Enjoy! - Fixed bug with the Apex Predator mutation messing up the preview damage and showing wrong previews for cards not being played currently. - Fixed Run Timer in double speed on Akhans island. - Fixed old Trainer node tooltip that still mentions it unlocks the trainer for the capital. - Fixed Oath of protection not limited to 16 shield. - Disable the card animation when adding or removing cards from the deck that would upgrade your ULT. - Added achievements and cinematic text (subtitles) localizations. - Pack leader Fenryr's Passive (+50% Damage when under 50% HP) is actually alternating On/OFF whenever they are hit/take damage. - Deadly repeater and Echoing tomb now work together to reduce newly echoed cards by 2 ap. - Apex Predator mutation with Stealth or Taunt will not update preview damage correctly. - "Reload" from Maverick was creating new bullet cards instead of drawing them. - Fixed Boss text covering up the Potions in some cases. - Fixed bug with Arena mode sometimes going to a black screen after defeating the last boss. - Ensured Secondary Preview cards are fully reset when the normal preview card is disabled.

Patch Notes - 10.98 - Fixed an issue with Transmuting Artifacts where the chosen artifact would not be destroyed if it was equipped. - Fixed an issue with Mavericks cards sometimes becoming unplayable despite having resources to pay for them. - Fixed an issue with Minions Health and Shield (which just adds temporary 1-turn health increase for minions) where the Preview Damage would incorrectly calculate the minions shield portion leading to wrong previews. - Fixed the Deck Viewer size which would stay extra long even with 1 or 2 items in it. - Fixed and issue with Plated Skin passive from Akhan's blue Hands from triggering twice on battle start. - Fixed an issue with Multiples of the same Potion equipped would not all reload properly from a saved run. - Fixed the Achievements being unclickable to view. - Updated the description for Stasis to what it's actually doing now. "Unable to receive damage, healing, or status effects." - From now on the enemy Enchants "Blood Frenzy", "Fiery Flare", "Teeth and Claws", and "Voodoo Aura" will not have their icon darken once they've been used in a turn. - Updated the Arena button which allowed you to Transmute and artifact to ensure you have a valid artifact to Transmute. - Fixed Thousand Fists which was dealing 5 multistrikes instead of 4. - Fixed Potion of Dreams for not showing you what's in your Draw pile, but instead just what was in your starting deck. - Added new option to the settings menu to choose of the game can Run in the Background or not. - Fixed Node Label for Shard battles to show 1x Ability+ instead of 2. - Fixed Voodoo Aura X from applying more Hex than it says it should (6).

Hey Everyone! Quick Sunday morning update for everyone! Thanks for your patience! - Fixed bug with Akhan's Vivid Nightmares preventing you from playing last cards in hand. - Fixed an issue on Apex difficulty where your Max Health would slightly fluctuate between battles. - Fixed the Inn Health restore value to correctly show the decreased HP gain from fighting on Apex difficulty. - Fixed Potion of Lucidity from also allowing you to discard your Ultimate card, sending it to your discard pile to be drawn later. - Fixed Deck Viewers from soft locking you out of closing it if you click on one of the Discard or Draw pile buttons from the Left Hero Mini Portraits. - Improved Mavericks Bullet and Ammo card logic to prevent rare instances of his Non-ammo cards requiring Ammo to pay for them. - Fixed an issue with cards occasionally appeared Echoed when they didnt have the Echo keyword. Similarly with Bolster cards reducing AP costs without the Bolster keyword. - Spellweaver Gloves will now longer allow you duplicate your ULT card. - Ensuring all Previews for Cards are dismissed when you complete a battle. - Fixed Ornate Quiver from not also reducing Retained ranged cards at the start of the turn. - Changed Noctus's Final Hour ability to show the Icon on your hero, with a counter showing how much damage your hero has delivered. - Fixed Curse Aura from Uzirs Farseer Zaran to only trigger on Direct Damage. - If a Hero has Resplendent Aegis, they will no longer gain any Fury, depsite whatever else they also have to increase fury gains. - Fixed Carrion's Shadowy Scythe from discard random cards, was from a former iteration of that ability.

Hey everyone! Just one more quick patch for a few small issues our community found! - Included 18 missing Achievements into the game related to Arena mode. These haven't been Localized yet, so they're only in English currently, but language updates will be coming for them soon! - Fixed an issue with Potion of Swiftness which clears all Major Debuffs to also refresh your hand if you had used it to remove Stun from one of your Heroes.

Hey everyone, thanks for your bug reports, we managed to squash the worst offenders and get out a quick update! - Battle Details after battles and End of Run details now correctly shows the 3 heroes from this run, and the accurate details of that battle for the all runs in a play session, not just the first run. - Arena Mode had Elite Enemies scaling wildly out of control if a user clicked into a battle, then backed out and checked the other battle, the elite edge enemies would continue to gain +50% HP, which was shown on the battle info popup. - Carrion's Discard abilities would allow you to click the OK button before selecting a card, resulting in the a soft lock where you couldn't close the Deck Viewer window during a battle.

