Gameplay & Balance

Shoebill

Increased damage from 55 > 60.

Improvements

Matchmaking improvements for faster queue times.
Failing to even connect to a server won't give you a matchmaking cooldown anymore.
Added an attack speed stat to the inventory.

Bug Fixes

Matchmaking

Fixed a matchmaking bug causing players to not backfill into games properly if they were available.
Fixed a bug causing your three closest regions to sometimes not work correctly.

Combat & Gameplay

Fixed a bug where the game would end in a draw if any teams drew, even if another team had a higher score.

Visuals

Fixed a bug with the camera lens effect not filling the screen properly when using different FOVs.
Fixed a bug with character effects not being removed at the end of a match (low health etc. no longer shows on the bird wire at the end of the match).

Inventory

Fixed the damage stat in the inventory being inaccurate and showing 2.5 for all birds.

Coming soon: Custom game, Owl & Eagle fixes are coming in the next patch. Known issue: We're investigating users from certain regions being unable to connect to game servers. If anyone is getting crashes or has any other issues please reach out to support and we'll investigate, thanks!

Gameplay & Balance

General

Parry now works against RMB abilities.
Abilities with charges, currently just Guano on the Seagull, now have a 1s cooldown between uses. The ability slot now shows this cooldown with a countdown so it's clear when your next throw is ready.

Seagull

The chip meter now decays when out of combat: 3 seconds after your last confirmed gain, stored chips drain at 20/s.
Filling the chip meter now triggers Chip Frenzy automatically, the manual press F to eat has been removed.
Egg scoring no longer contributes to filling the Chip Frenzy meter.
Increased chip meter max total from 100 > 127.5
Increased chip meter gain per point of damage dealt from 0.6 > 0.85
Frenzy duration decreased from 10s > 5s

Eagle

You can no longer attack whilst grabbing someone in Talon Dive.
You can now press Talon Dive first and aim downward after. Shallow or level launches get a 3 second grace window to pitch into the dive before it auto cancels, steep launches are unchanged.
Added a Talon Dive aim preview. While winding up, the crosshair shows your grab readiness with a pulsing LOOK DOWN hint that clears once you're aiming steep enough.
Increased floor slam damage from 30 > 50.
Reduced the sound effect cooldown on Eagle cries.

Pigeon

Increased Wing Clap range from 420 > 600.
You no longer have to hold Wing Clap for 1.5s or more to disable dash on other players, the disable duration now scales with how much damage it does / how long it's held.
Added a screen effect when you're hit by Wing Clap, similar to other CC abilities, so it's clear your dash is temporarily disabled.
Added new impact VFX on players who have their dash disabled so it's visible to all players.

Improvements

Added new settings to change the colors of enemies/teammates to match their team colors. Use classic mode to keep the original colours.
Pressing ESC/B while queueing now opens Settings instead of leaving the queue. Use the LEAVE button to cancel matchmaking, so a stray back press can't dump you out of the queue.
Improved clarity in the inventory when equipping different cosmetics.
Made it more clear if a lobby is private or public in custom games.
Announcer voice lines will play slightly less frequently.
Matchmaking lobby rows now use icons for mute and add friend instead of text buttons.

Bug Fixes

Combat & Gameplay

Fixed a bug where you could get permanently stuck if you experienced bad net conditions during death/respawn.
Fixed a bug where you couldn't attack in a duel if you grabbed another Eagle as the attacker.

Visuals

Fixed some textures not loading correctly.
Fixed an issue with some bird meshes being offset too far from their capsule collision.
Fixed a bug with the screen lens effect when using barrel roll. It should now work correctly on any monitor aspect ratio.

Maps & Environment

Fixed debug nest placement eggs showing in nests.

Store, Cosmetics & Unlocks

Fixed an issue with store purchases getting stuck.
Fixed a bug where the scrap all duplicates button wasn't working.
Fixed a bug with emotes being unresolved in the store and not equippable.
Fixed a bug with not being able to equip wing trails from the inventory.

