Today we’d like to tell you more about a vehicle that’s coming this summer – the Chinese Type 625E!But first a bit of history as usual. The Type 625E is a Chinese gun/missile air defense system developed in 2020-2021, with trials beginning in 2021. It was first unveiled at the 2022 Zhuhai Air Show and was initially based on the ZBL-08 armored personnel carrier. A little later, it received a dedicated 8x8 chassis shared by an entire family of air defense vehicles, including a radar vehicle, a laser-based anti-drone system and others.A somewhat simplified version was accepted into service by the People’s Liberation Army and appeared during the September 3, 2025 parade. It can operate either as part of a battery, receiving targeting data from a command vehicle, or independently in the version fitted with a surveillance radar.Several possible configurations exist, depending on the weapon used (a 25mm or 30mm rotary cannon), the missiles carried (FN-16 or FB-10A) and the presence or absence of a radar. The system is also known as the CS/SA5, LD630 and PLB625E, although these designations generally do not refer to any specific version and were often changed even for otherwise identical configurations. In Armored Warfare, the Type 625E will be a Tier 10 Premium Tank Destroyer. From just looking at the images, it should be obvious that this is in fact not a frontline vehicle. The Type 625E is a long-range fire support platform that will rely on guided missiles to deal some serious damage. The gameplay design is partially shared with the Legendary Vehicle Reaper FSV in the sense that the vehicle offers a combination of three weapon systems:30mm rotary cannon
Regular guided missiles
Advanced FPV missiles
You only have several of them, so spend them wisely
They are vulnerable to APS
They lose control when passing through smoke
It has extremely high elevation angles (unlike the missile launchers)
It can fire for a very long time before overheating

We are happy to present another amazing Legendary Vehicle that’s coming to Armored Warfare – this time it’s the Centauro 2 Tank Destroyer! But first a bit of history as usual. The Centauro 2 is, as its name suggests, an evolution of the Italian Centauro design. During the Cold War, Italy, along with France, went the unusual way of wheeled Tank Destroyers and Fire Support Vehicles with MBT-caliber guns. For France, the choice was rather simple – it had vested interest in and close ties to post-colonial African countries and operating Main Battle Tanks in such harsh environments simply wasn’t cost-effective. It needed a fleet of vehicles with high firepower and mobility but, at the same time, lower operating costs and wheeled vehicles such as the Sagaie or the AMX 10 RC offered just that. For Italy, this wasn’t that big of a consideration. Instead, they opted for high road mobility that would allow the army to move forces around quickly and provide MBT-level firepower to its infantry units at a fraction of its cost. That is how the Centauro concept was born. The downside, of course, is the protection level. This was the pre-drone era where speed and stealth were still (sort-of) viable and where MBTs ruled supreme so, back then, this direction made perfect sense. You can read more about the original Centauro in its dedicated article.Fast-forward to mid-2016, a prototype of Centauro’s successor was revealed at the Eurosatory expo in Paris. Even before the current conflict experience, the decision to continue in the Centauro direction was somewhat controversial and likely driven by costs and existing doctrines rather than actual combat usefulness, but such is often the case until actual combat proves everyone wrong. The largest upgrade to the design was the inclusion was the low-recoil OTO-Melara 120mm L/45 gun derived from Ariete’s L/44 cannon. In the mid-2010s, the 105mm gun of the original Centauro was obsolete and there were two ways of solving that issue – you can either switch to gun/missile combo (that is the route the French went), or you can add a bigger gun. The Italians went with the latter. The 120mm gun was installed in a HITFACT II turret by OTO-Melara (which was developed especially for it) and was loaded automatically – to a point. There was a six-round autoloader with a dedicated crewmember loading it from the ammo rack located in the back of the turret (and additional ammunition in the hull). The gun had respectable depression and elevation angles too (-7/+16) along with an advanced Fire Control System and other optics:Attila-D stabilized commander optics with thermal imager
Lothar-SD stabilized gunner optics with thermal imager and laser rangefinder
The 2016 prototype with 81mm smoke grenades and older radio jammers
The 2022 production version with new 40mm ROSY smoke grenades
The 2024 version with upgraded jammers as well as a modified Fire Control System to fire the Vulcano 120 rounds
Simplified Brazilian export version
120mm APFSDS (similar to Leopard 2A7DK, including the module damage bonus)
120mm HEAT (similar to Leopard 2A7DK)
120mm HE (with increased penetration, damage and splash radius)
Inferno rounds

As every year, on this day we are celebrating Bastille Day! July 14 is celebrated in France as the National Celebration (La fête nationale), but it is more commonly known in the English-speaking countries as the Bastille Day. The name signifies one of the most important episodes of the French Revolution, the storming of the Bastille prison-fortress on the 14th of July 1789. The fortress was considered a symbol of royal power and its fall was a significant blow to the authority of the king.
