The thing is, if you had any upgraded cards in your hand and just wanted to upgrade the rest, this feature were changing the whole deck to default upgrades, the ones in the top. Now it is fixed, and you won't be unpleasantly surprised in the fight. Death of an enemy unit caused by Stone of Rivers item were blocking the spot completely 'till the end of the fight. Now it should work correctly. NEW GAME MODE

Some players have expressed their desire to continue playing after finishing the main story, and now they can do so in Free Game mode, which becomes available immediately after the credits. For those who have already completed the game you simply need to load the latest save, skip the final dialogue, a cinematic and credits, and the new mode will be unlocked. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/c9a7056c1c1033171e859c85d9d72feeaf1cf6f1.png What does it look like? In this mode, you will have access to all tournament battles, including the champions, and you can attempt to complete them with a deck of your choice. However, it's worth mentioning that the difficulty of the battles will be significantly increased to match the level of the final tournament. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/2bf76af371efdb9ea6132a7024ab65e48a48e116.png This means that the opponents in the new mode not only receive stat boosts but also gain new abilities incorporated into their upgrade trees. For example, the Guardian gains Barrier and Regeneration, the Battle Sorcerer obtains Counterattack, and the Ranger deals additional damage to the enemy commander. This approach is intended to significantly change the battle experience, as some old strategies may no longer work. It's also important to remember that not all battles in the game can be completed using the same deck, so don't forget to experiment and adapt to the circumstances. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/c12ae64891b57d4424d83517cb3976310c7c0adf.png In addition to that, in the new mode attempts are disabled, and all previous results are reset. If you missed any battles or forgot to claim rewards during the story campaign, you can still do so in Free Game mode. The same applies to battle achievements, as long as you're not playing in Story Mode. Don’t forget that the difficulty level can always be adjusted directly in the game by accessing the Escape menu on the tournament screen. However, the most significant addition to the Free Game mode is undoubtedly a new deck — the Enses deck.

ENSES DECK

The thing is, this deck was initially not intended for gameplay and was poorly developed, lacking sufficient synergy or unique features. We put a lot of effort into changing that, and as a result, the deck that players will receive is immensely different from the one present in the story campaign. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/037f28e6c0447b7e574128eb871b5f8ea1404c93.jpg Firstly, we redesigned the icons of Enses to distinguish them easier from each other. Enses also retain their original trait — they all have additional protection against ranged attacks. Additionally, they have received a speed boost, making them as mobile as the Berkanan or Bandit decks. Another important feature of the new deck is the absence of unit upgrades. This means they don't gain new abilities nor have the same choices as other factions, but Enses are powerful enough to compensate for this. https://i.imgur.com/oUwUtnC.gif In exchange, they have another significant feature: Enses are versatile and can use support cards from ANY faction. Yes, you have read that correctly. Do you want to use poison of the Bandits, Berkanan counterattack, or Frisian armor? Enses can do all of that. That’s why their default support deck also includes cards from other factions. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/e41907cab2fd02b08177d68dfe85054b9aa20b40.jpg When designing the game, we wanted each battle to have more than one possible approach, encouraging players to experiment with decks and discover combinations that surprise with their boldness and uniqueness. We hope that the versatility of the Enses deck will open up new opportunities for such experimentation. It's also worth mentioning that this feature allows Enses to participate in Adjutant battles where a specific deck is required. Likewise, if a particular deck is prohibited in a battle, it doesn't apply to Enses. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/4035f6bbbb5d5c850bb5fcec2933aaaa006e68a3.png We spent a lot of time testing the new mode with various decks, including the Enses deck, and we sincerely hope that the current balance will satisfy the majority of players. NEW DECK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Unfortunately, we couldn't fully implement this in the release version of the game. Now, we are excited to introduce a new system that we hope will significantly improve your gaming experience. Firstly, we addressed the resource conflict issue. If previously you had to reset upgrades on cards to free up experience or gold required for improving other cards, now you can simply move unwanted cards to the deck. These cards will not consume resources, and all their upgrades will be preserved automatically, reactivating if you add them back to the active pool. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/7feb83e16d7c4b161a394fbe986e5b31cb70bf3a.jpg All upgrades are now displayed directly on the cards themselves. Instead of level numbers, you can see the upgrade tree and selected talents. This applies to both active and inactive cards. In the basic, unupgraded version of a card, this button is absent. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/61e1abcce1d86a3e2bf98642afd7e3e93dc859f8.gif The card upgrading process has also been significantly simplified. All cards in the active pool can be upgraded with a single click using a dedicated button. When using this option, the cards will automatically upgrade to their maximum level from left to right. If there is not enough experience or gold to automatically upgrade certain cards, the game will notify you and highlight the problematic areas. The same applies if there is an issue when changing the full deck in the editor or before a battle. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/65db45860a27856bc423f83fc1f24cd28532845c.jpg This system works perfectly with support cards, but character cards have choices at the first and third levels. By default, the upper option is selected. Instead of upgrading a card sequentially, you can directly choose the desired level by paying the required amount of gold with a single click. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/6c114fa7bae85c8c17471306738821973be0553e.jpg The new system has also influenced the positions of the cards in the deck. Now all the cards in the deck are organized based on the following criteria in order of importance: faction / rarity / upgrades. This way all similar cards are placed together but do not group as one if they upgrades are different.