IN ORDER TO TOGGLE THE BETA BRANCH ON STEAM, FOLLOW THESE STEPS CAREFULLY: - Right-click on ARCANIUM in your Library - Click on Properties - Select BETAS - In the drop down menu, Select "Testing" That's it! You should be able to play the BETA patch. Switch back to the main Branch at any time to go back to the LIVE version of the game. In it, you will be fighting a series of 7 increasingly difficult battles against some very special foes to be crowned the champion of the Arena! The new mode is shorter than the original "Adventure" mode (yes, we renamed it) and usually can be defeated in 45min to 1h. We stripped away the "map exploration" part of the game to replace it with a simpler system that still gives a ton of agency to you, the players. Features: CHALLENGES will be given after each fight to spice things up. You will be presented with 3 of them and be able to pick only 1. Each challenge affect a different aspect of the game like the economy, the enemies Health or damage output, the chance to see upgraded Items in the shop etc... Challenges will stack until things get out of control! QUARTERMASTER is a new Vendor type that you'll be able to visit in between each fight, and that will sell ANY type of goods at random (Artifacts, Items, Minions, Abilities). Spend your Gold wisely, as it will be needed to do other things. PERKS are new card types that you will be able to purchase with Gold between battles. They will help you in your run greatly, and affect many aspects of the game such as Upgrading Abilities, Transmuting Artifacts or gaining an Essence Boost. INJURIES are an evil and twisted addition to the gameplay. Each time one of your hero dies in battle (and they will) they will gain a random injury. Injuries stack and affect your Heroes in battle. For example, "Concussion" will make you gain 1 less AP at the start of each turn; "Infected Wound" will make you Lose 2 health at the start of each turn. injuries will only be able to be treated at the Quarters between battles, with a special PERK. To make the game FASTER-PACED, we are giving away more cards earlier. We tweaked the difficulty curve and in return, introduce a new feature called CARD BUNDLES which are Bundles of 2-3 cards given at once. You will also start the Run with a free BUNDLE for each Hero, to start things off with a bang! A NEW ENEMY type was introduced: CORRUPTED HEROES! Some foes in the Arena will be Corrupted versions of your favorite playable Heroes. You will fight your shadowy twins often and will have to counter their kits as best you can. HAZARDS and MUTATIONS will be sometimes added to certain fights, making things harder for your Party but granting more Gold in Return. The name of the game here is "Compromise". Taking risks will usually pay off big time in the long run and give you economic advantage to heal up or purchase new shiny loot! NEW BOSSES are added to the Arena Mode. HEMLOCK the Plague bearer, SPARKS the Mad Inventor, as well as OGAR the Berserker will meet you in the Arena for the final Battle. Aided by their trusty side allies, they will make sure to conserve their title of Champion of the Arena at all cost! LEVEL UP your Heroes by playing Arena mode. All XP gained will go towards increasing your Heroes levels. One thing to note though, is that you will only be able to unlock the Province Artifacts by playing the original Adventure mode only. 3x NEW HEROES DRAKKAW {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34906473/74c0f394912ed3b4c18fae4ba664600304203f02.png Drakkaw is a Warlock that specializes in afflicting its foes with deadly curses. He is a fragile Mage that can self-sustain through Lifesteal and Weaken his foes. His passive "Blight" will pop once in a while, forcing all Hex on the targets to trigger instantly for some crazy burst damage. He's the most damage-overtime heavy Hero in the game and will fit any comp willing to "melt" foes. MAVERICK {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34906473/91ceeff21cacf872cddc475f187b7f99aba0b12d.png Maverick is a Marksman and Shadowslinger, wielding two weapons (a Blessed Canon and a Cursed Canon). He excels at slinging a massive amount of cheap cards thanks to his "Ammo" passive. He's also a Multistrike expert and can apply Hex as well as Hasting himself in order to draw even more cards. His flashy and over the top playstyle will suit you if you like to kill your enemies by a "thousand cuts" (or bullets in this case). THORAM {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34906473/1181a1ddcd6e8572919aec8c9992b25aef4b3f14.png Thoram is the third mercenary that revolves around playing Minions on the field. His Minions have a ton of Health and do very little damage, making him a unique Tank or off-Tank. Thoram, being a legendary Blacksmith, excels at "Crafting" Utility cards and at shuffling them in his allies draw piles. he can also Burn his foes and grant Fury to his team. You'll love Thoram in your Party if you wish to use him as a substitute for a Tank and Support, leaving two slots for damage dealers. Great news everyone! We are in the final stretch of polishing and bug-testing the new & upcoming Arena mode for Arcanium. It is time for us to release the mode to the public in Beta so that you can give it a spin! Keep your eyes peeled for an official announcement whenever the Arena BETA will be live on Tuesday August 9th. In the meantime, we are just balancing out and finalizing the next three Heroes (Maverick, Drakkaw & Thoram) that will come out in the last massive content patch before Arcanium 1.0 hits Steam after this summer! What's up slayers! I got another small update with some more bugs squashed and some more tooltip refinement! Live Now! Patch Notes - 10.67 - Bugs and Info - Cleaned up a ton more missing tooltips, double tips, wrong tips, etc. - Added filters to the Tooltip Help Codex, which is accessed with the question mark button on the top menu. - Fixed the Tooltip Help Codex from appearing on reloads. - Fixed most of the Dash cards from working like a Teleport. - Fixed Animated Carcass which was not giving the bonus to the second Animated Carcass played, if played over top of the first one.

Patch Notes - 10.66 - Bugs and things - Fixed a ton of missing or erroneous tooltips on cards, typos, and other small errors - Fixed the Bug Report button - Fixed some bugs related to the Difficulties not resetting between runs sometimes. - Fixed bug with not always being able to Quick Equip the 14th cards if your hero has 13 cards equipped. - Fixed some issues with the End of Run where you'd see an unlock animation for cards you've already unlocked. - Cleaned up some bugs related to exiting mid battle. - Fixed Carrions Boneyard card which wasn't discounting on first play. - Fixed cards without an upgraded version from showing a "Default" card - Fixed missing tooltips on Enemy Cards - Fixed Custom Hero frames not actually applying to the hero frame in battles. - Fixed Dark Effigy artifact not working with Carrion's Animated Carcass cards - Fixed Glorious Breastplate artifact from not working on Discarded cards. - Fixed Bjorn's Death Sentence from applying the Cleanse onto the enemy instead of Bjorn. - Updated Ragnarok's Marching Orders to show up in preview damage, and changed it do deliver two separate hits clearly. - Added tooltips for Execute and Locked Overload - Fixed the node label rewards for a Super Elite battle to show the correct rewards. - Updated the text for the Uzir starting bonus to show +250 gold. - Reintroduced a Double Shield icon behind the AP Bubble to show Ally cast range, to differentiate it from Self cast cards. Also added a tooltip for Ranged Ally. - Fixed the Boss Chat bubble to flip depending on who is speaking, to help clarify who is talking. - Fixed some issues with the Pick 3 showing cards that are at the equip limits. If you already have a Legendary in your backpack, you won't see that same legendary unless its neutral and another hero can use it. Same with having 3 of the same card already, you won't see more of them, unless another hero can use it too. - Updated the Filter in the collection, still a WIP though. - Fixed Serrated Shiv from needing to hit an enemy, now works with all cards played by that hero.

Patch Notes: 06/07/2022 - v10.65 At last, a new patch is here! And it is our biggest patch EVER! Thank you everyone for your patience as our team was working hard on creating some fresh new content for Arcanium! During those last months we focused heavily on adding more content to the game to diversify the Team-building possibilities and to increase our Artifacts pool. We would like to apologize for the delays and for not being very active on the Steam forums. However, we’ve been active daily on our Discord server where we’ve been interacting with our community the most. We have been working closely with our amazing testers on Discord, to bring you the best content possible! After hundreds of hours of playtesting, discussing, iterating and number-crunching we think that the game is in the best spot it’s ever been. 60% of the existing content was rebalanced, fine-tuned and polished as a result. For this massive content patch we have decided to batch 3 new heroes together (each with over 32 cards, 3 Heirloom Artifacts, etc...) and we’ve added a multitude of new Artifacts to the mix. Here’s a list of all the changes added to Arcanium in this patch: NEW CONTENT: New playable Heroes 3 New Heroes have joined the fight. You can unlock them via new challenges right now!

• Celeste, the Priestess of Illuna: New Healer focusing on direct heals to instantly keep her allies in good health and applying and manipulating Shock to increase your team Area damage.
• Bjorn, the Executioner: New Tank focusing on leveraging his own health as a resource, taunting, and dealing massive damage.
• Carrion, the Necromancer: New Mercenary focusing on very disposable minions and discard pile mechanics.