Let’s start with the bonus. Starting right now and until July 20 (16:00 CEST), you’ll be earning 50% more XP from each match.
Additionally, during the same period you can convert XP into Reputation with 50% discount.

The summer events wouldn’t be complete without the annual July 14 Bastille Day celebrations and, as always, we have prepared new content for you, including a special EBRC Jaguar skin called Foreign Legion.Unlike the previously shown American skin, the EBRC Jaguar one is not an interpretation of a theme, but rather based on a specific Jaguar in service of the Foreign Legion. The Legion is, of course, one of the most famous units in the world with foreigners from all walks of life fighting for France. In the Foreign Legion, your past is erased and – should you do your duty – you get a chance to become a citizen of France and start a new life. The French Foreign Legion is an ancient institution with its history going back to the 19th century (specifically, 1831) and the unit fought in many wars, including the Crimean war, the Franco-Prussian war, both World Wars, in Indochina, Algeria, Gulf War and many African conflicts. The life and service in the Foreign Legion is naturally remarkably harsh with deployments all across the world, most notably in Africa. It consists of nine regiments along with a few other units and is pretty much an equivalent of an army corps. Armor-wise, the Legion is equipped with light wheeled vehicles, including the VBL armored car (for scouts), the AMX 10 RCR fire support vehicle of the 1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment and, more recently, the Jaguar. The skin is based on an EBRC Jaguar belonging to the Foreign Legion, specifically the 1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment under the 6th Light Armored Brigade. This specific vehicle was first shown during the 2024 Eurosatory expo in Paris since the 1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment was the first unit of the French army to receive the Jaguar, replacing both the ERC 90 (phased out completely in 2021) and the AMX 10 RCR (phased out in 2025). It has since been deployed with the unit on several joint NATO exercises in all sorts of environments, including the Baltics and Norway (where, interestingly enough, the vehicle used the same brown and green camouflage). In addition to the skin, we’ll also have for you a new French camouflage called Foreign Legion, as seen on a truck belonging to the French Foreign Legion. Many different nationals used to serve in the Foreign Legion. Can you guess the nationality of this truck's crew? And, of course, we’ll have three decals for you – this time, it’s three real-life unit emblems:Emblem of the French Foreign Legion
Emblem of the 1st Foreign Cavalry Regiment
Emblem of the 6th Light Armored Brigade

Another piece of content coming in early July (in addition to the already announced Pantsir skin) is American-themed and tied to the annual July 4 celebrations in Armored Warfare. It is a special skin for XM1302 called Drifter. The skin is semi-historical in the sense that neither the camouflage nor the markings were ever applied on the XM1302 prototype. After all, the vehicle never reached service. But what if it had? That’s the idea this skin is exploring. The real Drifter was a M551TTS Sheridan belonging to the 82nd Airborne Division, 73rd Armor Regiment and 3rd Battalion, Company B, as identified by the markings. The B-34 designation is commonly attributed to the Drifter. This particular tank was first photographed during a 1984 military exercise Operation Ocean Venture that took place in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, aimed at demonstrating the U.S. capability to keep the Caribbean shipping lines open. The Sheridan in question landed at Vieques Island in Puerto Rico.Several years later, the same tank would participate in Operation Just Cause, the successful 1989 invasion of Panama in order to depose Manuel Noriega, who had become very active in drug trafficking in the late 1980s. For this operation, the tank was repainted to the standard 1986 NATO pattern, which is the appearance we based the skin on.The tank’s final mission took place as Operation Desert Storm where most of the references come from. The tank was repainted once again to sand color and was mostly used for security duties, especially once the heavier Abrams units started arriving. And that’s where Drifter’s combat history ends along with all other Sheridans in U.S. service. Some would serve as OPFOR vehicles before finally being retired in 1998.As with similar such skins, this one will also unlock three overprogression modules of the XM1302:Improved Autoloader (General)
Improved Autoloader (Burst)
Improved Engine

