Hey Gamers, Finally, I have an update on the NPC bug where they get stuck on corners. It’s been a long time in the making by experimenting and trying different solutions.

I have added a custom solution that hopefully fixes this problem FOREVER.

In Libritopia you manage a library by organising books, furnishing your library, helping people and keeping the library quiet. Similiar to Book Bound, except its in 3D, has multiplayer and you run a library!

Along with this bundle, I got a couple of fixes and minor updates for Book Bound. I don't think many people know that there are a couple of characters you chat to.

Scripted Npc have exclamation marks when they are ready to talk
Fixed the last Stefan dialogue so it makes sense
Added indoor light setting for Halloween update players
Fixed a minor bug with coffee machine game
Fixed a minor bug in demolishing furniture
Fixed Bryony's position so she sits on the bench
Removed bookstacks collision to reduce npc from freaking out

It’s spooky season time, including in Book Bound.

I am happy to show you guys this new Halloween/autumn update with a couple of new things:

New Halloween/horror book genre with books
New set of Halloween/autumn-themed furniture
New coffee machine mini game - a new coffee machine can now be unlocked and placed in your bookshop. Customers who sit down might want your attention to order coffee.
Halloween world overlay - new town aesthetic (can be turned off)
New Steam achievements

Don’t worry, despite being a Halloween update, this isn’t a horror game and there are no such elements.

I am always reading reviews and listening to feedback on Steam and on my Discord channel. So in the last few weeks, I have been continuously trying to bugfix. Thank you all for understanding and supporting an indie developer.

Hey Gamers, Today, I have a small update for Book Bound.

More flowers and rugs
New genre statues when you reach 100%
Some bug fixes (NPC walking and rubbish generation)
Added setting to turn off keybindings window in the bottom right corner
Updated some existing book author names
Added a reset button for the shop background effect

This is no April Fools joke, just a hotfix patch focusing on a couple of small things:

Fixed conflicting behaviour between Voomba and player (if one of them cleans first, the other got stuck)
Hide the book tracker when the day ends
Fix NPC navigation under peculiar circumstances (everyone used to walk into the void for seemingly no reason)
Fixed furniture placing when it's right next to another item but off-screen/on walls (it used to allow this, but shouldn't have)
Adjustments to NPC navigation to avoid getting stuck on corners

Book Bound 1.1 Mega Patch is out now

It's been an amazing couple of weeks since launch. Thank you so much for playing Book Bound until now. I have been reading all your feedback and took on as much as possible to shape Book Bound into a great game. So here we are. This update contains lots of changes that have been requested and I think they are pretty cool.

New cast of characters that you can chat with. Each with its own unique backstory and dialogue.
Benches are now reserved for the new cast. You will find characters of the new cast on benches.
Added a new Upgrades Menu which allows you to unlock a bunch of things (mostly things further on this list)
Added shop expansions (left and right; total size of the shop can be 3x the original now)
Added custom wall segments to create your own room (unlocks with the first shop expansion)
Added Multi-save support allows you to start new bookshops without losing the old ones
Added Self-checkout item (unlocked via upgrades menu); Customers will automatically pay and leave. You can still checkout customers by standing behind the cash register
Added Voomba station (unlocked via upgrades menu); Spawns a little robot that cleans the shop for you (Voomba station contains more upgrades)
Added Direction sign (unlocked via upgrades menu); When customers look for books and they stand near a sign, they will find the book automatically (no need to help)
Added Storage (unlocked via upgrades menu); Lets you store lots of books (12 in total)
Added a new Build menu filter for "functional" items that have abilities beyond decoration
Added character name creation when starting a new shop
Balanced the amount of rubbish generated
Improved NPC behaviours (more adjustments to make sure they don't get stuck)
Removed NPC conversation when the shop is closed (they didn’t add anything to the game)
Removed zombie NPC’s (for now)
Dialogue progression with Stefan has been reset so see the new version

Hey all, today, I am publishing the second hotfix for Book Bound with an emphasis on the NPCs (and books).

NPCs can be "clicked through" if they can't be interacted with (easier to click on shelves/books/help-needing customers behind this NPC)
NPCs avoid walking into the void. They stay in the same spot if they can't find a path
Fixed NPC dropping books at the end of the day
Fixed NPC buying books after loading the game
Fixed NPC lingering in the shop after closing (re-enforce their leaving behaviour)
Fixed NPC "skipping queue" after loading the game

Hopefully, this brings more stability to the game for you to enjoy. Thank you so much for your continued support.

Hey all, I have published the first hotfix for Book Bound. It's small but contains some important fixes:

Added a check to make sure customers leave when the day ends
Made sure that genre backgrounds don't get disabled again
Building furniture uses the correct hitbox
Workstation hitbox fixed
Fixed wrong highlighting when moving furniture using a controller
Added the ability to "point to shelf" from inside the shelf menu too (this seems to be causing a lot of confusion)
Attempt to fix picking up books around the cash register (darn you invisible Stefan) Please let me know if this is still an issue after the update.

Today, I am happy to announce the release of the second update to the demo. Here is a list of changes: Added:

New mini-game when talking to multiple people in town. Keeping them engaged convinces them to come to the shop. A new tutorial section enables this after a few days
Peak times so it gets busier in town in the afternoon
New cash registers so you can create more diverse shop designs

Improvements:

Changed some more dialogue to be better
Fixed occasionally jittering NPCs
Fixed accidental/random opening of windows

I wanted this demo to include as much possible but there are 2 limitations:

No save
Limited books and genres. Available genres are Romance and Fantasy (Scifi, Non fiction and Thriller are locked in the demo).
