Bopl Battle news & patch notes

-Added 60 new levels, roughly doubling the amount of levels in the game. -Fixed a visual glitch when hitting platforms with duplicator

-Fixed an issue where growth/shrink would sometimes just keep going during timestop -Player1 will no longer be able to easily dash out of grappling hooks attached to other players (removed the port priority issue)

-You should now be able to use remote play together again. -Game should no longer crash on startup for some players. Let me know if you find any other bugs!

There seem to be bigger issues caused by this change. Rolling it back for now..

Remote play together was crashing when you invited a player and some players couldn't even start the game.. That should be fixed now!

-2 magnet guns will now repel of each other if their magnets touch. -Blinking a Magnet gun will now make them drop what they were holding -Ability pickups can now be pulled and grabbed by magnet gun -Revive will now always stay inside the stage bounds -Fixed an issue where the pickup radius of a magnet was too small on enlarged players -Fixed a bug where a player could lose the ability to change their abilities due to someone leaving in online mode -Replays should no longer brake when playing in a lobby where a player has left -Fixed a bug where slimes could die out of nowhere if someone had magnet grabbed a drill -Fixed a bug causing growth,shrink,blink and duplicator to visually appear to not bounce of water -Fixed an error caused by rolling on a disappearing platform right as it is about to jump to another platform

Fixed some new bugs -Fixed an issue where magnet-gun-grabbing a player while they were reviving made them freeze in place -Magnet gun can now correctly steal boulders from Machoslime (instead of weird stuff happening) -Magnet gun will now be appropriately time stopped -Translated magnet gun to different languages

-Added new ability Turn into a gun and pull things to you, picks them up and fire them away works on basically anything, except platforms. (even works on teleport and revive markers) -Growth and shrink ray can now be fired on teleport and revive markers -Picking up a rock as macho slime will now also pickup nearby things attached to the platform (Tesla coils , Spikes, Engines and grappling hooks) -Tweaked rope physics -Various bug fixes As always, if you notice some new bug, please let me know! - Zapray

-Grappling hook can now hit black holes, doing so will suck you in to the blackhole. -Rebinding controls will no longer bug out other players when playing locally -Fixed a bug where the camera (and mouse aim) would incorrectly focus on a cloned player. It will now prioritize the clone with more abilities. -Fixed a potential network error caused by copying ability pickups -Changed some Russian translations that were off

-You can now hit your clones with blink gun -Any shot made from a gun/ray dipped in water will now count as a self hit (making it much easier to do) -Fixed a visual issue with duplicating small snow platforms, for some players -Cloned Rocks no longer splatter slime when knocked off screen -Duplicated objects no longer have their lifespan ticks down during time stop -Made some small changes that should help against hackers changing your abilities

Patch 2.3.1 bug fixes -Sudden death no longer affects duplicated platforms more -Invisibility will no longer get an infinite cooldown sometimes -Fixed a bug making Timestop speed indicator arrows stay visible after timestop ends on duplicated projectiles -Fixed a bug causing platforms to lose speed and angular momentum when placing spikes / rocket engine / tesla coils on them. -Fixed an error causing weird behaviour when a revive-respawned-duplicated-player picks up an ability -Fixed a bug where the meteor attack counted as a projectile, resulting in errors when it was hit by guns -You can no longer hit yourself with duplicator by being on a quickly rotating platform -Fixed a bug where the camera would stop following duplicated players -The darkness around Timestop now fades in properly -Fixed a rare error teleporting players around when landing on a resizable platform -Rocks are now duplicated into rocks instead of instantly dying regular slimes. -Fixed a bug where meteor could self-kill if you instantly entered another ability after landing -Duplicated platforms now keep any slime that was on them

