Bento Blocks news & patch notes

We would like to share with you that Bento Blocks has been updated, it is now Steam Deck Verified and fully playable on your favorite controllers.

Updates:

• Steam Deck verified.

• Full controller support (Steam Deck, DualSense Controller, and Xbox Controller)

• Improved support for touch input.

• Improved automatic language detection.

• Improved Windows backend stability, this should resolve startup crashes.

• Fixed a crash that could occur during extended play sessions.

• Fixed a Spanish translation error.

It's been over 3 months since our launch, and we can't thank all of you guys enough for supporting us.

• General performance improvements to the game. 🚀

• Fixed an issue where some decorations behaved incorrectly at higher frame rates.

• All images have been moved to a new format with better support and fewer visual artefacts.

  • This change is why the update is fairly large (around 200 MB+).

• Fixed a rare crash that could occur during very long play sessions.

• Added a \ branch. If you run into serious issues with this update, you can switch back via Steam’s beta settings... please let us know if you do. 🙏

• Fixed a couple of levels in chapter 7 that had unintended solutions (sorry to anyone who already made guides 🙏)

• We are still investigating the missing dll issue that was reported, for now we've removed the DLL file that was occasionally flagged by some anti-virus software. If you were affected by this issue, please try reinstalling the game with anti-virus temporarily disabled.

• Please send crash reports if you see them so we're able to help!

• Performance improvements on low-end devices.

• We're taking a week break, will share future plans with you all. Thank you all for playing Bento Blocks and supporting us! ❤️

• Fixed settings values often getting reset to default.
• Fixed held lock button from getting stuck on enabled.
• Made the interact with all decorations achievement a little easier.

What began as a game-jam project by a team of three has gathered more attention than we ever imagined, and we’re thrilled to finally share the game with everyone.