New Artifacts, Artifact balance pass and Artifact changes 48 New Artifacts have been added to the game which are discoverable in all 3 Provinces. We rebalanced a lot of the old Artifacts and changed a handful that were seeing little to no use. Hero abilities changes Angorn - Angorn had some identity issues and used to focus on Shielding. To capitalize on the “Druid” fantasy, we brought back Regeneration on some cards in his kit. Enemy abilities and Passives changes Some enemies across all provinces received changes to their Passives and received the new Wound debuff on their abilities. STATUS EFFECTS CHANGES: Some Status effects have been modified or changed to fit the ecosystem better:

• (QoL) Crowd Control has been removed as a keyword. Now all status effects will display if they are a "Major Buff", "Minor Buff", "Major Debuff", or "Minor Debuff". Cleanse removed Minor Debuffs, and Dispel removed Minor Buffs. Nothing can remove the Major Buffs or Debuffs. So it functions the same, just, clearer on the naming convention.
• Wound (New) - Added to the game and it will reduce all incoming Healing by 50%.
• Sunder (Nerfed) - No longer reduces incoming healing and shields, to just reducing incoming Shields by 50%.
• Regeneration (New) - Regeneration is a buff that stacks on allies and Restores health at the start of the next turn by consuming all stacks until the target reaches full health. Doesn’t decay.
• Shock (Buffed) - Now also deals damage to the target you hit that has shock, in addition to dealing damage in an Area.
• Haste (Buffed) - No longer decays at the end of each turn, only on use.
• Ward (Buffed) - Now also increases incoming Healing by 50%.
• Blind (New) - Now prevents you from gaining Fury for 1 turn.
• Slow (Fixed) - Fixed to reduce all final damage calculations by 50%.

GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS AND QoL CHANGES:

• Changed the enemy passives that'd put cards in your hand that you'd simply never play to add a new keyword "Cursed". A Cursed card is unplayable, expends at the end of the turn, and triggers its effect every time you play another card while it's in your hand.
• At the team select, when using the randomize button, the Ultimates will now also be randomized.
• Improved the status effect icons during battles to flash more accurately to the specific effect that was triggered.
• Increased the size of Card Upgrades that appear when you get to pick several upgrades at once.
• Improved Quest Tracker showing the right number of killed enemies when doing a "Kill X in Province" quests.
• Cataclysm which triggers at the end of the game now consumes Shard Battles too.
• Increased boss takeover of map nodes from 5 to 7 per step during cataclysm.
• Increased enemies damage and Health by 25% during Cataclysm.
• Leech now returns health to Minions
• Added Boss Anti-Major-Debuff passive to all Super Elites.
• Thick Skull mutation has been reworked to not allow Minor Debuffs.
• Adjusted Loot and Shard battle rarity drops, to reduce frequency of Legendaries.
• Added a reroll cost increase at all shops, but reduced starting cost to 50 gold, incrementing by 50 gold per use, just like the Inn.
• Resetting Hero Fury to 0 when a hero or enemy dies.
• Ensuring that the first world quest is always from the starting chosen province.
• Increased Uzir Starting Gold bonus to 250 from 150.
• Adjusted Scorched Lands starting card bonus to show 3 upgraded cards.

BUG FIXES:

• Blinding Flash fixed, it will now apply blind to any enemy with shock properly.
• Fixed exploration to ensure that you can't walk back and forth on vendors to increase the quest completion count.
• Fixed a bug where 2 or more damage-over-time damage applied to a target would count for 2 or more kills during Assault battles.
• “Corpse Explosion” and “Blade Parry” calculation fixed.
• Static Conduit X had the wrong (old) description. Fixed.
• “Purse Snatcher” fixed, it'll now look only at damage to the health instead of blocked amount as well.
• Lifestealing a dead enemy won't heal your Heroes.
• Cards dealing 0 damage will no longer trigger enemy passives that react to receiving damage.
• Fixed Sorgoth’s passive to not apply the effect if you dealt more than 8 damage.
• “Zora's Longsight” updated to work with all (non-self) cards including minions and ally based cards playable in all lanes.
• “Big Game Net” was fixed to only apply the bonus to the equipped hero.
• “Flask of Annihilation” was fixed to damage all enemies.
• Lifesteal is now enhanced by Spirit.
• Breached Barrels now return health from Leech (but not Lifesteal).
• Blossom (Angorn) and Faith (Celeste) ignore dead heroes.
• Fixed a bug letting you equip multiple heirlooms from the battle rewards screen.
• Fixed “Recycle” from adding duplicate cards into your discard pile.
• Fixed “Twisted staff” from adding duplicates to your discard pile.
• Fixed “Miracle Mack” event (Anador) that would add the threat but not duplicate the artifact of your choice.
• Fixed “Sacred Bastion” to always reduce Bolster cards regardless of if Leon is targeted or not.

• Fixed Echo cards to more properly recognize your hand size, and fill it properly if you had a full hand and played an echo card. It'll draw that echo card.
• Echo cards that can't be drawn due to other card drawing effects like haste or artifacts will no longer put the echoed card on the top of your draw pile.
• Ensuring all new "Major and Minor" buffs and debuffs remove themselves from a target when it dies.
• Fixed an issue where many of the + cards weren't properly showing their Spell FX.
• Updated some enemy passives to show a counter to keep track of the condition (i.e. Concealment, Dark Veil, Petrification, Reconstruct)
• Fixed Corrupted Battles to clear their effects if you quit during the battle.
• Fixed “Steel Cage” to return the minion to the original caster hand. In the event of a Potion-based minion, it'll go back to the hand of the hero in the lane where the minion was initially cast.
• Fixed all “Boots” Artifacts that were triggering twice if you moved another Hero into the lane.
• Fixed “Kneel” to once again remove a random card like it used to.
• Fixed “Volatile Blood” mutation from reapplying every turn after turn 3.
• Fixed “Sunder” not applying to living targets.
• Fixed a bug where enemies killed would stay at 0 health, and continue to attack.

WHAT’S NEXT? 3 New Heroes: The next and final content update before full 1.0 launch is scheduled to be released later this summer. The last 3 Heroes will join the existing roster, to bring the number of playable heroes to 16(!!!). These Heroes will be:

• Drakkaw, the Warlock. Drakkaw manipulates the Void to inflict crippling damage-over-time effects to his foes, and take pleasure in watching them suffer. He’s a literal nightmare and a great addition to any self-sustaining team that needs slow ramping damage on their side.
• Maverick, the Gunslinger. Maverick is a Shadowslinger that wields two weapons. He is fragile, but packs a punch! His specialty is playing a ton of cards each turn, at low or no cost thanks to his Ammo mechanic.
• Thoram, the Blacksmith. Thoram is tanky and supports his teammates by flooding the board with defensive Minions, and by shuffling “Upgrades” in his allies’ decks.

