Bloody night, players! Since the release of Ultimate, David and I have been reevaluating the relevance and difficulty of the Redemption game mode. I’ve always felt that five rounds might be a bit too long and repetitive, possibly even too challenging. Many recent reviews have echoed these concerns. When we originally designed Redemption, our goal was to extend the game's longevity leading up to Ultimate, while providing a clear ending instead of an infinite mode. Now, with Ultimate in play, we believe Redemption should be a fun, slightly more challenging mode, without being as lengthy or intense as Ultimate with its devilish modification system. For this reason, we are reducing the required number of rounds to win from 5 to 3. I want to congratulate everyone who conquered Redemption before this patch. You have truly redeemed your sins! Over the last four months of development, we added even more features than originally planned, such as the Sheriff, designed to help ease new players into the game.

Ultimate Gamemode

The final challenge of the Devil introduces additional mechanics to Bonesaw. At the start of each new round, you must choose a modifier (a curse) that will persist for the rest of the game. These modifiers stack, making it increasingly difficult to defeat the Devil. Changes:

• Steal Chip Rework: A stolen chip can no longer be discarded by clicking it again, it must be played. Now, when using Steal a Chip, you’ll see a preview of what can be stolen from your opponent based on the context. A red line means the chip cannot be played at the moment, while a yellow line means you can steal and use it immediately.
• Improved Local Multiplayer: Player turn identification text and mouse cursor swapping added.
• Target Aim Chip Update: The Devil will now wait for a better opening to use his chip.
• Bell Gauge % Display: The bell's gauge now shows the chances of the saw cutting. The mechanics remain unchanged, this simply adds a percentage display when you hover over the bell during your turn.
• Enhanced menu visuals.
• Improved graphics performance in Classic and Redemption modes.
• Beta Translations Added: Japanese (日本語), German (Deutsch), Portuguese (Português), and Spanish (Español).

Fixes:

• Increased odds chip will no longer preview "+1 finger up" on hand when selected.
• Fixed multiple issues with Steal a Chip.
• Pressing ESC in the menu will no longer hide the interface.
• The Split Hand Attack Chip can no longer be given to the Skeleton.
• Fixes a situation where the last skeleton hand dies with an item and triggers the saw twice in a row.
• (PublicTest) You cannot use Jackpot on your opponent anymore.
• (PublicTest) Killing a hand with Force Target applied using the Dead Hand will no longer cause a softlock.

With the Official Release Trailer out today, a new challenge draws near! The long awaited Bonesaw Ultimate game mode will be available on March 5th! Designed for experienced players who have mastered the base game, be ready to face The Devil and ALL his tricks! In this game mode, players must win 4 consecutive games to succeed. The twist? At the start of every new game, players must choose from a selection of curses, each one introducing challenging gameplay modifications. Will you risk playing with the bell’s gauge hidden, or are you taking your chances with only 2 chips in your inventory? A new cinematic level has been added to Bonesaw and players who lose the game will now suffer the consequences of their failure in the fiery depths of hell! The Skeleton Sheriff We’ve heard your feedback about the steep learning curve in Bonesaw. Jumping straight from the tutorial into a match against The Devil can be overwhelming for new players. To help players ease into the game, we’ve introduced a new opponent in Classic Bonesaw mode: The Skeleton Sheriff. Recently removed from his grave by The Devil himself, The Sheriff’s brain is rotten, and his understanding of Bonesaw is… well, let’s just say he can’t count very well. This makes him the perfect adversary for players who want to learn the rules and get familiar with the abilities of chips and power cards before facing a more formidable foe. Skelly Has A Wardrobe? In every Bonesaw match, The Skeleton (poor soul that he is) is forced to watch helplessly as the saw chops off all his fingers. Many players have grown fond of poor old Skelly and enjoy the unique gameplay he brings to the table as a passive player. To show him a little love, we’ve expanded his wardrobe with a selection of hats and overalls! With every game you play, The Devil will dig up a different skeleton with new garments to join in your torment. *Bonus: For the holiday season, Skelly might show up with a special Santa hat! For this first content update, we have added the first batch of Steam Achievements to the game! This will bring a new set of objectives for players until additional content is added. I would like to personally thank Elena Rudneva (Discord @le_rude), a dedicated fan, who volunteered to translate the entire game. Given that Bonesaw is very popular with Russian-speaking players, her help is greatly appreciated! This is an initial implementation and some corrections may follow in the coming weeks. Greetings! It is I, the Devil, and I like fingers I wish to thank all our Bonesaw players for this amazing first week since our Early Access launch. My minions (the developers) are hard at work, gathering feedback and working on additional content. Here’s a small breakdown of what was fixed / changed in the new update:

• I noticed that the effect of the card Double-Edged Fate was too powerful, and many players found winning a free point to be unfair. I have ordered my minions to adjust both the effect and name of this card. From now on, the Punishment card will only remove 1 point from your opponent.
• My dev-servants have also made a minor update to the Rob a Chip ability. Players can now play this chip to discard one of their opponent's chips without using it. After selecting which chip to steal, they can click on it once more to discard it.

• A problem was resolved that allowed the Devil (me) to ignore the Target Aim chip played on a hand when using the Split Hand Attack chip. (Was it a bug, or was I cheating?)
• My developer minions also fixed an issue where a hand would remain active at the start of the following rounds after losing 4 fingers. A hand with 4 missing fingers is a dead hand!

The Devil Version 0.15.3 Patch Notes

We’ve added an additional line in the tutorial to show the player that the book on the table opens the rulebooks. The menu interface now appears above the game interface instead of beneath it.

I have ordered my minions (the developers) to bring a first round of updates to Bonesaw. Here’s what they were forced to add in this recent update:

• The official Bonesaw rulebook has been placed on the upper-left corner of the table to allow players to access the rules in-game. I have also expanded the rulebook’s content, providing additional explanations and illustrated examples.

• My dev-slaves have added small metal pins at the center of each insert on the table where the blade appears to separate the two distinct target areas. The idea is to remove any confusion so players understand what hand is in danger and in which direction the saw might cut. The saw’s size and animations were also adjusted to better align with this new addition.
• When the saw is activated for the first time after the bell is attacked, a new animation was implemented to the blade with a unique sound. The saw jerks in place and does a distinct mechanical noise. This implementation is to communicate that the saw never strikes during its first turn.

• My minions fixed an issue where the small arrow-shaped lights on the table failed to reactivate when a hand was resurrected with the Resurrection power card.
• A problem was resolved that allowed the Devil (me) to use chips more quickly than intended after activating the Stitch Finger power card (was it a bug, or was I cheating?).
• Added missing french translations throughout the game for my future french victims I will play against.