Patch 2.3.0 -NEW ABILITY: The DUPLICATOR (I had to do a lot of work to have this thing not be totally OP. I think it's in a good spot now. Should be a powerful support ability) -Redesigned most moon levels and added some new ones. Including a new platform type. (I thought the space levels were a bit dull with only circular platforms. A lot of them also had platforms that were very high up, which paired poorly with the high jump height in space) -Playing online is now much more stable when there are laggy players. (hopefully only mod-caused desyncs remain now. fingers crossed) -Mods will now auto-disable the matchmaking button to avoid desyncs in online play -Going all random is now more likely to give you at least 1 offensive ability (the last ability is rerolled once if you ended up with none.) -Eating a player now increases your size slightly -Fixed a common bug where loading a new level would show all the platforms before they were animated in -Fixed a bug with the rotation-physics of platforms with things attached to them, This primarily means rocket engine rotates things a lot more now. -Fixed a bug where your numberOfAbilities setting got messed up after playing online -Slimes of the same color (clones) can now hurt each other using beam, rock, drill and meteor -Picked up boulders will no longer flip to their mirror image as they are picked up -Missile explosions no longer teleport down when hitting the top blast-zone -You can now load the next replay in your replay folder by clicking "next game" in the endgame screen, after you have watched a replay. clicking f10 will skip to the next replay immediately and holding f9 will speed it

Fixed a bug where the game would sometimes not start (it would load only the background and the game would never start)

-Gust cooldown 4.4s -> 5s -Gust push strength on grounded players 10 -> 5 -Tap shooting with Bow is now slower (the first 2 frames of the animation now finish before the arrow is released) -Dash cooldown 3.2s -> 4s -Dash no longer detaches ropes -Meteor cooldown 3s -> 4s -Roll can now be charged in the air -Interrupting roll charge-up will no longer drop you from your platform -You can now jump out of a released Roll, keeping your momentum. -Mines no longer chase teammates -Throw pickup speed 0.9s -> 0.8s -Throw strength 600 -> 720 -Throw min strength 180 -> 225 -Throw shrinking of platform you stand on 110 -> 30 -Fixed a bug where leaving a game just as it starts could put others in a soft-lock where they couldn't leave the game. -Blink gun will no longer teleport players into being squished (except if it can't find anywhere else to place the player). Note: You can still get teleported into spikes, blackholes, mines and arrows etc. -Fixed a bug where blinking a player sometimes bugged the whole game out (resulting in lag and ending of the round)

Made it significantly more difficult to hack other players. Let me know if there are any new weird consequences that I missed during testing

Patch 2.2.3 Balance changes Beam NERFS

• turn speed 25 -> 20
• Beam grounded startup time 1s -> 1.2s
• Hookshotting an aerially beaming player no longer applies gravity to them

Blink gun now teleports players to a random position when hit.

• You will not get teleported into the water or too far away from your current position.
• If you are teleported when on a platform, you will end up on a platform.
• If you are teleported in the air, you will end up in the air.
• Blink gun CD 2.5s -> 5s when hitting a player

Players no longer keep their momentum when teleporting Teleport

• The second cast of teleport now has no cooldown
• cooldown 2.5s->3s
• Teleport now works on blackholes

Missile BUFFS (It was a bit too easy to get away from missiles)

• cooldown 4s -> 4.5s

Growth/shrink ray

• Everything except players and large platforms are now resized more 0.8 -> 1.4 per hit
• shrink ray no longer has a bigger effect on black holes than growth ray

Time stop

• cooldown 8s -> 3s
• timestop cooldown is now frozen during timestop

Ability spawns now spawn less often. Spawn time 25s -> 40s

-You can now push Tesla coils and spikes with beam -You can now push the platform you are standing on with beam -fixed an error that could happen when a rolling player's platform was destroyed -Replays are no longer inaccurate for rounds with beam used -Beam will no longer sometimes miss growth-rayed players -Fixed an issue where hookshot+rock would sometimes bug out if several players were using hookshots -killing a rolling slime should now, have their on-death effect appear in the right spot -Roll should no longer randomly kill slimes that were not hit -Grapple will now dettach from rock-slimes if they are blink-gunned (instead of sending them to the stratosphere) -beam no longer changes angle when landing after getting blink-gunned

-Matchmaking should now be much more stable and have fewer weird glitches where you can't start the game, or you appear as being in more than one lobby at a time. Or you end up alone, but unable to click "find players" -beam will no longer change direction when a player is blinked or otherwise removed from a platform while casting beam. -when someone rage quits, the winner screen will no longer show up in the menu -Fixed a soft lock, that happened when starting the tutorial after someone has left -removed "discarded packet because it was too new" error (it was spamming the logs) -Beams now push things a lot more -Beams can now push Rock-players -Beams should now work correctly in timestop -Changed Spanish translation of the new button