REPLAY THE TOURNAMENT

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/a59cda0377c244271a635a44d42279cdaa14bb81.png At your request, we have also added the ability to replay a tournament in case you are unhappy with your results or choices. This system works through special saves, so this option is only available to those who have started a new game or have not completed the current one. How does it work? Once a player starts a new tournament, the game records their progress as a checkpoint that can be returned to at any time through the in-game menu by pressing Esc on the tournament screen. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/75327869c8e7e225cf652eca6506f783004b429a.png This means that you can also return to any tournament, even if you are at the end of the game or in a new mode. For example, you can choose the first tournament while in the Free Game Mode if you want to replay the game, skipping the tutorial. Keep in mind: when loading a checkpoint, you will lose progress in the current tournament. However, if you decide to go back several tournaments, you can return to the previously saved checkpoints of later tournaments until you overwrite them.

BATTLE CHANGES

Firstly, it's the battle against adjutant Eirinn in the third tournament. In this battle, where you have to use the Gellian deck, invisible traps posed special difficulties, nullifying any chosen tactics, which was particularly frustrating in the hard mode. We agree that the battle was overly difficult and didn't bring joy in victory, as it felt random. Therefore, it has been completely reworked, and all the traps in the battle are now visible. We hope that this change will be helpful and we look forward to your feedback. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/df78abeb479c99696a205f1b9882b2e7446e6fe5.png We also noticed that the adjutant Mirina’s qualification battle, in which you have to withstand a strong warrior capable of killing your commander in one blow, presents significant difficulties for some players, even in the qualification round of the classic mode. Frankly speaking, we don't find this battle difficult. At this level, you can pass it without any particular tactics, simply pushing cannon fodder to the Punisher while the other warriors deal with the enemy commander. However, we understand that some players need more time to learn the deck and understand the essence of the game in order to effectively solve the tasks. Therefore, we gave this challenging battle to the adjutant Mirina, making her pretty easy battle without commanders a simple qualification. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/da0be8bbcde1adcca106f7a439940a349aa9d6ca.jpg Of course, we didn't just swap them thoughtlessly. We also slightly redesigned the battlefields to remove the adjutant figure from one field and add it to another. We also changed the achievement texts associated with these battles and made sure they work correctly. We really hope that the difficulty curve will now be even smoother, but we also want to remind you that you can play battles in the tournament in any order that suits you. Perhaps it's worth achieving a few more victories for new rewards that will help you overcome the battle that gives you a hard time. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/4f3cebdbe68390519853e10b9533eaebddf2e96b.png In addition to the mentioned changes, we also changed the battlefield a bit in another qualification for adjutant Mirina. There were also several bugs related to the disposal of killed units on captured checkpoints and in the duel as well as incorrect functionality of the Stone of Rivers in battles against two commanders. Everything was fixed. We sincerely hope that you won't encounter any other bugs, but if you do, please let us know. We also want to remind you that the game now has a fail-safe against sudden errors: if your battle is stuck and nothing happens, simply wait for 30-40 seconds, and the game will forcibly end the turn to resolve the issue.

