UI Each menu has been re-designed to provide a consistent visual appearance across the entire game. Here are some of the main ones you need to know about.

• HUD: A cleaner and more streamlined look while still providing the critical information you need.
• Overview: Your new go-to menu for everything about your Arcade. Here you'll find your Research tab alongside Finance and Analytics and much more.
• Build: Everything you need to build is now in one place. Building out your Arcade has never been so simple.
• Hire: Need some assistance, check out the Hire menu. Here you'll find all your favourite Staff ready to be hired.
• Summaries: The Summaries screen is back, with a new lick of paint and even more information.

Controller Support

• Whether you're on the go with your Steam Deck or just fancy kicking back with a controller in hand, it has never been easier to build and manage your Arcade.

Gameplay

• Customers will now want to play on your machines more often and for longer periods of time.
• Reworked the Prize Station to generate Stars but be careful of raging customers.
• All machines now have a repair cost. This cost increases the more damaged the machine.
• Staff have had significant changes ranging from cost to overall ability. Each Staff type now costs differing amounts with security being the cheapest and technicians the most expensive.
• Campaign objectives have been rebalanced to stop bank loans from providing easy completions.
• Bank loans now have a set repayment schedule.
• Capped Bank Interest at $10k.
• Added the ability to hold the "ALT" key to quick-sell or power machines off.

Localisation

• All current languages have been updated for the new update.

Sound

• Brand New Soundtracks have been added to the game.
• Lots of new UI sounds have been implemented when navigating menus.

Tutorial

• A New Tutorial to help whether you're a Veteran Arcade Manager or just starting out.
• Meet Rex the dog and allow him to talk you through the opening tutorial. (Audio only available in English localisation.)

Optimisation

• A whole bunch of improvements have been made ranging from reduced memory consumption to increased framerate. The game is now more lightweight and easier to run.

Bug Fixes

• We've fixed and added and fixed even more bugs in the 18 months since our last update. If you found a bug in our last update, I think it is safe to assume that it's probably been fixed.

Hey Arcadians! ːsteamhappyː Discord Come Come Come Join Us 500+ Members Your favourite Arcade Tycoon Developers are back with another update. Some pesky bugs have shown up and we felt it was time to step back in a squash them. We've also made a couple of big changes to the game which we hope you will like. One of the changes is that Stars are now persistent across all Campaign levels. This means you only need to unlock your favourite research just once to get it throughout the campaign. The same also applies to unlocking higher-tier Arcade types. Any Stars built up will show up on any campaign level for your profile. We've also created a system that will backdate the Stars, Research and Arcade Types earned through an existing campaign. This is done through an analyzing screen that shows up the first time you load the game or change to an old profile for the first time. Another exciting change is to how you build carpets, gone are the days of manually placing each floor tile. You can drag select up to a 12x12 region to place down your majestic flooring. As usual, you can find all the fixes and new additions down below. -------------------------------------------- ~ Added arrow indicators to the Arcade Rating Panel that now show when values increase or decrease. ~ Added persistent Stars to the campaign mode. Research, unlocked machines and Stars will now carry over for each level. We manage to hit Very Positive Reviews thanks for the support and if you haven't gave a review please do! ~ Contracts now do a full refresh every 6 months. ~ Fixed a bug that caused "Robo Bin" to not appear in the Utilities selection screen. ~ Fixed a bug that caused contract rewards to be repeatedly gained if the space bar is pressed multiple times. ~ Fixed a major bug caused by entertainers that reduced the number of people who enter the arcade. ~ Fixed a tooltip in the Staff Hire window incorrectly showing the entertainer skill score. ~ Fixed a visual bug that caused toilets to not display the "Out of Order" icon after picking up and rotating them. ~ Reduced the difficulty of "Easy" mode. ~ Repositioned the "Repay Loan" buttons in the finance screen for loans to help with better legibility. ~ Selecting the 4x speed contract while playing at 4x speed will now automatically start progress. ~ Updated a few tooltips that incorrectly displayed old level names. ~ Upgrading staff will now only give them a 5% wage rise. -The Devs

