Live now: The Everhart Expedition, a Call of the Sea-inspired TTRPG campaign

Call of the Sea: The Everhart Expedition serves as both a prequel and alternate history to the events you already know from the video game. As in the original game, we'll visit a mysterious Pacific island in search of a cure for Norah Everhart's strange illness. But this time, Norah will be travelling with the expedition assembled by her husband, Harry, and we will have the opportunity to explore the story from the beginning, as the group begins their journey in Boston, with all the freedom of tabletop roleplaying. Our choices, wits and luck will determine what happens in the end. If you are interested in trying out the hobby of tabletop roleplaying, this could be an excellent opportunity to get started. The project is now seeking support on Backerkit and is offering special discounts for the first 48 hours, along with exclusive rewards like physical puzzles, handouts, and a deluxe boxed edition. American Arcadia is Out Now!

Hey everyone, Today is the release day and we are super excited to share American Arcadia with all of you! In Out of the Blue, we always like to develop new experiences, and we're passionate about exploring new stories in every game. That is why people were surprised by how different the game was from our previous title, Call of the Sea. Two ideas were really captivating us: the “escaping from a dystopia” theme, which is a kind of story that we all love in Out of the Blue Games, and the 70’s setting and aesthetic, which we believed is not that exploited in games and we find really appealing. So we can say that in the end, American Arcadia was born after combining both of these concepts. But American Arcadia is much more than a “escape from a 70’s dystopia” game. We wanted to tackle a more contemporary dystopia: the society we currently inhabit. One obsessed with appearance, likes, and instant gratification. A society dominated by exhibitionism, where personal life seems to fade away, and every aspect of our private lives is subject to external scrutiny. The message we would like to share with American Arcadia is that you don't need to share your life to be happy, because in the end, you are not living your life, you are living a display life for others. Just because your life is simple, it doesn’t mean it has to be boring. American Arcadia is also a story about cooperation and friendship. And this game would not have been possible if it wasn't for the passion, craft, and care that each member of the team has put into the development. This game is huge in every sense, compared to Call of the Sea, and teamwork was the key. And if you already own Call of the Sea - you're in luck! Call of the Sea Creator's New Game Premieres at Summer Game Fest

Some months ago we showed you a sneak peek of American Arcadia when we announced it had been nominated for the Tribeca Festival 2022 Games Selection. Now we are proud to present the official trailer reveal that has just been unveiled at Summer Game Fest tonight! After all these months, we are extremely happy to finally share with you what we have been developing: American Arcadia. And once more, we are working together with our friends at Raw Fury to make it a reality. American Arcadia is a thrilling single player experience that combines two gameplay styles, a 2.5D action side-scroller including challenging platform action, breath-taking chases, stealth and puzzles. As in Call of the Sea, we love to create striking visually appealing worlds, and in this case we have chosen a bright and colorful version of the 70's. Meet Trevor Hills, an average man enjoying a mundane life in Arcadia, the retro futuristic 70's city that is nothing but a huge TV set for the most watched reality show in America. Meet Angela Solano, a Puerto Rican stage technician that works for the show and will help Trevor escape. But these characters wouldn’t shine if it wasn’t for our amazing cast. We have Cissy Jones and Yuri Lowenthal on board again, because we absolutely adored their performances as Norah and Harry in Call of the Sea. Hey everyone!

Today is a truly special day: it's our one-year anniversary! And we have lots of things to celebrate and share with you including a 50% off sale, tons of awards, and a brand new Collector’s Edition… but first, lets take a stroll down memory lane together, shall we? It's been a whole year since Call of the Sea launched, and we couldn’t be happier with everything that’s happened to get us here. From the creation of our studio Out of the Blue, to developing the first Call of the Sea prototype in 2018 under the working title "Blue Game", to signing on with our amazing publisher Raw Fury in 2019, to you – yes, you! – reading this blog RIGHT NOW – all the steps it’s taken to get us here feels like… they were written in the stars. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/37714598/118403d072e7d5cc602fe195000ebe81f700db6b.jpg In June 2019 we delved deeper into Call of the Sea’s story and its ties to Polynesian culture through a workshop led by our Polynesian culture consultant Yunick Vaimatapako. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/37714598/745572ab306127955b2c271b7a5e0c9579ff4828.png Then, shortly before launch, Ia Ora Tahiti International School students decided to perform an Aparima inspired by the Te Reo O Te R'ai song, composed by Eduardo de la Iglesia for Call of the Sea. We also had a lovely time recording the prequel letters performed live by our dear friends Cissy Jones (Norah) and Yuri Lowenthal (Harry). And finally on the 8th of December 2020, Call of the Sea was launched! We wanted to deliver a love letter to the puzzle genre, a game crafted with care that all would want to play. We were confident that we had achieved this, but we certainly weren't expecting the incredible warm reception that we got from all types of players from all over the world. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/37714598/4dd3a966a789233309051eaa1ab500e1e4e1a713.jpg We have also won some awards since then! The first one was the Best of 2020 from IGN last year, then came others like GameKult, Hobby Consolas, DeVuego (we won in 7 categories!), Zapping Awards, WeirdMarket, and more recently Tiga Game Awards and the Nyx Game Awards. But the one we are most proud of is being nominated in the BAFTA Awards for Best Debut Game.