UI AND UX

We have added the display of shields during the replay of battles, which is necessary to achieve the best tournament result. In some battles there are units with special armor that do not take damage until it is destroyed. We decided to highlight them to draw the player's attention. Now the icon for their armor is yellow instead of the classic blue. We don't have this device in our team, but we will also try to address this issue soon.

Trading cards

When you collect the cards again, you can upgrade them. You will gain access to Frisian, Gellian, Enses' and Berkanan standards. The foil badge should be marked separately. By collecting special foil cards you can get a unique badge in the form of the game’s logo.

Emojis

Hello, friends! We’re back from our vacation and are ready to continue improving Ash of Gods: The Way with renewed energy. So today we'd like to share some important changes including those you have requested. Let’s take a sneak peek at what we’ve accomplished so far.

Free game mode

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/6d48b67697e111f304e5d00c8509a986e86cc455.png When you complete the tournament in Wodan, the game ends, and to replay any fights you have to start from the beginning. In the upcoming update we want to provide you with the option to get back to the tournaments and start any fight (including battles against the Champions) with any deck you have. There won’t be any attempt restrictions in the fights, and all the stars you've earned will be reset. The enemies’ cards will be upgraded to the highest level. Additionally, in these fights you can get rewards that you may have missed during your playthrough. as well as combat achievements. But of course, the main highlight is the introduction of a new deck.

Enses' deck

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/2d7434ce5d6aa42cf0367eecbd15925c0b3201b2.png Many of you mentioned that they’d like to see additional content after completing the game. That’s why we’re adding a powerful deck that you could see in the final tournament in Wodan — the Enses' deck. With this deck, you can replay the game in free mode and try these mighty warriors in every fight across the four tournaments. The Enses' deck comes with unique features. Card upgrades are not available for them as they are already formidable, and they also possess some special abilities such as protection against ranged attacks. Instead, enses have an ability to use the support cards from any faction which offers a lot of opportunities for experimentation. We hope you’ll enjoy it!

New upgrade and deck management system

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/d3cc1419c9e09a33bbecd26093665a46bf938d8f.jpg As the game revolves around constant experimentation and search for interesting tactics to solve combat puzzles, it’s crucial to have an easy and convenient way to interact with the deck. Our initial approach in the release version wasn’t perfect, so now we’re working on a new system that will enhance the deck management experience. First of all, we plan to improve cards' upgrade. Now when you remove a card from your hand, it becomes inactive, but retains its upgrades without consuming experience or gold — so you can use it for another card's improvement. When you add the card back to your hand, its upgrades become active again. However, if you don’t have enough resources, the game will notify you. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/eac28335fe712782d890d111bf46b891e99a583b.png We have also implemented a clearer indicator to track your upgrade level, replacing the previous text-based description. This allows you to easily see the current upgrade level and differentiate identical cards with different upgrades. They will also be kept separate in the deck. Basic, not upgraded cards won’t have such indicator.

Replay the tournaments

We plan to make this function available in the upcoming build providing you with more choices. With this option you’ll be able to get back to any of the tournaments you have completed. However, please, note — if you choose to do this you’ll lose your current progress.

Adjutant Eirinn

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/ed4067a134e08684849c086b42028bed1ff59fde.gif We are carefully reading all of your feedback, that’s why we have changed the harder version of the fight against Adjutant Eirinn in Gollah, where the Gell deck is required. According to many players, the fight felt excessively hard and unpredictable due to powerful hidden traps that disrupted any strategies. We believe that the new version will address this issue.

