The total TU 2.5 patch sizes are estimated around 35 GB, with slight possible variations depending on platform.
\ Added a new option in the main menu for “From the Ashes”. This can be accessed without playing the main game’s story, allowing newcomers to jump right into the expansion.
\ Added “Character Overrides” and “Ikran Paint” sections in the customization screens. These can be used to equip new cosmetics added with From the Ashes.
\ Cosmetics now specify their compatibility with the main game and From the Ashes when selected.
\ Resolved the issue where loading would get stuck at 18%.
\ Resolved several high-occurrence crashes. We will continue to investigate additional crashes and will communicate about further fixes when we can.
\ The “Inspect” screen for ikran cosmetics now allows panning and rotation of the ikran. This is accessible by pressing the “Pose” button.
\ When changing body paints, the camera no longer zooms in on the character’s legs.
\ Fixed missing textures on trees and the environment, as well as flickering textures on character models.
\ Fixed the facial animation for the ikran call.
\ Previously purchased items are no longer missing from the inventory.
\ Eating a dish during “A Victory Celebration” no longer causes permanent debuffs.
\ Additional Na’vi language adjustments (e.g. P’asuk is now Pasuk)
\ Improved performance on 50-series Nvidia graphics cards.
These are issues we are aware of and actively investigating. We are following online conversation and tracking newly reported issues or bugs. Thank you for your feedback.
\ Story progression for From the Ashes is wrongfully displayed as 90%, even after completing all quests.
\ Several Journal entries are not unlocked despite meeting the unlock conditions.
\ Ikran Paints menu contents and equipped paint will disappear when entering a co-op session. To restore them, we recommend leaving the co-op session and restarting the game.
\ Bladewing Moth Wings may not upgrade item rarity if the game is played offline.
\ Item quantity appears as 0 in the mailbox for all items received from the Weekly Crafting Materials Pack. This is visual only, and you will still receive the items.
\ Some Clan Contribution quests do not properly update and cannot be completed.
\ Crafting materials and cooked meals cannot be claimed from the Mail screen if the player already has one in the Pouch. It also displays the message “Item is already claimed”, which is erroneous. The items can be claimed if the one in the Pouch is used.
\ Crafting materials and food dish containers can be looted when the pouch is full, causing the loot contained inside to disappear.
\ Songcord and character models do not appear in the Songcord menu.
\ Several UI / Localization issues.
\ Deleting a saved game, then pressing “continue” on another save using the keyboard will launch a new game instead. This issue does not appear when using the mouse instead of the keyboard.
\ Current selected Windows refresh rate is not recognized – the game always displays with your monitor's maximum supported refresh rate.
\ The loading screen for transitioning to The Skybreaker story pack takes longer than intended.
\ Using Ray Reconstruction with the DLSS4 transformer model may cause slight visual issues at certain points.
\ When confirming video settings, the pop-up window’s “Revert” option does not work as intended.
In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes, the Kinglor Forest is changed – fire now ravages the previously lush landscape, and the Western Frontier’s Na’vi clans are scattered. The RDA has returned, strengthened by the aggressive Ash clan warband. By exerting their influence on the world, the RDA & Ash clan are making it more hostile & deadly. It’s time to look the enemy in the eyes and stand your ground.
In their hunt for the members of the Resistance, the RDA’s troops return to lay waste to the Kinglor Forest. You’ll experience a more dangerous world, whether you’re riding your ikran or traversing on foot.
Because the RDA’s mission is to exterminate the Resistance presence, they’re bringing in even stronger units. In From the Ashes, So’lek will have to face Skel Suits for the first time – soldiers whose exosuits allow them to stand as tall as a Na’vi.
Joining the Skel Suit units are the powerful Hellhounds, dog-like robots developed by the RDA to hunt down and eliminate Na’vi. These units usually fight in packs and use shocking electric melee attacks – with some units even self-detonating – to stun and eliminate their target.