Audio

Fixed crate UI sound effects not being in the UI sound class.

Stability

Fixed a crash on AMD systems when using a monitor plugged into the motherboard, or with dual monitor setups.

Reduced Seagull primary fire damage from 20 > 15.
Reduced Seagull chip frenzy buff gain per damage from 0.6 > 0.5.
Reduced Seagull chip frenzy duration from 10 > 8.
Added a crowd control check so layered Owl blinds are applied at reduced effectiveness.

Eagle Talon Dive Changes

Increased Eagle initial hit grab damage on Talon Dive from 10 > 30.
Players can now escape from a Talon grab by holding primary fire.
Now able to attack whilst grabbing someone in Talon Dive.
Fixed a bug where you couldn't attack in a duel if you grabbed another Eagle as the attacker.
Fixed a bug where no damage was being applied when grabbing someone as an Eagle in Talon Dive and smacking them off the floor.

Improvements

Menu store/inventory optimizations, fixes and improved clarity.
MOTD is now shown on the lobby screen.
Added a heads-up modal when queuing for too long without finding a game, suggesting to queue on more/different regions.

Bug Fixes

Maps & Environment

Fixed a bug where eggs were spawning too low inside nests, making them hard to pick up.
Fixed the Coliseum loading screen not showing.

Combat

Fixed a bug with kill streaks not working correctly.

Store, Cosmetics & Unlocks

Fixed an issue that prevented the Legendary guarantee from working correctly for Golden Egg Crates. Affected players should be fixed on your next login and will be compensated.
Fixed some issues with the store causing failed purchases and requiring a game restart to receive bought store items.
Fixed an issue with local currency being inaccurate in some regions.
You should now slowly start receiving any unlocks you're missing after finishing games.

Menu

Fixed a bug allowing players to choose a bird on the menu they didn't own.

Localization

Various localization bug fixes.

Gameplay & Balance

Highrise reduced in size by roughly 25%. We heard you guys felt it was too big and we did too! Let us know how this feels now.
Match length increased slightly.
Pigeon Wing Clap now correctly scales with hold time, dealing 20 to 60 damage based on charge.
MVP renamed to MVB.
Updated Highrise egg spawns.
Indicators added to the minimap to show if players/eggs are above or below you.
Indicators added to eggs to see them easier
Indicators added to your home nest to locate it faster.

Improved picking up eggs detection.
Fixed right-click abilities using your movement direction instead of your aim rotation.
Fixed character collision being unintentionally enabled, which caused movement desync issues.
Fixed being able to use some abilities while dead.
Fixed getting stuck in the flight take-off / walk animation while grounded.
Fixed not being able to pickup eggs in the training mode.

Maps & Environment

Fixed a death zone in one of the wind updrafts on Forest.
Fixed updraft placements on several maps.
Fixed Vietnam water collision.
Fixed collisions on some maps where eggs could get stuck.

Audio

Fixed parry SFX not playing sometimes.
Fixed announcer audio bugs.

VFX

Fixed Pigeon VFX playing in the wrong location.
Fixed cash rain emote VFX.
Reduced Shoebill Guardian Wings and Pigeon UAV VFX for less clutter.

Modes & Matchmaking

Fixed the Training Range not spawning you in immediately and not assigning you a team.
Fixed vote-to-skip not working correctly when skipping maps.
Fixed staying connected to voice chat when leaving a matchmaking lobby quickly.
Fixed players not backfilling into already-active lobbies in some cases.

Known Issues

We've heard the issues on parties, we'll be improving this system ready for release.
We've seen an issue where in some games tend to freeze up, if you're affected by this issue please let us know!
We're aware that picking up eggs can feel difficult for some players. We've put a fix in this update but if it's still bad, please let us know. We're investigating, and we'd love to see clips of it happening to you. Please share them in our Discord
We'll be doing a full pass on all birds after the demo, such as changing specific birds glide speed and damage, to make them all feel unique.
We've seen quite a few players attempt to play on controller, unfortunately we weren't able to get full support in for the demo, but it's coming for release!