Hi, I'm Nigel the creator dev for this indie game, I'd like to say it’s taken 3+ years to get to this stage there has been a lot of ups and downs, where we see our early buggy prototype transform into the game you know and love, I'd like to give a big thanks to Jordan and Mike who were the programmers of this game and took my idea into a full out game and Ari who took years drawing all the pixel art. It's only been a few months since our last update, but we've been hard at work adding more content and finishing up some of the major features in the game. Contracts are a new feature that we are very excited to have now in the game. You can choose from a list of contracts that provide cash and star rewards for completing, and for every 5 contracts that you complete, you gain a Contract Coin which can be used to purchase a unique machine. We've also overhauled our pause system. With this new system, you can now perform a lot more actions including moving and placing machines as well as redecorating. This change will give you no excuse now to build the perfect arcade without the worry of a ticking clock. Another new addition to the game is the Entertainer, this new Staff Type will roam around your arcade bringing joy and happiness to all while providing a nice boost to your appeal. Hey @everyone I'm back with another brand new update and be warned, this one is our biggest one yet. We've counted 97 unique changes, which range from several major bugs fixes to a brand new currency system. In this system, you will earn Stars from customers playing on machines, which can be used to unlock different styles of arcade, as well as purchasing upgrades from the Research and Development screen. Speaking of Research and Development, we've added 12 new upgrades that will help you get the best possible price for arcades or help your Staff in keeping on top of their jobs. Another major addition to this update is our new and improved AI. We've redesigned how customers will interact with your arcade. Amongst many changes, a noticeable one is each customer now has a favourite machine type that they love to play, doing so will provide a greater happiness boost to the arcade. They'll also quickly get bored of playing the same machine, so make sure to provide lots of variety or your customers will become unhappy. A few other major additions include a new customer as well as a trends window, which will display which Arcade is currently trending for that quarter of the year. Trending arcades work similar to favourite arcades and will provide a boost in happiness. We've been hard at work in this update finding and fixing lots of bugs, annoyances and generally cleaning up certain aspects of the game. We've also added some new content in the form of a Character, Wallpapers, Rides, a Notification System, a summary screen for Staff and Machines and a difficulty system. This should help you keep track of everything in your arcade a little better and make managing staff and machines a little less tedious! ~ Moved all notifications to an Inbox system that can now be opened and closed via an Envelope on the left side below the Arcade Details Panel. ~ Moved around some of the select views to help with the layout better. ~ Replaced the single colour paint wallpapers with a better brick version. ~ Staff can now be forced to take a break at the staff room, this can be useful for when your arcade is quiet. ~ Staff can now be forced to work overtime, this prevents them from going to the staff room but will cause them to become unhappy if used too often. ~ Staff members will now start with full needs after being hired. ~ Staff wages have been rebalanced. Levelling up your staff will no longer cripple your arcade finances. ~ Switched the position of the "Happiness" and "Wage" columns in the Staff summary screen. ~ Toilets will now lose maintenance after each use. It will function at a reduced capacity if maintenance hits zero. ~ Tweaked the balance of some of the marketing schemes. ~ Tweaked the chance values for Random Events. This should mean less lightning and more of every other type of event. ~ You will now gain more global happiness when customers perform certain actions. Hope you are all well and excited for the Holiday Season. I'm here with the final update of the year which will provide some big new features. The first major addition is all to do with Staff members. They have too long been in the shadows repairing machines, cleaning up rubbish and keeping out thieves. Staff now have Needs, Stats, Perks and Flaws: ~ Needs are similar to customer needs, and staff will get cranky if you don't provide a place for them to rest and relax. ~ Stats now drive how good your staff member performs certain actions. They are split into 3 categories, Skill (How fast or well they work), Speed (How quickly they move around) and Stamina (How long they can work without a break). ~ Perks are bonus skills that you can give a staff member. They can provide unique traits or an extra boost to stats. ~ Flaws are the opposite of perks. These can develop over time and will hinder your staff. On top of this, Staff will now gain XP which you can use to upgrade your staff member. We've also added a Staff Room which you can build to give your Staff a place to take a much-deserved break. To finish out the update, we've added a new customer who will start showing up at your arcade, a staff summary screen to help you keep track, as well as a whole host of bug fixes and improvements which you can see below. We've worked extra hard to get this update out in time for the holiday season, however, bugs will do buggy things. So if you spot one, let us know through both our discord and Steam forums. Happy Halloween! We've just pushed a massive new update to Steam for you all to enjoy. Some of the major changes and additions you'll find in the update include: "Random Events" which we hope will add to the dynamism of owning an arcade, these events are both good and bad to