Patch 2.2.0 ONLINE MATCHMAKING & NEW ABILITY -Added online matchmaking: There is now a button in online lobbies Note that there is no ranked-mode, since dividing the queue times further is probably a bad idea. You can play locally, or move around in the settings while queuing, but you can't play online without exiting the queue. This will be available for demo players as well (although they will not be matched against players with the full game)! The feature is still not thoroughly tested, so let me know if it works well and if the queue times are OK. Also let me know if the translation became weird in any language! -New ABILITY: BEAM -Enlarged platforms will now return to their original size after 10s (and during sudden death). The idea is to have fewer situations where the players get stuck and can't get to each other. (does not apply to shrunk platforms, or enlarged non-platforms) -edited some levels slightly -You no longer spawn inside a big asteroid on a particular map -Many slimes jumping around at once should now sound better -various online lobby fixes -Everyone is no longer disconnected when someone leaves or is kicked. It can still happen, but only due to connection errors mid-game -Game will now disconnect you from lobbies that are on a different version to avoid desyncs

Hello everyone! I have been hard at work on some new stuff for Bopl. Unfortunately, it isn't ready yet. In the meantime here are some bug fixes.. -Time-stopped objects will now push each other apart (you can no longer warp through things using the platform ability in time stop) -Player should now get stuck less often -Channeling time stop on a platform that gets destroyed no longer creates problems -Blinked platforms will now correctly enter sudden death (and start dropping when they come back from blink) -Modders can no longer join your lobby out of nowhere.

-Removed unity splash screen -Fixed some bugs in the tutorial -Smoke grenades will no longer explode like a normal grenade outside level bounds -Achievements "Crunchy" & "GET IN MY BELLY!!" will no longer be granted to everyone in an online lobby. -Fixed some weirdness that could happen with the player cursor -Fixed some bugs in collision detection, resulting in Players falling through platforms and warping unto other platforms

Patch 2.1.1 -Fixed buggy behavior that starts if you hookshot the ground and then use the platform ability -Fixed an issue where you sometimes got stuck in the biting animation -blink gunning a platform should now dettach any ropes correctly -Game no longer gets locked by a winner being marked as changing their abilities between rounds

Patch 2.1.0 New features, balance changed and bug fixes! You may have to restart steam to get it to update! Make sure you aren't playing with someone on 2.0.XX because it will lead to issues! Slimes can now eat other slimes if they are much larger (relatively) -Revive nerfs: Respawn particle speed 40 -> 30 Revive point is now always forced into level bounds A respawning player can now be attacked during the spawn animation -Invisible players can now see themselves when playing online. -Invisibility duration 10s -> 5s. -Smoke is now a smoke grenade, thrown in the same way as a normal grenade. -Smoke clouds per grenade 3 -> 4 -activated engines now detonates smoke -You can now place up to 4 engines without removing the previous one (letting you place several engines during timestop) -Drill can now correctly be gusted -Fixed a bug when dying far away from your revive point, resulting in various types of weirdness, including hovering unkillable players. -blink gunning a player will no longer move them inside of a platform -Players will no longer sometimes fall through a platform if they are inside of it -Spiking on a platform that was just destroyed, will no longer lead to an error ending the round. -Throw now counts as an offensive ability (for achievements) -The "Noice" achievement will no longer be granted to everyone in the online lobby -Surviving for a long time on orbital maps, will no longer lead to platforms teleporting around. -Mines will now arm during time stop, for the player who did the time stop (though they won't chase) -growth/shrink ray should no longer continue during timestop (considered keeping this bug in the game, but there were some situations where it negatively affected the game) -Lowered the mass of some small platforms that were way too heavy -You can no longer get achievements by watching replays -Added 2 new achievements

-Game now records replays. Your last 1000 played games will be saved in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Johan Gronvall\replays\ (should be less than ~10mb of space I added this feature mostly for bug-fixing purposes. But if you want to view them, open the files with the BoplBattle.exe (right click->choose another app->C:\Users\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Bopl Battle\BoplBattle.exe) -Borderless windowed mode now shows in the background when tabbing down -You can no longer turn on fullscreen-mode with a windows macro -You can no longer start a game when you aren't readied up (resulting in a buggy game state) -Fixed a rare error desyncing players after the first round. Resulting in parallel universes where the slimes had different abilites for different players. -Game should now be better at recovering from desyncs.