There are also new, Ash-influenced AMP units joining the RDA’s arsenal. Some, like the Breacher, are made to close the distance and carry shotguns with incendiary rounds. Others carry RPGs or even Sniper Rifles, providing significant threats at all ranges, from all angles. The Ash Na’vi’s influence led to changes in the design of the AMPs – the more decorated an AMP is, the stronger they are in combat.
In both From the Ashes and Avatar: Fire & Ash, the newest threat is represented by other Na’vi, in the form of the Mangkwan clan. These Na’vi are ruthless, their brutality and their rebellion towards Eywa sets them apart from the other clans. In our expansion, So’lek will need to face members of the Ash clan and learn to face the difficult reality of having to fight his own kind to protect his new family – the Sarentu.
Leading the Mangkwan are several terrifying and highly specialized warriors. Encountering them makes for diverse encounters and cinematic set pieces, challenging So’lek in different and unexpected ways.
Their leader is Wukula, a fanatic who has unfinished business with So’lek. He seeks to personally defeat So’lek and bring his head back to Varang.
Rakx is an Ash Na’vi who takes great pleasure in causing pain to Pandora’s animals. She bonds ikran and pushes them relentlessly, putting them in harm’s way. She does not mourn their deaths, instead feeling only frustration at what she views as weakness. Her repeated bonding pushes her to enact greater and greater acts of cruelty.
Zari is a highly dangerous Ash Na’vi whose expertise with a sniper rifle impressed Miles Quaritch, and who seeks to prove her usefulness to Varang. Having been hurt in a previous attack on a Wind Trader gondola, she has found a new calling in the power and potential of the rifle.
Ka’sem is one of the more battle-scarred Mangkwan. He enacts violence effectively, but worries that his age weakens him. Venturing into the Kinglor Forest is about proving to himself that he can still carry orders out with unabashed efficiency.
Joining the main Mangkwan antagonists in the hunt for So’lek and the remaining Sarentu are a warband of Mangkwan Raiders – toughened warriors with increased agility whose sole purpose is to destroy the Resistance and its members.
There’s a lot more in store when From the Ashes releases on December 19th. Over the past few weeks, we’ve shown you only a small chunk of what we have in store. However, the reveals don’t end here. Stay tuned!
Our 2-year anniversary is almost here! We’re hoping you’ll celebrate alongside us by diving back into the Western Frontier, in third person or New Game+. With Title Update 2.0, all players can enjoy the game from a third person view, letting you see the world from a new perspective! You can switch between third person and first person easily – by default:
Press the J key on PC.
Hold the touchpad on PS5.
Hold the “View” button on Xbox Series X/S.
Alongside third person, you’ll also be able to experience Frontiers of Pandora’s main story in New Game+. When you replay the main story in New Game+, you carry over all of your gear and skills from your regular (completed) playthrough, and get access to a new skill tree for the Sarentu, as well as higher level gear, which you will need to defeat New Game+’s stronger enemies. To access New Game+:
Load a saved game where you’ve completed the final mission in the main story (“Last Strike”).
Open the Options menu – you should see a “New Game+” option at the top of the menu.
After selecting “New Game+”, you will be prompted to select a Save Slot which will become the New Game+ save slot. Once that’s done, your New Game+ journey will begin.
Notable changes or improvements:
\ Added an option for a Third Person perspective.
\ Added New Game+.
\ To improve the Na’vi language accuracy in the game, we’ve introduced several changes to text. The most impactful one is that “Eetu” is now called “Itu” to reflect a more accurate spelling of the character’s name.
\ Fixed missing landmarks on the Map.
\ Various minor fixes.
\ Introduced Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 4 upscaling options.
Known Issues:
These are issues we are aware of and actively investigating.
\ Character Overrides menu is available but empty – it will be populated when From the Ashes releases.
\ If you are trying to restore a New Game+ save files from the “Restore Save” menu, the saves available to restore are not clearly marked as “New Game+”
\ During the quest “The Wandering Clan”, the direhorse occasionally gets stuck when dismounted and remounted.
