel would cause the camera to move forward/backward even when the campfire and cat windows were behind another window.
・Adjusted to expand the range within which the camera can move.
・Prevented the cursor from moving outside the window while rotating the viewpoint.
<Settings>
・Lowered the minimum value for the viewpoint rotation sensitivity that can be set.
・Fixed an issue where the circular window setting would not correctly apply when restarting the software after closing it while the window was set to circular.
<Other>
・Made minor visual fixes.
・Fixed an issue where software located in file paths containing Japanese characters in folder names could not be counted
・Fixed an issue where the camera would suddenly move forward or backward when moving the cursor back inside the window frame after using the wheel outside the frame.
・Fixed the function to mute all sounds.
・Changed some unlock rewards
(“Slow-Burning Firewood” was intended to show a slow flame movement, but was misunderstood as reducing firepower decay, so it has been temporarily removed. Added “Smoky Firewood” instead.)
・The default firewood you start with can now also be renamed.
・Changed the default volume levels applied on first launch from 80% to 50%.
A bug occurred where registering mouse input via the RawInput API
prevented the mouse wheel from controlling camera zoom in/out, so this has been fixed.
The counting process has been changed from the WindowsHook method to the RawInput method.
Conceptually, it works like this:
Before update: Mouse input → Determine whether to count → Other PC operations
After update: Mouse input → Other PC operations (later determines if it should have been counted)
Gaming mice and liquid crystal tablets process thousands of inputs per second.
The previous method of determining whether to count each input caused temporary pauses,
leading to accumulated input latency.
This change should significantly improve latency caused by non-counting operations
(such as cursor movement).
・Performance Improvements
Fixed issues where input processing would stack up or cursor movement would become sluggish.
Reduced processing load during mouse movement.
・Fixed a bug where the volume would max out.
・Performance Improvements
Fixed issues where input processing would stack up or cursor movement would become sluggish.
Separated input processing from tasks like updating the count display to speed up input processing.
・Made campfires harder to extinguish.
Increased the maximum firepower that can be stored.
Reduced the rate at which firepower decays
