Leaving Early Access

Dear bards, you have supported us all these years, and it seems we have grown up.

We were able to finish what we started, and it only took us 3 years in early access instead of the previously announced couple of months ) Your ideas and your love for Bard allowed us to go through this whole journey together, making Bard what it is today. And it is worth it!

Deep story

The fog of uncertainty has been dispelled. All the signs have come together in one place. 

Jelly, books, guilds — all this is the legacy of a long-gone civilization of gnomes.

Only one piece of the puzzle is missing to complete the picture - the answer to the question, where did the gnomes go? 

Prepare your equipment, gather the best of the best, and muster your courage. 

The final journey lies in a deep story, deep in the sea.

Coda

After Chapter 10 of the ballad, you can write one of 20 codas.

The coda is the finale of the work, but you can add to it endlessly if you have enough inspiration.

While building castles on their lands, lords discover secret passages to infinitely large dungeon of once powerful Goblin King. Bards are already rushing to hire adventurers to explore this secret structure. Cunning Goblin King has hidden his treasures in smelly cheese, but he didn't realize that it's a delicacy for some! Finding them won't be difficult at all.

Also bards will be waiting for 4 new DLCs:

• Emerald Key - set for those who want to shine in each of their adventures!

• Animal Lover - set will help you take better care of your pets.

• Artist - set of a true fine art connoisseur!

• Builder - make your workers happy with tasty sweets and fresh outfits, such stylish work bards have never seen before!

Additions and changes:

• You can now hire heroes of any faction into one squad.

• Workers are available in faction menu for painting.

• Enemy strength has been slightly reduced to zone 75.

• Added a tooltip describing a book that has not yet been explored.

• Quest becomes available from zone 46, instead of 66.

• Additional option disables smoke from grill hand, among other things.

Where did the dwarves go?

• Fixed a bug with inability to single improve multipliers in arena.
• Added shortened views for spice, jelly dwarfs, and magic stone selection menus.
• Confirmation action is now required before building in your lands.
• Next to the hero's weapon information, there is now a tooltip with critical damage information.
• In the squad window, when dragging an item, you can keep the mouse clamped on the item, and take a quantity greater than 1. (Experimental feature)

Dear Bards!

• Automatic use of soup works with line "The power in food!".
• Drawing an illustration does not overwrite lines from previous chapter if they were printed by press in either mode.
• In tarot card THE WORLD, cheese is changed to carrots if there is a line "A world without cheese we will build".
• Line "Line up in the turtle!" will trigger if a free legionnaire appears after it.
• Fixed description of hints in arena menu. For maximum upgrade, it is now written to hold instead of .
• Fixed a bug with incorrect upgrading of hero characteristics for jelly, if player himself chose what to upgrade.
• Fixed a bug with old saves not being able to hire base classes in new versions.

Enemies are not slumbering. Mages of ancient knowledge have decided to join confrontation to help fight forces of evil:

On Halloween Eve, guild of mages will open its doors.

• Total number of spices is now written in spices list.
• Menu for obtaining jelly gnomes, stones, and spices now shows number of choices remaining at the top.
• KNIGHT OF SWORDS card now includes dragon slayers in its condition.
• Next 3 tarot cards are guaranteed not to repeat previous 3.
• Quest information can now be scrolled in quest menu, if there are many quests completed before the concert/tour and they don't fit in height.
• When selecting quests, information on which zone the last quest completion corresponds to is now displayed.
• Fixed a bug with killing second dragon in the same zone.
• Priests now cannot heal more than 2 times in a row.
• Starting a new game will not send you to camp for lack of food until you buy soup, leave to camp, or toggle *no soup* option.
• Auto gnome status does not reset after adventure is completed.
• THE HANGED MAN will no longer issue a flag to hero, if he is a only one who can attack.
• THE HANGED MAN no longer issues a black flag to not undead heroes.
• Giving stones to Priests of Light and Dark priest is now impossible. THE HANGED MAN also does not give stones and flowers to these classes.

Bard is celebrating an anniversary! September 22 is the day of the game's release to Early Access!

• Fixed a bug where getting inspiration wrote less quantity than it actually gave.
• Improved combat system. Enemies now hit the nearest enemy based on their positioning on the line, rather than their current distance.
• Adjusted the text of note bonuses and arena multipliers if candy house enhancements are purchased.