\ You can throw grenades as you fire the Staff Sling.
\ In co-op, Ping icons persist in the world instead of disappearing.
\ Various UI and localization issues.
\ Occasional crash when exiting the game if Frame Generation is enabled
\ Crash on startup when XeSS Frame generation is enabled
\ Frame Generation cannot be activated while the Steam Overlay is on.
\ FSR3 Frame Generation causes stuttering when used in Borderless Fullscreen.
\ Switching from Borderless to Fullscreen while Frame Generation is on causes the framerate to drop significantly.
In Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes, the Kinglor Forest has been ravaged by the RDA, who have allied with the Ash clan – an aggressive Na’vi warband that go against Eywa and spread destruction. Our team’s work on the world of the upcoming expansion is reflected in every step of your journey – with the lush Kinglor Forest having been scorched and twisted by the presence of these new enemies. As fire overtakes sections of the forest, your surroundings become more dangerous.
In the Kinglor Forest, new landmarks cover the landscape, as evidence of the invasion. While fighting against devastation, you will also discover an entirely new sub-region, The Ravines.
As you begin So’lek’s journey in From the Ashes, you’ll be greeted by familiar, lush vistas. To celebrate the expansion, we have also updated the biomes, weather and lighting to make the Western Frontier even more beautiful – and to reflect the time of peace & calm that So’lek and the Sarentu enjoyed after the events of Secrets of the Spires.
That time of peace comes to an end with From the Ashes. The presence of the Ash clan and the reinforced RDA bring destruction. As you progress through the story and side missions, the world will progressively change, responding to your actions. Certain areas will be covered in embers and ash, losing their innate colors and bioluminescent glow, affecting both the flora, fauna and the environment itself.
Familiar locations will be changed by the RDA and the Ash clan. Key landmarks (such as the Aranahe Hometree) will be taken over and covered in Ash clan markings, paint and specific, gruesome decorative elements that reflect their brutal nature. So’lek will revisit several important places on his mission to protect those he cares about and will lay witness to the transformation the new threat has brought.
Over the course of the story, you will discover an all-new subregion – The Ravines. This hand-crafted area is built with movement and traversal in mind. Either on foot or on the back of a direhorse, you can explore several paths throughout the region. With added verticality and diverse terrain, the region consists of twisted basalt formations, unique sights and, of course, dangers to face.
There are many things to discover within the deep canyons of the Ravines - and it's up to you to uncover everything.
The RDA remain heavily focused on large-scale military operations to occupy Na’vi territory and exploit Pandora’s resources. However, empowered by the Ash clan and pushed by Colonel Quaritch, their top priority in From the Ashes is to secure the Kinglor Forest and put an end to the Resistance’s efforts in the area.
To accomplish their mission, they’ve created a complex military network, allowing them to remain armed & well-supplied while they deploy new tools and weaponry against the Na’vi.
This supply network is a great strength for the RDA but can also become a weakness. As you play, you will discover new military hubs and forts that have specific themes. For example, certain camps gather and distribute fuel. Destroying a fuel depot might lead to a higher concentration of explosives in another location, giving you more means of defeating the RDA. The more locations you take on, the better your odds are when taking on the forts. These are strongholds that are heavily defended, but your actions can weaken them significantly.
That is all for this week - the Kinglor Forest is under threat, and everything we mentioned today represents an additional reason for So’lek to take up the fight against the Ash clan & RDA alliance. Looking ahead, preorders for this new expansion are available now, should you want to get into the action as soon as we launch. Otherwise, From the Ashes is out December 19th!
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes is launching December 19th, which means it’s time to slightly pull back the curtain and tell you more about what you can experience in the upcoming expansion.
Today, we’re here to discuss how combat & stealth are different in From the Ashes, but there’s a lot more to come. Here’s everything you can look forward to throughout the next few weeks:
To ensure we could tell So’lek’s story as authentically as possible, through dedicated narrative moments and gameplay additions that reflect his journey, From the Ashes is a single-player only expansion. He is a character driven by grief and vengeance, forced to face the new Ash Clan & RDA alliance to protect his loved ones. The systems and gameplay mechanics we’ll discuss today were crafted and balanced to work best in a single player environment.