(More on those three in a lengthy upcoming post) Arena mode: The new Arena mode is a blast, and coming along really well. We are in the polishing stages at this point, and should have a beta ready for testing in the months before full release. Arena mode differs from the original “Adventure” mode by being a fast-paced, snappy 10-Battle run against increasingly harder foes. In between each battle, you’ll be able to edit your loadout, heal your wounds and purchase perks at the new vendor type: the Quartermaster. Arena mode will also feature 15 new Enemies, 3 new Bosses, a plethora of cool features and new Status effects & Events. We can’t wait for you guys to try it out and give us your feedback! ARCANIUM PATCH PREVIEW - 05/06/2022 Hello everyone! Today I would like to talk about what we’ve been tinkering for the past months at Supercombo. We have a lot to talk about! We wanted to change things up this time, and release a Hero pack instead of releasing one Hero after another. As a small team, we found it more efficient to batch VFX, SFX, illustrations, card design, QA and bug fixing. We also added over 40 Artifacts, reworked a dozen that weren’t seeing a lot of love from the community, and made a flurry of balance tweaks to the Hero abilities and Neutral cards. Without further ado, here are the next 3 Heroes coming out this month. NEW HERO! BJORN (Elemental / Void) {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/34906473/1bbcb54168ed9d8c7d444ac681637c805591a99a.png Bjorn is a Rhino Executioner and a hybrid Tank / Assassin. He relies on dishing out damage while sustaining himself through the Lifesteal mechanic. He’s also a reckless hero that deals damage to himself while decimating his foes. His Passive “Grudge” generates a unique resource called “Rage” whenever he takes damage from any source. He then can use to perform powerful attacks. Bjorn fits well in a team needing an off-tank, and can take on the role of full-tank whenever built properly. Carrion is able to flood the board with cheap skeletal carcasses that grow in power the more they are played in a battle. Thanks to his ability to fetch cards from his Discard, he can then play his minions over and over again to take advantage of their boosted stats. He can sustain his teammates by applying Leech to his foes (Leech heals the attackers whenever they hit the target) and by soaking the incoming damage with his army of the dead. She excels at healing her teammates while packing a punch. She can apply Shock to her enemies and Blind them, or dish out some pretty impressive burst damage to her foes. Her Passive “Protection of Illuna” generate a unique resource called “Faith”, that she can stack whenever she plays cards on her enemies. Her stacks of “Faith” will consume and Shield the most injured ally at the start of each turn. Celeste will fit perfectly in a Multistrike-heavy team. All Artifacts also have received a serious balance pass and now feel better than ever! Additionally, each of the 3 new Heroes will come with 3 unique Heirloom Artifacts. IN THE WORKS Arena mode: We can’t be more excited about this one … We have been working hard on the new Arena mode (coming later this summer) and it is looking amazing! The mode is a brutal and snappy experience that will last between 45min and 1h. It is an action-packed mode that has no exploration part, and where you will go on a series of increasingly more difficult Battles. Between Battles, you will have the ability to spend Gold at the Quartermaster and purchase Abilities, Artifacts and Minions, as well as a multitude of buffs and upgrades for your Heroes. After each Battle, a random difficulty modifier (or “Bane”) will be applied to your run, forcing you to adapt to the situation. The Arena mode has a finite number of stages that you’ll have to go through, before getting a chance to defeat the Boss and final encounter. Finally, whenever your Heroes fall in battle, they will accrue Arena-specific “Injuries” such as Twisted Ankle, Contusion, Broken Arm, etc. These Injuries will stick to your Heroes until removed at the Quartermaster at a Gold cost. Lastly, the Arena will also receive new exclusive enemies, including 4 new Bosses and 15 new Enemies, which we are developing and testing as we speak! Hey everyone! Happy Near year (old news I know), but it's a big day for us here! Arcanium just launched on Netflix gaming for iOS and Android, for both phones and tablets! We're excited to finally be able to push this patch, I know it's been a long time coming. We have eradicated a ton of bugs since our last update, and now that the mobile is out there, we are back on track to delivering the next batch of Heroes! So on with the list! Live Now... Patch Notes: 1/18/22 - 10.46 - Fixed Resolution dropdown and allow proper setting of chosen resolution instead of always defaulting back to 1920 x 1080. - Showing Enemy Passives on enemies while setting your hero positions before a battle. - Fixed issue with being unable to consistently place a minion potion in the left lane. - Enemy Death Preview - If an enemy is going to die from a DOT or Minion at the end of a turn and before they can attack, their damage output will be reduced to 0, and the damage breakdown will show that they are "Killed" to help clarify the previews. - Fixed and updated a ton of Language based issues for all languages, especially Thai and Arabic. - Zora's Longsight once again works for all ranged cards, both attack and ally cards. - Fixed Progress bar for completed quests and achievements. - Fixed an issue where the game would auto save and be reloadable if you lost the run. - Fixed the Claim Reward button from appearing or disappearing on Reloading a saved game. - Fixed Arcana cards not tracking achievement progress. - Backpack acknowledges + cards when limiting how many you can add to deck to the max of 3. - Showing the true reward at the end of a "Travel" quest in the quest entry. - Broad Sword now affects the entire first card instead of just the first hit of a multistrike. - If a hero has no heirloom but all artifact slots full, the heirloom will no longer show as full in the quick equip buttons. - Fixed enemy Soul Leech which would result in an almost un-killable enemy from too much lifesteal. - Crowd Control (CC) abilities once again are reflected in the end of battle and end of run details. - Fixed some issues with enemies casting their ULT card and then being Interrupted from a player card, causing them to sometimes fail to recast that ULT card on the next turn. - Clicking on an enemy and viewing their profile during the run will now show their true health throughout the course of the run, as it does increase depending on how far you are in the run. - Fixed Jade Oracle from interfering with hero passives. - Brought back Run History (takes a little time to load all the history entries). - Fixed Potion of Lucidity not redrawing after discarding your hand. - Fixed Purse Snatcher passive to only affect damage to the players health, not shields. - Quick Equip under each card is now changeable when picking rewards. - Fixed Cripple from not doubling the health when it fades away properly, was adding doubled health on top of existing health lol. - Fixed some minions from not properly registering in the battle history. - Fixed Overrun from not refunding AP on kill - Fixed Haste being transferrable / dispellable. - Replacing a Minion with Expire will trigger the Expire condition now. - Fixed a lot of cards that still restores team AP to restore hero AP. - Fixed vile effluvium which was missing the Sundered card. - Fixed Overload from not refreshing card costs in hand, specifically Mozebus' Evocation Ult. - Added VFX now when using a Potion. - Fixed Serrated Shiv when used with Mozebus and his Overload mechanic. - Fixed the Old Sand Witch event from showing and allowing duplication of Legendary abilities. - Changed Corrupted Sap passive to only acknowledge direct damage. - Countless other tiny bugs and issues... with more to come! Patch Notes: 11/20/21 - 10.44 - Fixed Ult card being un-drawable if you have 5 cards