Mostly minor UI updates here.
Full/Windowed/Windowed Fullscreen options now available in 'Monitor Options'
VSync on/off added
Frame Rate limit settings added
Resolution changes coming soon
Some UI text size/alignment/cleanup adjustments
UI scaling implemented which should show no visible difference, but was needed for resolution options
I am still working on the resolution options, mostly being careful here in that I need to be sure I don't bust the UI, and that only appropriate resolutions are made available. I want to be cautious here, but also want to keep making updates on features.
Display settings are here! Or, at least, UE engine graphics settings. I know its been asked for and I needed to make progress on that. Users can use the Display Options now for not only Fullscreen/Windowed, but the other usual UE5 scaling settings, such as Shadow Quality, Anti Aliasing, Post Processing, Effects, View Distance, Illumination, Textures, and Reflections.
Fair Warning, you can set Illumination below High, but doing so will essentially disable Lumen and lighting will be mostly dark.
More to come. I think I will have to pull off something that looks a little different for the Resolution menu, and I may have to figure out if I can get aspect ratio changes in as well. Happy wandering!
a few missing collisions fixed.
players can no longer climb the bookshelves.
some very minor modifications to layout in Consumerism. slowly trying to improve the 'boring' spots, while maintaining original form.
fixes:
punting the ball out of existence should no longer trigger a level reset.
wanderers can no longer wedge-clip under the beginning of the spiral stair in level 5.
IF a wanderer finds a noclip, and falls off, all levels should have a 'send em home' trigger.
Full Screen and Windowed Mode are new options added, in the new 'Display Options' menu.
Tranquility had some collision issues, and a small area needed some polish.
More minor collision fixes. A little polish on a few level spots that needed it. If I continue to 'add polish', I will generally not be making huge architecture changes, mostly just punching up the scene visuals by adding a little detail or realism.
fixed a few more wall gaps. got dang.
cleaned up some menu buttons for the new footsteps option I added in 1.04.
opened a path in level 2, i've been noticing people seem to get stuck in a loop in the dark area. the path forward in that level is a little easier to find now, while keeping the general areas all essentially intact.
Who loves minor updates? I do!
some geometry cleanup, pretty tiny stuff.
Mostly, I added a Game Option, to Enable or Disable Footstep/Walking sounds. I think a few players had mentioned wanting that as a feature. Honestly, I think its a thing across lots of liminal space games, that the footsteps get bothersome sometimes. Upon trying it myself, I found I liked that experience too, so I am glad for the input! It should On/Off both footsteps and water wading sounds.
Main fix this time around, is VHS spawn rates. Thanks to the diligent work of user Henrimagne, it was found that tapes were not spawning right, with uneven selection and one place wasn't even getting chosen. All tapes should now correctly spawn between 1 of 6 locations.
Also, more collision fixes. Thank you all for finding cracks to leap off the map from!
Looking forward, I do want to implement a 'footsteps on/off' option in gameplay options, I would say this would be the next feature add, hopefully in the next week or so as I think that should be a fairly quick write-up. And, since this update fixed the tape spawn, I am considering increasing the possible locations to maybe 8? Thoughts?
somewhat minor update!
I mentioned in a comment before, but, the audio/headbob on buttons were flopped, thats fixed.
Info page shows better Level Info.
The VHS Shelf is a little neater and shows off the VHS art a little more. I love those sleeves.
Added a visual cue in one level to where i suspect a stubborn hiding spot might be missed.
A new Achievement?? Only the most curious of explorers might find it...
Its not much but its a little fun, and I had a 'thanks' that needed saying, and this is my way of doing that.
05/08/2026 update!
improved the zoom feature to be more dynamic.
VHS settings should now save to your save slot and load correctly on game load.
patched up a few level boundary issues.
made the camera bloom optional.
as of today I do still need to push these to the demo build as well but that will come shortly.
first 'update' after launch!
v1.00a,b,c were minor cleanups I had updated after demo release, like being able to walk over trim boards.
v1.00d- cleaned up a few little things. there was a jacked up stair in the pool level that needed a collision cleanup. also, explorers can no longer jump the gaps in the hub.
