Your challenge is to create a high-quality, informative video showing and explaining why players should pick up (or re-pick-up) the game.

Highlight a new feature using Photo Mode! 📸

You’ve already shared some jaw-dropping Photo Mode screenshots with us, and now we’re back with another challenge: use the new Photo Mode feature to capture and highlight one of the other features introduced in the massive free 2.0 update. We’ve listed the most relevant changes in the ‘reward details’ section below.

Stylishly slay a revived boss in Titanium mode! 🤘

Ah Titanium, for when steel just won’t cut it! Blades of Fire’s massive free 2.0 update introduces the super-challenging new Titanium mode as well as the ability to revive buffed bosses only to slay them once more in Anvil Mode. Combine them for the ultimate challenge.

Show off the new weapon parts and skins! ⚔️

There are two ways to enter this reward and two corresponding prize tiers. You could enter with a simple screenshot or a short clip showing off one of the new weapon parts or skins for a smaller prize, or you could enter with a longer YouTube or TikTok video containing at least five individual clips, each highlighting a different skin or weapon part.

Show off Arcana weapon spells in a cinematic montage! ✨

It’s time to test your mettle metal! Create a slick cinematic combat montage highlighting the special effects of Adso’s new Arcana weapon spells introduced in the 2.0 update. Each video should be an absolute minimum of one-minute long, and each should contain at least five different clips slickly edited together. Feel free to include more and introduce your own creative flair.

Pet the ox in Blades of Fire!

Strong, sturdy, and reliable, the ox in Blades of Fire is a metaphor as much as a friend. It’s high time our oxen friend got some love, and the new update allows you to do just that. To win a prize, simply share a great screenshot or short clip of you petting it. We also have larger prizes that we’ll give out if anyone makes a great ox-petting YouTube compilation!

Are you ready to Forge Your Legend? Blades of Fire launches today on Steam, as well as Version 2.0! The Steam release includes Version 2.0 of the game, featuring major updates and improvements, new achievements and Steam Deck support, plus the Adventurer Pack, the Artbook, and the award-winning original soundtrack by Óscar Araujo. Version 2.0 introduces brand-new content, including... New Game Plus: Relive Aran’s adventure anew while maintaining most progression and stats. As an added challenge, enemies scale to the player’s health. Thanks to 27 New Game Plus exclusive forge statues that unlock new weapon parts, Aran will be more than ready for a fight. New Challenge Level: Titanium Difficulty: A brutal challenge recommended for only the most experienced fighter, players will battle their way through enemies with enhanced health, armour, and a 20% damage increase, and Bosses rebalanced with stricter timing-based mechanics. TRANSMUTATION SHOWCASE

Blades of Fire Version 2.0 adds Transmutation, an all-new system that allows players to convert materials directly at the forge.

Players can transmute any material into another, provided it has already been discovered during their journey. The process is simple: select the material you want to create, then choose the material you wish to convert.

Materials are grouped into tiers, with more lower-tier materials needed to transmute into a higher-tier material. Conversely, higher-tier materials can also be used to produce more lower-tier materials. 

Transmutation allows you to rebalance your inventory and turn excess resources into the exact materials your next weapon needs.

The time has finally come! Are you ready to Forge Your Legend? From the team at MercurySteam and 505 Games comes Blades of Fire, launching May 14th, 2026, here on Steam.

FORGE YOUR LEGEND

Play as Aran de Lira, the last warrior able to forge true steel in a world where metal turns to stone. Survival depends on patience, understanding, and commitment to the weapons you choose to create.    Combat is deliberate, weighty, and unforgiving. Weapons are forged with intent and permanently shaped by your choices. Progress comes from understanding your enemy and the blade you forged to face them. DEMO AVAILABLE NOW!

To celebrate today’s announcement, our community can jump into Blades of Fire starting today with a dedicated demo. Launching as part of the upcoming Steam Next Fest, our demo offers several hours of gameplay, letting you experience the art of forging your own weapons, our unique combat system, and a face-to-face encounter with a big troll. (What’s not to love?!) What’s more, your progress from the demo will carry over to the full game at launch.

STEAM 2.0 – CONTENT AND IMPROVEMENTS

The Steam release includes “Version 2.0” of Blades of Fire, which features major updates and improvements, plus the Adventurer Pack, the Artbook, and the award-winning original soundtrack by Óscar Araujo.  The Version 2.0 content will be released on May 14th as a free update.