in hand. - Added Casual difficulty which gives heroes more health and enemies less damage. Intended to be a very chill experience where you can experiment with builds. - Fixed issue with Corrupted Battles modifiers lingering in future battles. - Updated and fixed a lot of issues with localizations, text getting too small, and missing language updates. - Updated tons more FX for more enemies in Anador and Uzir, as well as some Hero FX. - Updated some more sound fx, music, and ambience. - Improved saving and reloading stability, fixed a big hitch when reloading a saved game. - Fixed issues with Audio sliders not working until you close the settings buttons. - Added the Drawer logic to the top right icons beside the Settings button. - Fixed a lot of issues with Void Wings and Hook causing enemies to sometimes cast 2 cards at the same time. - Fixed some issues with using quick equip buttons and it showing that your deck is full. - Fixed occasional Backlash damage being shown doubled. - Fixed Echoed cards to auto expend if not played on the turn you create them from the Echo card. - Replaced the Gold Card in a pick 3 back to a small button beside the OK button. - Fixed some issues with Akhan fight breaking sometimes. - Artifact minis no longer flash if they're collapsed. - Fixed issue with enemies applying weak to you and it falling off before your turn started again. - Tons of other small bug fixes and enhancements! Hey everyone! We've been hard at work to fix some more bugs and polish the game overall. Patch Notes: 11/13/2021 - v10.42 - Blind and Stealth Mechanics Reworked. We heard your feedback and understand that no one was really a big fan of the "RNG" implementation of Stealth and Blind. So we reverted those changes closer to the older version: A blinded hero will have a 100% chance to miss all cards played on enemies. Anything played on allies or your minions will still cast. Stealthing will cause the enemy to retarget a random adjacent lane immediately and prevent any enemy from targeting them at the start of the next turn. If there is no "valid target" enemy will default to casting forward in its lane, potentially causing a stealthed target to be retargeted. If an enemy stealths, their lane can no longer be targeted, but they can take Area damage, Damage over time, etc... - Reworked Dark Rangers passive to only gain Stealth after taking a total of 25 damage in a turn (40 for the Super Elite) - Added some extra protections for quitting mid battle and continuing to prevent previous battle code from lingering in the next run. - Removed the "Buried Card" tile (Pick a Single card for a hero) and replaced it with more "Card Pile" nodes that give 3 random cards for a specific hero. - Fixed a bug where dead enemies could cast in rare circumstances. - Fixed a few more bugs in the tutorial that would prevent moving past the first battle. - Changed the Essence Rewards to now give +AP, +Redraw, or a big team heal. - Fixed Oath of Protection using the final value to spread to allies. - Fixed Execute from registering two kills instead of just one. - Fixed "Corrupted Battles" in Heroic mode and higher difficulties, to give the proper effect to the battle. It's Here!!! The Big Patch has arrived on the on the Live Branch!! We would like to thank you all for your patience while we reworked some of the mechanics that were received poorly, and apologize for the disturbance. Thanks to your feedback, we were able to revert some of the features from last patch, improved in a lot of areas and fixed a ton of bugs! We are dedicated to making Arcanium the best game it can be, and dedicated to listen to all of your feedback. We have also decided to push back Arcanium's full 1.0 launch in order to focus on fulfilling the roadmap we had initially talked about. The roadmap will be updated very soon to reflect the changes. Patch Notes: 11/5/2021 - v10.41 - We brought back the ability to swap heroes to different lanes by dragging them. Doing so costs 1AP and can be done at any time. - We went back to having Melee cards (same lane targeting) and Ranged cards (same/adjacent lane targeting), and lost the concept of "baseline range" on every card. - Opportunities to draw cards was increased. Each Hero will redraw 3 cards at the start of each turn. - Individual Action Points (AP) are back and each Hero will regain 3 out of 5 AP at the start of each turn. - The Essence Upgrade screen will now let you give a selected Hero a permanent AP for the rest of the Run. Once all Heroes are maxed out, you will instead have access to a powerful team-wide heal instead. - We changed the "New Ability Card" tiles on the map, to give away a bundle of 3 random cards for a chosen Hero, as opposed to giving 1 card. You will get Ability cards faster, replace some starters and will be able to create a lot more interesting builds quicker into the Runs. - We added a lot of "Retain" cards to the game to balance the fact that all cards now flush at the end of each turn. Retain cards stay in your hand whenever you pass your turn. This will allow us to have a layer of strategy we didn't have before, where Retain cards will be pound-for-pound weaker than their non-Retain counterparts, but will be more flexible and played whenever the timing is right. - We added a ton more VFX including all new ultimates for each Hero. - We updated a lot of card illustrations including all new Minions. - We added new Battle music tracks for more variety. - We added a lot of the cosmetic frames that will be available at 1.0. You can find out about them by consulting the Achievements from the main menu and checking out each achievement. More cosmetic frames will be added in the next weeks. What's next? We want to keep working closely with our players and fine-tune the balance. A ton of new VFX, Illustrations and sounds/music is under way and will be added to the game in the next weeks as well. When the dust will have settled, we will be ready to start working on the next content milestones. First, we'll be releasing Celeste, the Priestess and Carrion, the Necromancer. At the same time, we will start implementing a brand new mode: Arena mode. Arena mode will be a more condensed, quick and action-packed mode with zero map exploration. That's right, Arena will let you pick a party of 3 Heroes and battle increasingly difficulty enemies until you reach the very last encounter, or fail. Vendors and special events will be inserted between battles at random and propose new cards, Artifacts, healing or team-wide perks. Hey everyone, thank you for your patience as we are tinkering on a new patch that will revert some of the changes made in the last content patch, and much more! In the meantime, for those who are interested, we have released a temporary Beta version on Steam. If you wish to check out the latest changes made to the game, right-click on Arcanium in your Library > Select Properties > BETAS > Select "Testing" in the dropdown Here's a list of changes made to the Beta version, in anticipation for the next Live patch: - Innate Swapping for 1 AP is back - Individual Hero AP is back - Starting at 3 AP per hero, each essence upgrade will allow you to add +1 ap to an individual hero. - Starting with 3 Cards per Hero, and removed +Redraw from the Essence Upgrades and Deck Bonuses. Generally speaking, unless you get an artifact, or enchant that increases redraw, you'll be at 3 redraw for the whole game. - More retain cards throughout. - Once you've upgraded all your heroes to 5 ap, the essence window offers big team heals or upgraded ability pick 3's as its rewards. - It takes 5 AP to earn an Essence reward. - Lane Targeting is back as it was, Melee, Ranged, and now Adjacent too - Fixed a bug in assault battles that stopped them from counting kills, leaving players stuck in those battles. - New "Corrupted" mechanic. When one of your heroes dies, their body becomes Corrupted, dealing 5 damage to any Living Hero that swaps with it. This is there to prevent cheesing when you're down to 1 hero left and the enemy is having a hard time locking in on you because you keep