UI improvement

https://i.imgur.com/SphARDO.gif In the latest update we’ve taken your suggestion into account and added a display of Finn’s complete answers. We didn’t have enough time to finalize the visual aspect, but we’re going to improve this feature in the upcoming update. The window will look neater, no longer obstructing the characters’ faces and will adjust based on the size of displayed text.

CHANGELOG

The very first thing we wanted to improve is your experience with the story and dialogues. This is especially important in the third tournament because the consequences are based on the way you talk to the Chieftain. From now on, you can see what Finn is actually going to say by hovering the cursor over the button. This way it will be much easier to choose what you actually want to say, especially when you talk to Hargell. https://i.imgur.com/IkihvnO.gif Later, we will do our best to make this window more neat but for now we just wanted to make sure that there is enough space for lines in German and French which are usually quite long. Another important thing, Chieftain Hargell now reacts to your answers. This way you can easily understand if he likes or dislikes what you say, and can use that knowledge to understand the character. https://i.imgur.com/pZPVmz7.gif Keep in mind that Hargell may not react to some of your answers, which simply means that you failed to insult him or to earn his respect. When that happens a lot or if you have mixed reactions, the Chieftain will more likely stay neutral towards you, and this will end the tournament in a certain way. Let’s move to gameplay. There were a few cases when the game couldn’t transfer the turn and the only thing you could do is to surrender. We fixed everything we found but also added a simple workaround for those who might experience that issue again. Now, if the issue happens, the game should forcibly transfer the turn in 40 seconds. We also fixed a few other critical things but if you managed to find anything to block your progress, please, contact us, we will fix your save in no time. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/3af12372d481449a453dd3a8d48643345819a37c.png Other changes are relatively small. There are fixes for voice over and localizations and some changes for UI. For example, now you will see a proper tutorial window if you play with keyboard and mouse even if your controller is active. WHAT’S NEXT?

We aim to deliver the next update approximately at the end of the month. It will include a few important features that you, our community, requested. First of all, we are working on a system to significantly improve your user experience with deck management. It will make constant deck changes and card upgrades less tiresome. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/7e2edf541252f86c9a62dd38c0d661d411730078.jpg Second, we are going to release some kind of New Game Plus kind of thing for those who would like to continue playing after the end. All the fights in the game will be unlocked and upgraded to the level of the last tournament, its conditions will be reset. This way you will be able to replay any fight with the deck of your choice — for example, try to beat the first tournament with a Gellian deck. Last thing you asked us to add is the ability to replay a tournament for those who are not very fond of the outcome. Restarting a battle

It is now possible to restart the battle from the menu without having to surrender and head back to the tournament screen. This should make it a lot less painful when you mess up! This action may occasionally trigger a conversation about your loss, but if there’s nothing to discuss, the restart will be very smooth. Battle pacing

We added the option to slow down the enemy’s turn to the menu. By default, all the enemy’s units will move in rapid succession, like your own units, but we got a lot of feedback from Prologue players that felt this was confusing. Especially in battles with a lot of units, it was easy to lose track of what was happening and your units would seemingly just disappear at times. When you toggle on the ‘Slow down enemy turn’ option, the time between unit actions is increased significantly, which should make it a lot easier to keep track of what moves the enemy is making. This does not affect your own units, as slowing down your own units’ movement would slow down the pace of the game too much. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/80c79af2a7ba50bf95613f88a6a87b83828509dc.jpg

Tutorial Additions

We expanded the tutorial by including information about surrendering a battle and how this will be considered a defeat. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/2e925d7ecbadd59ab8015e20ff3bd03acf79cb23.jpg Additionally, we added information about camera movement. You can press and hold left mouse button (LMB) to move the camera, and the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. Be sure to have a look around the battlefields, there are a lot of pretty sights to be discovered! Please note that if you have a controller or its dongle connected to your PC while using keyboard and mouse, the game may show you the tutorial for moving the camera with said controller. The rest of the game adapts to the device you’re using at the time however, so you can easily switch from keyboard and mouse to controller and vise versa. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/89e76cf1f42866ab6d8240ae26fc89bf4b4d79a2.jpg Additionally, the tutorial now includes a tool tip about the END TURN button and dialogue, which can now both be advanced using the spacebar. Interface changes