Today we’d like to tell you about the next vehicle that’s coming to Armored Warfare. It is the Centurion Mk.11 Progression Main Battle Tank filling the gap between two early Chieftains. It will be set based on the earlier announced new balancing principles, so you may take it as a sign of things to come. But first, a bit of history as usual. The Centurion has its roots in the end of the Second World War and the search for a multi-purpose tank. Today we’d call the concept “Main Battle Tank” but back then the British called it “Universal Tank”. It was a classic early Cold War design with steel-only armor and a rifled gun, on par with the American M48/M60 series and the Soviet T-54/55. It started with the QF 20-pounder gun and later got the famous 105mm Royal Ordnance L7.The British used it successfully in Korea, during the Suez Crisis and on the Rhine but the fame came from its Israeli service during the 1967 Six Day War and the 1973 Yom Kippur War (ironically, both sides used the Centurion with the other operator being Jordan) before being phased out and partially converted to heavy APCs. One of the most famous tank commanders ever born, Zvika Greengold, commanded a Centurion. The Centurion was used by more than a dozen other countries and saw numerous conflicts, including the Vietnam War and the Indo-Pakistani wars. The major users were also:Sweden (Stridsvagn 81 and 100 series)
Switzerland (Panzer 55 and Panzer 57, both countries replacing it with Leopard 2 in the 1980s)
Canada (in service until 1978)
Australia (used it in the Vietnam War)
South Africa (the Olifant series, in service to this day)
Mk.6 variant was Mk.5 with upgraded armor and the 105mm L7 gun
Mk.11 was an upgraded Mk.6 with an IR projector for night fighting and a 12.7mm ranging machinegun
Thicker steel armor (more on that below) but no ERA
The gun will fire a bit faster
The Centurion will not have HEAT rounds available – instead it’ll have improved APFSDS rounds
The Centurion will, however, be a bit slower and a bit less agile than Sho’t
Bottom of the vehicle will also be quite thick (making it resistant to firing HE shells under the tank)
Internal modules will take significantly reduced damage and will repair faster
Crew will also take significantly less damage
On the 19th of May 2026, starting from 7:00 CEST, the server will not be available for 5 hours due to a planned server maintenance.
Please note that the maintenance can be extended beyond the abovementioned timeframe. We apologize for the inconvenience.Commanders!
With the first half of May almost over, we’d like to once again tell you more about Armored Warfare’s future. While we are working on a lot of new content (some of which might come as a surprise to you), we’re not quite ready yet to reveal a roadmap for the months and years to come. It’ll happen, but only when we are certain with our plans in order not to make promises we’d then fail to make good on.With that being said, what we can tell you about is the future approach to balance and the ideas that we are considering or already implementing.Right now, the situation of the game balance is follows:The game is dominated by autocannon and guided missile gameplay with extremely high DPM vehicles being the most useful and played across all modes
Especially the balance in PvE is only about sheer firepower, no other characteristics really matter
Autocannon rate of fire is in some instances way too high and we’d like to make autocannon shells deal more damage but fire slower (the proverbial sweet spot currently lies between 300 and 400 RPM in our mind)
Main Battle Tanks as a class have been marginalized due to the sheer amount of methods that can bypass their biggest advantage (thick armor)
Active Protection Systems as a mechanic are not keeping up with the amount of missiles currently available in the game
Overall TTK (time-to-kill, ergo the time it takes to destroy any vehicle) is extremely low, especially on high Tiers, which makes the gameplay unappealing as even the smallest mistakes are immediately punished
Reconnaissance gameplay is non-existent due to the creep of various spotting measures (this issue is partially being addressed by giving dedicated scout vehicles the Reconnaissance Missiles in the Force Recon update, but spotting in PvE is entirely irrelevant)
VN20 (significantly – this mostly concerns the second turret, not the stock one)
T-15 Armata
T-15 Kinzhal
Gepard
Namer
Derivatsiya
BMPT series (especially BMPT Mod.2017)
Removing most non-penetration damage (colloquially known as “chip damage”), especially from guided missile non-penetrations
Reducing partial penetration damage
Significantly reducing module damage to Main Battle Tanks in order for them not to be easily crippled
Overhaul of the soft-kill APS mechanic (it has to be useful in PvE as well) as well as the hard-kill APS mechanic (it has to be able to cope with the increased number of missiles and features such as twin missile launches that didn’t exist when the mechanic was first conceived)
Reliability of smoke and its interaction with guided missiles
Making Self-Propelled Guns relevant (possibly by returning the non-direct fire mode as an option, but that issue is still hotly debated amongst us)