darting around the board with your dead allies. Eventually, it'll catch up to you. - Inn's now all have their own costs. Each use still increases the cost, but only for that one Inn. - Fixed a number of bugs related to cards for enemies, that Might have also fixed a bunch of soft lock scenarios. - Backpack maxes out at 14 abilities instead of 16. - Fixed Backlash from decaying off enemies right away. - Fixed Bolster from reducing often all the way to - erroneously. - Minions now can only be killed from direct ability damage (including Area damage). No longer though from DOTs, Shock, or Backlash damage - Mozebus' Overload now takes all remaining AP and adds it to his Overload pool. - Shops now show cards based on current loot rarity. Rerolling is cheaper. - Inn cost increase reduced by 50%. - Added new combat music! - Paragon of Focus no longer creating duplicates - Eternal lantern no longer creating a milady ult infinite - Fixed 5th Mini Artifact display beside hero portraits from staying hidden. - When clicking a locked hero, you can now see the Achievement that will unlock it. - Fixed infinite from Aranax Acid Fumes and Skaros Hauberk. - Added more art for the missing achievement frames. Hey everyone, There are times in game development when things go as planned, and times when they don't at all. Based on the recent reviews and feedback of Arcanium's last content update, it is clear that there are some issues we have to address ASAP. We do agree that we pushed things a little too far when trying to prune out some of the mechanics that we thought were making the game convoluted and harder to grasp for players new to the game. We have heard what you had to say about some of the recent changes and are here to listen, and react to the feedback as best as we can. This is why we have decided to revert some of these changes back to where they were back before last patch. Our goal is to craft the best roguelike experience that we can, and make the game a great experience for veterans of the genre as well as players new to the genre. We hope that we'll address your concerns and that you'll have a blast playing Arcanium again. About the Roadmap: The game is still very much in Early Access, and will remain in Early Access for now, as we keep on improving it prior to full launch. We have decided to delay the 1.0 launch to 2022 and will implement ALL THE CONTENT that were promised in the roadmap. The roadmap will be updated on Steam to reflect the unfortunate delays. It has been a while since any update was made to Arcanium, and we would like to sincerely apologize for the delays. And no, we didn't take any time off if that's what you are wondering. Quite the opposite actually :) Here's an overview of what's coming (we will post a detailed patch notes with the release next week): OVERVIEW: The game is now “Content complete” and everything that will be released in 1.0 is now included. PERFORMANCE: One of our top priorities was to address the performance issues on PC. We took this very seriously and worked hard to make the game run as smoothly as possible on most machines. You should now be seeing drastic performance improvements. CORE PROGRESSION LOOP: We’ve made a lot of changes to the meta progression loop to make the game more engaging in the long-term and less “grindy”. The “Stones” system was removed entirely and the Heroes & Cosmetic items are now unlockable via achievements only. Any fresh account will now start with 3 “Starting” heroes: Leon, Milady and Aurora. TUTORIAL (WIP): We added a brand new interactive Tutorial for new players, that will have you travel through our starting island and learn the ropes of the game in a fun and engaging way. It is not completely polished but we figured you would want to see it anyway, and we would love to hear your feedback! The Tutorial can be skipped and replayed at any time you want. TRANSLATIONS (WIP): We are in the process of adding over 15 new languages to Arcanium including Korean, simplified Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Spanish and much more! Chances are you language of choice is already implemented but if it is not the case, it will most likely be at full launch. These new languages are a WIP and still being worked on, but we wanted you to have a look and give us your feedback anyway. ACHIEVEMENTS: We added a whole new structure to the game called Achievements. Achievements are responsible for unlocking future Heroes. For example, Shinzo will now join your roster of Heroes whenever you defeat Aranax, the Brood Queen (Anador’s Boss) for the first time. But Achievements will also be used to unlock the newly added Cosmetic items. For example, the Anador Adventurer frame will be unlocked after unlocking 100% of the Anador Province. All Achievements can be inspected via a new section of the game available from the main menu. COSMETIC ITEMS: Cosmetic items are also new and unlocked via Achievements. They consist of different styles of portrait frames that you can apply to your Heroes in battle to show off your skills. Some Cosmetics are unique to a specific Hero i.e. Master Frames become available whenever a Hero hits Level 20, while other cosmetics can be assigned to any of your Heroes before a Run. HEROES: 10 Playable Heroes are now available to play. Leon, Milady, Aurora, Shinzo, Tara, Ragnarok, Mozebus, Lazaar, Misty and Angorn. NEW PROVINCE: We added a third Province: The Scorched Lands. The area comes with a set of 9 new enemies, Events and Boss - Noctus, the Fallen Prince. The Scorched Lands is a treacherous area where few adventurers have set foot into. Demons, Warlocks, Wraiths and Ghouls await your arrival! AKHAN, THE CALAMITY: If all the above wasn’t enough already, we added the Final encounter to each of your Runs. That’s right, defeating one of the Province Bosses is no longer the end of the journey. Once you have done so, Akhan himself will summon you to the Arcanium island for the last showdown. Only once Akhan is defeated, you’ll have successfully defeated the Run. Once you arrive at the final area you will be able to heal, shop and manage your inventory one last time before the last Battle. Akhan can take on one of five “forms”, at random. Each one of his forms has its own set of cards, passive abilities, and ultimate abilities, and represent a different challenge that you’ll have to adapt to. Akhan, being the gigantic monster that he is, takes a lot of space. This is why we are representing him as 3 of the enemies in Battle. His body will take over the center lane, and his two arms and hands will take the left and right portraits. Lastly, each of Akhan’s forms is represented by a different skin color variation. -Akhan, the Deceiver (Arcana) is geared towards controlling the Battle by disrupting your hands and card draw. -Akhan, the Ascended (Light) is geared towards sustaining himself with strong heals and debuffing your Heroes with Blinds. -Akhan, the Evolved (Nature) is geared towards using Poisons and Cleave attacks. -Akhan, the Destroyer (Elemental) is geared towards making your Heroes Vulnerable and dishing huge amounts of single-target damage. -Akhan, the Devourer (Void) is geared towards using Hex and weakening your Heroes. GAME DIFFICULTIES: We have simplified the read and how the Game difficulties work. We went back to a more classic “Diablo” style with 7 difficulty settings to unlock. Normal mode is the only mode unlocked by default. By defeating Normal you will unlock Hard, then Expert, Challenger, Heroic, Mythic, Nightmare and finally Apex. Each mode will pile on more and more modifiers to your runs. The higher the difficulty, the more XP you will gain with each run. ARTIFACTS: The game has 105 reworked Artifacts. Each Province received its own set of Artifacts and we removed the concept of Neutral Artifacts, meaning that no Artifact is shared between multiple Provinces. Part of being a good Arcanium player is knowing what Province to visit based on your team composition and overall strategy, since only a specific set of Artifacts will drop in each Province. HEIRLOOM ARTIFACTS: Heirlooms