Added a pop-up window explaining that combat achievements are unobtainable when playing in Story Mode. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/1c5297a7b78d4d3625c04e89f20971d0f2c74d17.jpg Added some information about the game needing a restart to properly apply language settings. Added a Master Volume slider to give you more control over the sounds in the game. Additionally, a Cinematics Volume slider has been added to adjust the sound of the cutscenes specifically. Localization changes

Thanks to the wonderful feedback from the Chinese community, we’ve made several changes to the font for Simplified Chinese localizations, which should make everything more legible and easier to read. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/07ed3b293adf1a5ebf0a3a03b4e593c22fe65f19.png Expanded localization by including Ukrainian language text support. The game now supports English, French, German, Russian, Spanish (Spain), Simplified Chinese and, of course, Ukrainian. Various issues for localization for different languages have been fixed as well! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/c961ae9fedd95065eda182a388c8c15113da6641.jpg Keep the feedback on the localization coming! It’s all done by third parties and while we did our best to double check everything, we don’t speak every language. There’s no way for us to check if it’s all accurate, so all of your input is greatly appreciated.

General Fixes

• Fixed a bug that made the main menu screen too bright (see below)
• Fixed a bug that caused a battle against two commanders to freeze when the commander on the right is killed first
• Fixed a bug that caused an end-game battle in Wodan to freeze when destroying a wall in certain cases
• Fixed dialogue after losing a certain battle in a side quest of Rigga
• Fixed a blocker in Gollah
• Fixed a bug where a character who previously left the party would appear in the tournament
• Fixed the description of one of the Rigga qualification battles that lacked important information about the rules
• Fixed an issue with the borders of the sound setting sliders

Hello friends! We’ve officially reached the final week before the release of Ash of Gods: The Way! As we’re working our ashes off to get everything ready for release, we’d like to share some details on the final things we’re working on, from changes, the game to an exciting announcement!

Nintendo Switch Release

Ash of Gods: The Way will be released for Nintendo Switch on April 27th and the pre-orders are now live! If you like to take your games on the go, you can grab the game on the Nintendo store. This is super exciting news for us as well, as we really do feel like the structure of Ash of Gods: The Way works really well with a portable console! Though you could also buy the game on Steam and play it on the Steam deck ;)

Changes to the game

We previously announced some changes we wanted to make based on your feedback on the Ash of Gods: Prologue. At the time it wasn’t quite sure what we could add in time before the release. Well, we’re very happy to announce that all these changes are implemented in the game upon release. The full changelog will be available on release day, but for now, let’s highlight a couple changes.

Restarting a battle

We’ve added a button the the main menu to restart a battle, where previously only the Surrender button was available. This makes it a lot quicker and easier to restart a battle if you’re struggling. Previously, with the Surrender button you’d be sent back to the tournament screen and talk with some characters about your loss, but you gave us feedback on how this took too long. Now, with the addition of the Restart button, you will still have a talk with some characters after you restart a battle if this is important to the story. However, if there’s no dialogue, you’ll be able to dive right back into the battle without exiting to the tournament screen. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/39509570/2f87cf1c115e087c9f85a4c1e1a5288b664f6f77.jpg

Battle pacing

We also implemented a toggle to slow down the enemy movement during the end of a turn. Normally, all units on a team would move at once, attacking the target in front of them simultaneously. You let us know it was hard to keep track of what was going on and you were running into situations where you don’t know why you lost a unit. When you enable the ‘slow down enemy turn’ toggle in the menu, all the enemy’s units will move one after another instead of all at once. This should make it a lot easier to see what’s going on. Language support

We have expanded the accessibility of Ash of Gods: The Way by adding Ukrainian localization for interface and subtitles. The game now supports English, Russian, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Simplified Chinese in addition to Ukrainian. Why prepare?