To reflect So’lek’s nature and motivation in all aspects of the expansion, especially when it comes to combat, the experience is darker, and built from the ground up for Third Person, aiming for deeper emotional stakes and an expanded combat experience.
So’lek is going up against a much more hostile world than you’ve experienced in the Main Game. However, the last Na’vi of the Trr’ong clan will not let himself be overcome by the new threat. As you step into the role of the veteran warrior, new skills and abilities will enhance your experience.
In his hunt for revenge, So’lek can deliver devastating Finishers to defeat his enemies. These finishers also play into his other abilities.
Finishers represent the full strength of a Na’vi Warrior. They can be performed in stealth, but they also function as a tool in the midst of combat, allowing you to dispatch enemies quickly and keep momentum going.
You can perform Finishers on the ground, or when engaging in aerial combat. These can be enhanced through So’lek’s dedicated skill tree, making him even more lethal and enabling other powerful moves, providing bursts of healing and more.
Finishers work in tandem with another new ability – one that lets So’lek unleash his fury. By performing finishers and defeating enemies, you fill up the Warrior Senses meter, which, in turn, makes performing more deadly finishers possible and enhancing the rest of So’lek’s combat abilities, as well.
Whenever you deal (or take) damage, and when you defeat enemies, your Warrior Senses meter will increase. When it’s full, you can trigger Warrior Senses, a powerful combat-focused ability giving So’lek increased damage and specific temporary buffs.
When activating Warrior Senses, you gain temporary immunity to damage, higher damage output and a hefty XP bonus. Throughout the expansion, you can spend skill points to upgrade Warrior Senses, turning So’lek into a veritable one-man army, all while enhancing both Warrior Senses’ effectiveness and its intrinsic ties to the Finishers.
So’lek has natural instincts that allow him to react much faster than normal. To represent this, we’re also introducing Slow Motion – an ability that slows down time while you aim, allowing you to hit weak spots with increased precision, or to clearly read the battlefield and pick your next target.
Slow Motion can change the rhythm of combat, giving you the upper hand when surrounded. Pair it with Warrior Sense and look out for opportunities to perform finishers – to make sure you’re never out of options in a fight.
Before diving into battle, or even in the middle of it, So’lek can make use of his honed and much-improved Na’vi Senses.
In the Main Game, Na’vi Senses allowed the Sarentu to spot enemies & clues, as well as track and mark threats. When using Na’vi Senses, So’lek has a better awareness of his surroundings, with improved visibility of important elements. Additionally, enemies you mark while in Na’vi Senses are easier to track and follow, giving So’lek an edge when staying hidden. These improvements, alongside dedicated skills, make stealth an increasingly effective playstyle.
To represent the strong bond between So’lek and his ikran, Ìley, we have improved his abilities in From the Ashes.
Now, you can call Ìley in combat, seamlessly leaping on his back for a different approach, or to rain arrows from above. As you fly, you can perform aerial Finishers on some flying RDA units, or launch yourself directly into a Finisher.
Ìley will come to your aid as well – be on the lookout for him harassing enemies while you’re dominating the battlefield.
We are looking forward to showing you more gameplay from the expansion in the next few weeks. Keep an eye out on our socials and mark your calendars! The full Gameplay Walkthrough of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes is happening on November 20th!

Yes, you need to own the main game or have an active Ubisoft+ Premium subscription to play From the Ashes, but you do not need to complete the main game’s story to access the expansion. All owners of From the Ashes can play it directly from the main menu without playing the main game’s story. To account for this, we’ve included a short recap video of the story so far.
By purchasing either the “From the Ashes Edition” or “Complete Edition”, you will instantly unlock the current version of the main game and be able to play immediately. The From the Ashes expansion will release on December 19, 2025.