Making relatively obscure vehicles such as gun TDs relevant again
Introducing brand-new gameplay in future vehicles (and yes, we are planning to add more progression tanks too)

The Force Recon Battle Path is almost here and, as usual, we’d like to take a moment to tell you more about its prizes. As we’ve discussed in the previous article, the Force Recon Battle Path revolves around the topic of reconnaissance, Special Forces and, of course, modern warfare. This time the camouflages, skins and all other assets are inspired by real-life designs but let’s start with the most important part of the Battle Path – vehicles. This time we have the following set for you:BKM-1 Tier 7 Premium Tank Destroyer (which can be considered an upgrade of the early BMPT series)
Stridsvagn 122 Tier 8 Premium Main Battle Tank (which can be considered an upgrade of the Leopard 2A5 Main Battle Tank)
AMPV 30 Tier 10 Premium Armored Fighting Vehicle (an upgrade over the U.S. M113 Armored Personnel Carrier, which came from a heavily modified Bradley hull)
New Legendary Vehicle called Reaper FSV, the acquisition of which is tied to the AMPV 30
Popular Recon Loot Crates make a return (allowing you to obtain a single Tier 6-10 vehicle that you do not have yet)
Legendary Blueprints are also available in this Battle Path
Desert skin for BMPT Mod.2025 (based on the BMPT that had appeared in Syria around 2017)
Woodland skin for BMPT Mod.2025 (similar skin, only in woodland pattern)
Camouflages and Decals.
Russian Camo (Airborne) - camouflage, as seen on a BMD-4 IFV during the 2008 Victory Day parade in Moscow. The camouflage is a modified version of the standard Russian pattern with muted colors.
Russian Camo (76th VDV) - camouflage, as seen on a BTR-ZD "Skrezhet" belonging to the 76th Airborne Division. The Skrezhet ("screech") is a modified BTR-D APC with a twin 23mm anti-aircraft cannon installed on top. It was developed as a reaction on various counter-insurgency scenarios and the Russian experience in Chechnya. While initially intended as an anti-aircraft vehicle, the autocannons add devastating (if poorly protected) firepower against soft targets to Russian Airborne unit.Russian Camo (Winter Spots) - camouflage, as seen on a BMD-2 in 2024. It consists of improvised white spots applied on the dark green hull of the vehicle.Russian Camo (Improvised Spots) - camouflage, as seen on a BMP-2M transported using the Yenisey armored train in November 2023.Rasputitsa - camouflage, inspired by the spring and autumn season of thawing or heavy rains that turn roads into endless pits of mud, a common feature on Eastern European battlegrounds since time immemorial.Ukrainian Camo (Obsolete) - camouflage, as seen on Ukrainian T-64AKV stripped for parts in the Malyshev plant in Kharkov, 2024. The pattern is an unusual one and clearly based on old Soviet camouflage manuals.Ukrainian Camo (Improvised) - camouflage, as seen on a Ukrainian car of unknown type with machineguns installed on it in order for it to serve with local anti-drone troops.Ukrainian Camo (Disruptive) - camouflage, as seen on an Italian VCC-2 APC (a modified M113) transferred to Ukraine in 2024. The vehicle features a unique camouflage consisting of classic Russian camouflage colors with a disruptive green overlay.Love - decal obtainable via the Force Recon Battle Path. Kind of like "COEXIST", only with chest hair.Gunman - decal obtainable via the Force Recon Battle Path. The emblem of a hand holding a gun was painted on a Spetsnaz BMD-2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle during a war in Chechnya (the unit and date are unknown).VDV (Blue) - decal obtainable via the Force Recon Battle Path. The blue VDV inscription was painted on a Spetsnaz BMD-2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle during a war in Chechnya (the unit and date are unknown), the same vehicle from the Gunman decal.Flying Dutchman - decal obtainable via the Force Recon Battle Path. The Flying Dutchman inscription was painted on a Spetsnaz BMD-2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle during a war in Chechnya (the unit and date are unknown). And the VDV flag. The second part leading up to the acquisition of Stridsvagn 122 features a skin for the Leopard 2A7DK Legendary Main Battle Tank called Military. The skin turns the vehicle into a crisp-looking Danish Leopard 2A7 without all the wear and tear of the stock look.Just like in the first part, there are a good number of camouflages and decals inspired by real-life designs used primarily by the Danish and Norwegian militaries.Camouflages and Decals.Danish Camo (Woodland) - camouflage, as seen on a Danish Leopard 2A5DK. Denmark typically uses two-tone camouflages with large spots, in this case black and green. Unlike Britain (which also uses two-tone green and black camouflage), Denmark doesn't use strict vehicle-specific layouts with the only requirement being color ratios (60% green, 40% black).