both help and hinder you. "Arcade Cost Rebalance" we felt it was time that we properly balanced the cost of machines in relation to its reliability and power consumption. "11 New Shops" As its also Halloween some of these stalls are very thematic. We've also overhauled food and drink to now give you more control of the pricing of each stall. "New Decorations" Speaking of Halloween we've also added lots of new objects and carpets to help you make your Arcade a spooky as possible. On top of all this, we've found and fixed lots of bugs as well as a whole host of changes which you can read about below. ~ Added a food and drink Quality and Cost slider, you can now customise food and drink costs! ~ Added a new random event called "Lightning Storm". ~ Added a new random event called "Money Payout". ~ Added a new random event called "Party Time". ~ Added a new random event called "Thieves". ~ Added a selection of new Drinks and Food Shops! ~ Added a subtle heat haze effect for when the weather is sunny. ~ Added new themed decorations! ~ Added new tooltips to various buttons. ~ Added some new floor tiles. ~ Added some new sound effects to arcades, keep a lookout for them! ~ Added the ability to hold shift while decorating a floor to fill the entire room. ~ Added the ability to move the camera with the middle mouse click. ~ Added various Halloween Decorations. ~ Changed Loan repayment slightly to be easier to understand and better communicate outstanding amounts. ~ Changed machines to now only be selected via left-click and people can only be accessed via right-click. ~ Changed the Upgrades screen to be a little neater. ~ Changed the way that Food and Drink satisfaction works, meaning you'll have to be clever with your Cost to Quality settings! I would like to thank everybody who has provided feedback this week regarding the major update we released on Wednesday. It only helps us improve on Arcade Tycoon and hopefully makes playing the game that much more enjoyable for you. I've just pushed another small patch to Steam which hopefully provides some much-needed balance to ATM and Token Machines so that they help rather than hinder your gameplay. The two main tweaks regarding this are upping the base reliability for token machines meaning this will explode less often, while also providing a new way for you to upgrade any machine to increase its reliability for a cost. The rest of the update consists of bug fixes and a QoL change. It's that time again, where we are dropping another update. We've used our time recently to revisit some of the older parts of the game and give them a little TLC. The major things you'll find in this update is the overhauled tutorial, which now provides a much-improved introduction to new players. We've also implemented visual weather effects for Sun, Cloud, Rain and Storms. These are only a teaser for some new content that's in the pipeline for a future update. We've been hard at work putting together the latest update 0.7.0 for Arcade Tycoon on Steam for you all! This update sees some pretty exciting and new game mechanics and features that we hope that you'll enjoy testing out. The two main features of this update include a completely overhauled Happiness system. This changes the way your Happiness score is calculated, meaning that it now takes into account every customer that has ever visited your arcade. The second main feature is a completely new Save System! This new system will allow you to create multiple profiles with their own separate campaigns allowing you to make countless level saves! Due to the way that the new system works it now means that any saves made from v0.6.1 and before will no longer be compatible with any future updates. We understand however that a lot of you may still want to continue playing on your already existing saves, regarding this, we have made the decision to continue to host v0.6.1 on a separate Steam Beta branch. The 0.6.1 version can be accessed by going to the properties tab for Arcade Tycoon in your steam library. Then select the Betas tab and pick the 0.6.1 version from the drop-down list. Now on to the patch notes --------------------------- ~ Added a Cleaner Bot you can employ to automatically clean the litter in your arcade. ~ Added a customer summary screen to provide more information on the needs of your patrons. ~ Added a manual clean button which enables you to clean up litter in your arcade by clicking on the tile. ~ Added a new repairman who fixes machines as a one-off. Press the repair button to call in a handyman to repair that machine for a small cost. ~ Added a new window that allows players to name their arcade! ~ Added a Profile system which allows you to have multiple campaigns on-going at the same time. (This will reduce time spent moving and stop customers from pathing to unoccupied areas of the arcade.) ~ Updated Marketing. We have just dropped another update on Steam for you all (making this 7th Major update). We've been working extra hard to get some exciting new content to you, and we are very excited to show you our new overhauled queuing system. This changes the way we allow the AI to find a machine to use and hopefully provides you with more visual feedback on which machines you may need more of. Also in this update, we are now providing localisation for 12 new languages, this is an ongoing process and not every language will be 100% localised in each update, but we will try to stay on top of it for each major new update. We'd also like to thank everybody who has contributed to this effort over at Localizor. How To Play Last, of the major additions, we have updated our "How to play" screen to now provide even more help and information about the game. You can find this by pressing the "?" in the bottom right of the screen. Queue System Guests can now queue up. We've also been listening to your feedback and bug reports and have tried to fix as many bugs as possible, as well as providing Quality of Life improvements.