are the most powerful Artifact in the game (Red rarity gem). They received some of the biggest changes too. You will no longer start Runs with Heirlooms assigned to your Heroes. Instead, Heirlooms will now drop from Super Elite encounters, and be equipped on a dedicated Artifact slot for each Hero. Each Hero has now 3 Heirlooms that they can find. Each Heirloom is tailored and enhances a specific playstyle for the Hero it belongs to, and only that Hero can equip it. ULTIMATE ABILITIES: Heroes now have 3 Ultimate abilities they can swap out and equip before each Run. One Ultimate is unlocked by default while the other two will need to be unlocked via Leveling the Hero. Ultimates drastically change how the hero is played. HERO ABILITIES: Each hero now has access to 24 personal Ability cards consisting of: -3 Starter abilities (Grey Rarity) -3 Ultimate abilities -6 Common abilities -5 Rare abilities -4 Epic abilities -3 Legendary abilities Some of these cards are unlocked by default at Hero Level 1 while the rest will be unlocked by leveling the Hero with the XP gained during the runs. HERO PASSIVES: Each Hero received a Passive ability that is unlocked by default and can not be changed. It represents the Hero’s playstyle and DNA, and affects how that Hero is played. NEUTRAL ABILITIES: Neutral Abilities are back, and you will have access to 136 of them. Each Hero will be able to equip any Neutral ability as long as they belong to one of their two colors. For example, Leon is Light and Arcana (Yellow and Blue) so he’ll be able to make use of any Blue and Yellow Neutral ability found during the Run. Neutral abilities can be swapped between Heroes as long as their colors match. This allowed us to address some of the biggest core issues: the cards felt compartmented and the replayability suffered from it in return. The game lacked synergies, but this change alone boosted the replay factor, fun, and synergy significantly. A portion of the Neutral abilities are unlocked by default, and the rest will be unlocked simply by leveling up your account (Mastery level) over time. Now, for the significant changes of all: STARTING BLESSINGS: Each Run will now start with a Province Blessing to choose from: -Starting a Run in Anador will grant your team the Anador Blessing, increasing your party’s maximum HP for the rest of the Run. -Starting a Run in Uzir will grant your team the Uzir Blessing, increasing your party’s starting Gold. -Starting a Run in the Scorched Lands will grant your team the Scorched Lands Blessing, giving you access to a free Common Ability card. WORLD QUESTS: Each Run will also start by proposing three World Quests at Random. You may mulligan each quest once, after which you will have to accept your fate. World Quests are added to a brand new Quest Log accessible from the in-game menu at any time. World Quests are side-objectives that will challenge you and send you traveling to the four corners of the continent of Arzu. The Quests vary in difficulty and you will decide which ones to work towards. Each World Quest, once finished, will grant some incredible loot! EXPLORATION: Some of the biggest changes and improvements went into the Exploration. You will have to experience the changes for yourselves but here’s a top-level list of changes: -We completely revisited the system and how players interact with the map. Before the patch, you could see your “location” on the map and would be restricted by distance which always felt very underwhelming at times. You will now be able to push the exploration to extend your reach, and click on any available tile to teleport to it. This new system is more casual, fun and engaging and allows you to cover a lot more ground on each Run. -The Province Bosses are not visible from the start, but now appear once you enter the “Cataclysm” phase. You enter “Cataclysm” by simply exploring and reaching a full Threat bar of 30 Threat points. -Each time you visit a new tile in Cataclysm, 5 random tiles will turn into a Boss Battle. Soon enough, the map will be covered of them and you will have no choice but to engage the Province’s Boss. Battle nodes block all surrounding tiles. Whenever you uncover a battle node, a big red “X” will appear over all its surrounding tiles, rendering them unclickable. You will have to defeat the battle tile in order to free the adjacent tiles. -Shard battles are now optional, but are brutal Battles that will offer a guaranteed Heirloom Artifact as a Reward. COMBAT: -Combat has been simplified a lot while retaining most of the DNA that makes Arcanium unique. Heroes no longer can swap lanes by default. You now need Ability cards with the Dash and Teleport keywords to do so. A lot of new players never knew that you could swap Heroes as a part of the core gameplay, and we wanted to reduce the amount of hidden interactions players had with the game at any given time. -To balance out the Swap nerf, we made all Abilities able to reach any adjacent lane by default. You won’t have to reposition your Heroes in order to be efficient any longer. That said, we also introduced new range keywords like Melee and Ranged written on a few cards. Melee cards can only be cast in their own lane, while Ranged cards can only be cast in adjacent lanes. All unused cards are discarded at the end of each turn, and each Hero redraws 2 cards per turn by default. We wanted each turn to feel like a puzzle, and didn’t want previous turns to affect the outcome of a battle. We also wanted to eliminate any “irrelevant cards” overflow that some players used to experience. -AP is now team-wide again. We decided to simplify the mechanic and go back to a more traditional style of resource. Your runs will start with 5AP shared by the whole team. Abilities from any of your Heroes will be paid for with the team’s AP, but will contribute to generating Fury only for that specific hero, like it used to. CHANGE TO CARD RARITIES AND POWER LEVELS: We kept the rarities as they were in the previous patch (Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary) but completely revisited what they mean, and created a new system that sets Arcanium apart from other games in the genre: -We kept the Essence but simplified how it affects you. Whenever you defeat a Battle, your Party will automatically receive Essence (1 on normal Battles, 2 on Elites and 3 on Super Elites). Whenever you reach 5 Essence, your Party will simply receive an extra AP that will be added to your total team AP. 5, then 6, 7,8,9 to a maximum of 10AP towards the end of the Run. -All card rarities are now based on the same power level i.e. a Common 1AP card deals 6 damage to an enemy, and a Legendary also deals 6 damage to an enemy. The fundamental difference is that the rarer a card is, the more expensive it gets. As a matter of fact, Commons usually have a cost of 1AP on average, while Rares cards cost 2AP, Epics cost 3AP and Legendaries cost 4AP. -This change, coupled with the growing AP pool available to your heroes over the course of the Run, is what creates the crescendo and power spike. Battles will slowly become longer, more explosive and intricate as time goes by. -More importantly, this change makes 100% of the cards you will find relevant until the end game (I often find myself using Commons in my final decks) and further extends the -already big- pool of available cards to equip, and further increases the synergy and build paths on all Heroes. -Loading a deck with too many 1AP cards will most likely end up with your Hero “gassing out” since you are limited to 2 cards per hand on each turn and might have left-over AP at the end of your turn. But cheap cards are more flexible and versatile than the 3 or 4Ap counterparts. -Loading a deck with too many 3-4AP cards will give you all the firepower you need but will often result in an un-flexible turn that can fall apart depending on RNG, your positioning etc... Hey everyone, quick heads up about the development of Arcanium. We are encountering some delays as you can see, but fear not everything is falling in order. I’d like to apologize and