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43766717/bd8dbd8a950acf0fbd4e0190dc617ad1a868d436.png Every battle in Ash of Gods: The Way is a new situation, a new ‘problem’. Whether it be a horde of bandits, an extremely narrow battlefield or a series of one-on-one fights, there are usually certain strategies that will work better than others. A battle is like a puzzle you need to solve, though there are always multiple different solutions. If you’re struggling with a certain battle and you’re using the same general build you used in the last battle, you may need to switch it up. In this case, it would be good to review what went wrong in the battle. What cards did they use? What weakness in your build did they exploit? Were you missing a specific tool to respond to their plays? Solving this issue and adapting your deck may just give you the win.

Getting started

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43766717/a6bfa57107364851f359a4208ad7899dc13a7bde.png Before you even enter a battle, Eik has already reviewed the rules and may have some useful advice for you. He will greet you whenever you click on a battle; you’ll see him on the left side of the screen. It’s recommended you heed this advice, and see if you can make changes to your deck in advance. You can also choose to read the rules of the battle and just see what comes at you. Take note of the battlefield and the cards your foe uses. There’s often a theme going on – a lot of ranged units, a lot of armor, a lot of spells. etc.

Let’s get buildin’

For this blog, I’m going to use one of Mirina’s Qualification battles as an example. This battle features an extremely strong unit, aptly called ‘The Punisher’. This guy has 85 health, 20 armor and has a special ability that lets him one-shot your commander, regardless of the amount of health you have. If you let him get close, you’ll quickly be reunited with the tournament overview screen. And before you ask – he’s also immune to poison. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43766717/c00f83e659348439c3ce9a8bae205d28bd9fe0b7.gif His main weakness – and therefore your key to success – is that the Punisher cannot move sideways, only forwards. This means that as long as you place one of your own units directly in front of him, he cannot get to your commander. Now that we’ve set the scene, let’s define our objective. Your objective is to eliminate the enemy commander. This is important! It means that you don’t actually have to take out the Punisher, you just have to keep him busy long enough for you to take out the commander. So, what do we need to block the Punisher for a while? We can place a defensive unit in front of him; a Guardian, to be precise. A Guardian gains 2 armor when you give him an item. Since he has 3 slots for items, that’s 6 armor to block the Punisher’s 7 attack. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43766717/e5a72ecac425bcd8c731eba4c179cca94145222c.png As for items, look for ones that increase health or health regeneration, like the Herbalist’s Pouch. Additionally, the Guardian has an optional upgrade that will give him passive health regeneration of 3 health each turn. Okay, now that you have the Punisher under control, you can focus on the battle. As your time is limited by how long you can keep the Punisher busy, you’ll want some cards that can quickly get to the other side of the battlefield and swiftly deal with any enemies they may come across. The Blade Master is a powerful card that gains 2 attack every turn she’s alive for. Great for quickly dealing with enemies! Another option is the Crusher, who has the ability to attack twice in one turn if it gets hit by an enemy. This allows you to take down strong foes quite quickly, but also requires him to, well… get hit. You also have the Archer, who is great to support a Blade Master or Crusher. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43766717/a16eb3b7358ab83e791965fa93d5de731b9417ad.png As for support cards, Berkanan Boots give a unit extra speed, the Veteran’s Ring is great to give a unit extra attack each turn, the Guard’s Sword straight up gives you more attack and the Spear of the Victor gives a card the ability to retaliate when hit. For spells, you may find an Inspiration or Shock card useful to boost your cards or damage an enemy card respectively! Now that you’re all kitted out, you should have no problem finishing this battle! The randomness of your cards can throw a wrench in your plan, but you can surrender the battle at any time and start over! Got questions? MIRINA’S QUALIFICATION