Danish Camo (Winter) - camouflage, as seen on a Danish M113. Denmark typically uses two-tone camouflages with large spots, in this case grey and brown.Danish Camo (Desert) - camouflage, as seen on a Danish Leopard 2A5DK. Denmark typically uses two-tone camouflages with large spots, in this case sand and brown.Swedish Camo (Summer) - camouflage, as seen on multiple Swedish and Norwegian vehicles. Both countries use a similar pattern of sharp-edged shapes in four colors (two shades of green, brown and black). The camouflage came in use likely in the early 2000s or the late 1990s.Swedish Camo (Winter) - camouflage, as seen on multiple Swedish and Norwegian vehicles. Both countries use a similar pattern of sharp-edged shapes in four colors (two shades of green, brown and black). The camouflage came in use likely in the early 2000s or the late 1990s. In winter, some colors (notably the black and the brown) are covered with a washable white paint called Zalo.Finnish Camo (Summer) - camouflage, as seen on Finnish armored vehicles. The Finnish camouflage pattern closely resembles the universal Scandinavian/Swedish pattern but only uses three color tones (the brown color is missing).Finnish Camo (Winter) - camouflage, as seen on a Patria TRACKX demonstrator. The word Allfader ("All-father") refers to Odin and is one of his many titles.Swedish Green - base paint obtainable via the Force Recon Battle Path. This is the green color used in the Swedish camouflage scheme. And last but not least, the part leading up to the AMPV 30 is filled with American-themed assets (along with two Iranian camouflages). The flagship of this part is a skin for the M10 Longstreet Legendary Vehicle called Saber Pride. The skin is modeled after a real-life M551 Sheridan standing in the Lewis Army Museum in Washington, USA.Most of the camouflages and decals of this part were inspired by the inscriptions and emblems seen on American Abrams tanks:Camouflages and Decals.
U.S. Winter Camo #1 - camouflage, as seen on an M1 Abrams from the Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division in Hohenfels (West Germany) in the 1980s. While rare, this pattern would appear on several other Abrams tanks over the years.U.S. Winter Camo #2 - camouflage, as seen on an M1 Abrams in the 1980s. The color white is a washable paint applied over the standard green color.U.S. Winter Camo #3 - camouflage, as seen on an M48A1 Patton from the Alpha Company, 37th Armor Regiment, 4th Armored Division in Neukirchen (West Germany) in 1961 during the Wintershield II exercise.U.S. Summer Camo - camouflage, as seen on a U.S. M48A5E1 tank. Commanders!
We would like to remind you that, much like during the previous Battle Path campaigns, the Battle Coins acquired during the On the Hunt Battle Path will not carry over. Please make sure you spend your remaining Battle Coins before the end of the On the Hunt Battle Path (May 12)!Furthermore, please make sure you open any and all in-game Battle Path loot crates containing On the Hunt Battle Coins. It will not be possible to use them in the next Battle Path.We hope that you enjoyed this Battle Path campaign and, as always:See you on the battlefield!Commanders!
Starting on May 8, you’ll be able to earn a major bonus to your next Gold purchase (even a truly massive one, like 80 percent) by participating in the Scavenger Run event. In other words, in case you win such a bonus and buy 1.000 Gold, you’ll receive 1.800 Gold instead. And that can make one hell of a difference (please note, however, that the maximum amount of bonus Gold obtainable this way is 10.000 Gold).Scavenger Run is, in its core, a very simple event. There are many ruined and abandoned objects across the world of Armored Warfare and your friendly neighborhood arms dealer ran across one of them. You are now being hired to scout it out. On a small map, you choose one of three bases and then scout its three warehouses by clicking on them. Depending on your finds (determined randomly), you will receive a sizeable bonus to your next Gold purchase. This event will be active for several days (the counter in Garage will always tell you how much time is left), so if you’re planning to stock on Gold for the next Battle Path or simply want to boost your progress right now, it’s the perfect opportunity to do so.We hope that you’ll enjoy this new mechanic and, as always:See you on the battlefield!Commanders!