thank you for your tremendous patience. We have been tasked to package and deliver the final translation documents by the end of today, that's over 45,000 words that will be translated in over 30 languages. We needed to get that out of the way, it slowed us down, now we're back on finishing the last bits of content. A bit more updates about the content: - The core loop changes have been integrated, everything is butter smooth. More on that soon. - Visual Polish: This has been the center of our focus. We wanted to finish what we had started with a bang. So, we ordered a batch of 150 fresh new ability illustrations from a great art outsourcing studio. We also have partnered with a small but mighty VFX studio to create 200 new spell FX that will be in the game at 1.0 (We're about 2/5 of the way now). Lastly, FX wouldn’t be anything with sounds, so our sound designer extraordinaire Jeff is creating 200 new custom sound FX to go with the new spell VFX. The game will look and feel better than ever. - Performance Optimization: Another focus has been Optimization, and making sure that any machine will be able to run the game with at least a decent frame rate at low settings. We were able to improve the performance so much that the game is now able to run at over 200fps on a machine that was getting barely 30fps at the time. We aren’t completely done with optimization either, and it will only get better moving forward. - Core loop and core mechanics: This is the big one. We analyzed what was making the game fun, and what was doing just the opposite. We have revisited mechanics that were convoluted and tweaked some rules to make Arcanium the best it can be while being easier to pick up for new players. The exploration is more straightforward than it used to and deeper, giving players a lot of agency. We added World quests to give directionality to the runs, and justify having such a vast map to explore. We paced the runs to be more action-packed and a bit shorter than before. - Content: We plan on releasing the game with 10 Heroes by the end of the year, and will push some regular content updates after that. The Hero roster will be: Leon, Milady, Aurora, Shinzo, Ragnarok, Tara, Mozebus, Angorn, Misty and Lazaar, our latest hero. The latest Heroes are still being tested and balanced, and almost ready for prime time. Akhan is currently getting his illustration worked on, we’ll post a WIP this week. He’s fully integrated into the game and you’ll be able to fight him on every run after defeating any of the Province Bosses. We’ll post some more about Akhan very soon to explain the mechanics of his battle. The third Province, the Scorched Lands is fully functional but still needs some Events to be added, and a good visual polish pass over the 3D battlegrounds assets to be done. The Province has its 44 tiles added to the main continent, 9 new enemies, and a new final boss: “Noctus, the Fallen Prince”. We completely revisited the Artifacts and removed the ones that our community didn’t think were that great. We reworked them, and added the Scorched Lands Artifacts to the existing pool. We now have a total of 150 unique Artifacts that can be found in runs and added to your Heroes. Heirlooms are stronger than ever with 3 per Hero (30 Heirlooms total at 1.0). We also changed how Heirlooms work for clarity and simplicity both. Heirlooms will now drop from Shard battles as a reward, and will be equipped in slot #4 on your Heroes that will be reserved for Heirlooms only. We also tweaked the Heirloom Artifact cards to drastically enhance one aspect of each Heroes and change the way you play them. - Tutorial: If you’re already familiar with the game, this won’t really be that interesting to you. But new players will be able to launch Arcanium for the first time and experience our new Tutorial mode, a short and immersive mini-map area with a dozen tiles to visit that will teach the ropes. The tutorial will be able to be skipped, and replayed at any time. There’s a lot more that we haven’t mentioned, but we will keep that for later and let you experience the changes yourself. Speaking of which you might wonder when we’ll be releasing the next patch for Arcanium... We will probably release a Beta version of the patch in the first weeks of October on Steam to make sure that most of the bugs are out of the picture, and shortly after that release the patch LIVE on Steam. The next patch will be as close as it gets from the 1.0 patch, and we’ll spend the last weeks before launch polishing the content, balancing and ironing out the bugs. Hey everyone, it has been a while since our last update, and we wanted to come forward with some exciting news for ARCANIUM. We apologize for the delays and want to thank you for your patience. We spent most of the last weeks in meetings and working on a once-in-a-lifetime deal with an unannounced platform. This deal is the opportunity for the game to gain massive exposure and reach players all over the globe. We cannot be more excited about what is coming next! What does this mean for ARCANIUM? First, we will need more time to get to the finish line than originally planned since the scope of work increased significantly - we will now be aiming toward the end of Q4 2021 for a Steam PC final release. We are in the process of optimizing the game, reworking the UI/UX, writing localization tools, and translating the game into several languages that will be available at launch. The positive side of all this is that the game will soon run smoothly on any machine in your language of choice! We received additional funding to make ARCANIUM the best it can be. We are now hiring new artists in the fields of VFX, Illustrations, and programming. Our goal is to put all these resources at our disposal to create the best Roguelike card game we can, which we hope you will enjoy as much as we do. We have been pruning some convoluted systems, as well as refining the gameplay and game mechanics. ARCANIUM will become more polished, approachable, and we are working on a solid onboarding experience for new players. In the end, we want to make a game that is easy to pick up, with tremendous depth and replayability. As a result, we have not been able to make any real progress on the PC build, and we will probably have to pause any updates until our small team is able to return to their original schedule. Dear Arcanium family, Sorry for the hiatus! We've been super super super busy on several fronts and should have a pretty major patch coming out later this month (aiming for the week of the 21st of June). Let me explain what's been happening behind the scenes... First of all, we have been working on implementing a brand new localization system (fancy word for translation) to support several languages. We'll make an official announcement soon about this but Arcanium will be coming out in 5 or 6 new languages within the next 2 months, and we are super excited! Putting the infrastructure together is no small task, and slowed us down tremendously, but it's coming to an end soon and we'll go back to our regular update schedule soon. We've also been processing all of the feedback from players on both Discord and Steam forums. The general consensus for players who enjoy Normal mode the most, is that the exploration became a lot harder to manage after the changes we made (backtracking costing moves, etc). So we found a way to tweak a few things and bring the exploration closer to where it was before the change, allowing for complete freedom of movement but still keeping some boundaries to make exploration fun for both casual and hardcore players. Finally, we are bringing a slew of brand new features and changes to the game that will increase the fun and replayability. We simplified some mechanics in an effort to make Normal mode the most engaging, relaxing and casual it can be, moving most of the cognitive load onto alter Apex difficulty levels. A new Hero is on the way, Mozebus the ancient Arcanist, and will make an appearance in the next patch so get ready for some Arcana sparks! With love, The ARCANIUM team