When you just get started with the first tournament, you’ll be able to fight in one of two qualification battles for Adjutant Mirina. This is the first time you’ll face the Crusher, a unit card capable of counterattacking when hit in his melee range. This means that when a Crusher initiates combat, he’ll be able deal two hits in one turn: one when engaging and one when counterattacking after getting hit. Tactical use of a Crusher will mean his attack damage essentially doubles! https://i.imgur.com/OziQK6t.gif The enemy general will only send out Crushers this battle and equip them with Veteran’s Glove and Veteran’s Ring item cards. The former will increase their damage and health by one and boost the Commander’s health by 5, while the latter will increase their attack each turn. Leave the Crushers be, and they’ll keep growing stronger! One good way to deal with Crushers is to stay out of their one-tyle range. You’ll have Rangers in the Berkana deck and Rogues in the Bandit deck to shoot him from a distance. Be sure to have a unit in front of them to keep them safe though, they can’t defend themselves! Other ways to deal with Crushers include the use of damage Spells, poison, or simply stack enough damage buffs to finish them off in one blow! Furthermore, your opponent will call for reinforcements after 4 turns. These reinforcements consist of a host of Rangers, as well as a Rogue, to provide fire support to the Crushers in front. They will continuously push back your units if you give them the chance, so it may be a good idea to beat the Crushers within the 4 turns so you can prepare to face the Rangers separately.

CHALLENGER BATTLE

https://i.imgur.com/LWin1xW.gif Ready for the extra challenge? This time, the enemy will start with an extra Crusher right from the start, supported by a Monk. This is a dangerous combination, as the Monk’s healing will make sure the Crusher in front of him will be able to make use of his Retaliation ability without running out of health after one turn. The Monk himself isn’t very strong though. He only has 3 health, one hit from just about everything will take him out. A certain spell may take care of the Monk in a shockingly quick fashion! DOFUS’S QUALIFICATION

This battle is your first experience battling against the Bandit Deck. To properly introduce you, you’ll have to deal with both the Bandit Deck’s major strengths: Sheer numbers and poison. https://i.imgur.com/Aql8Edg.gif You’ll start with a special character with a ton of health, trapped in between two barrels. I wouldn’t get too attached, if I were you. He’s facing a strong bandit — a Slayer, to be exact — using weapons dipped in the deadliest of poisons; what happens next may (not) surprise you. Aside from that spiel, the enemy will send waves of bandits your way. Use your limited amount of cards to deal with them. The enemy Commander will occasionally stun one of your characters, and may send out a stun wave once. As for the Slayer, you’ll just have to hit him before he hits you. This battle is pretty straightforward, so let’s quickly get to the Challenger Battle.

CHALLENGER BATTLE

This version is a whole lot different than the normal version. You’ll notice a row of bandits are about to slap your Commander straight off the bat. How rude! They are supported by a Rogue in the back who can shoot all the way across the battlefield. https://i.imgur.com/sskcYB7.gif These lot don’t seem very threatening at first, but don’t underestimate them! They seem to have a trick up their sleeve. Whenever a bandit is defeated, they will empower the Rogue in two ways: he will gain more attack from his own special ability, but he’s also equipped with a powerful ring that will give him extra health and even more attack. If you start taking out these poor bandits without thinking it through, you’ll end up having to deal with a Rogue that can easily do 20 to 30 damage each turn after just a couple of dead bandits. You need to try to ignore and move around the bandits in the front, while you send your most mobile warrior to take out the Rogue in the back. Ignore him, and you’ll see your army get taken out one by one. Aside from the Rogue, you’ll also have to deal with the mechanics from the normal battle. Some Bandits may wield poisoned weapons that can one-shot everything it penetrates. The enemy Commander will also regularly stun one of your characters for a turn, or send out a stun wave to stun everyone on your side of the battlefield. As an additional rule, you’re not allowed to bring any Shooter characters yourself. You’ll have to find a way to deal with the enemy Rogue without the ability to shoot back. And that’s that!
