Greetings Raiders! Live Update 1.39.0 is going out right now, bringing various game fixes, changes & additional updates to the Matchmaking System. The Seeker & Wolfpack should no longer deal inconsistent damage and trinkets previously added in 1.33.0 can now stack! Additionally, you can find the new Dweller Outfit in the store.
Over the past months, improving matchmaking has been one of our top priorities. We’ve introduced various adjustments and improvements based on your feedback & requests. Since our Notes on The Matchmaking System, one change has stood out with the community: defending yourself is no longer treated the same as starting a fight. It meant self-defense still counted toward your playstyle estimate, but with much less weight than starting a fight. Your feedback was positive, and many of you have asked us to take it further.
The most common follow-up request we've seen is to remove the impact of Defensive PvP entirely - going from reduced weight to none at all. Starting now, we're testing exactly that. During the test, only the fights you choose to start will influence your playstyle estimate, and defending yourself won't affect it at all. This includes knocking out enemies who attacked you first.
So what counts as starting a fight, and what counts as defending yourself? Here's how the system reads an encounter:
Who's defending: If the other squad damages, downs, or knocks out any of your squadmates first, your whole squad counts as defending - the squad that strikes first is the one that started the fight.
How it's weighed: The more serious the encounter, the more it counts. A drawn-out firefight - with more damage dealt and raiders downed - weighs heavily, while a stray accidental hit or a brief exchange where the other squad flees after minimal damage still counts as starting a fight but weighs far less.
Third-partying: Jumping into a fight between other squads that's already underway counts as starting a fight, too.
Over the coming weeks we'll monitor our matchmaking metrics, watch how PvP develops Topside, and gather your feedback.
Two earlier changes are also still live: the Solo, Duo, and Trio matchmaking tracking from 1.36.0 and the matchmaking optimization adjustments from 1.38.0. We're keeping a close watch on how both perform, but telemetry only tells us half the story - to get the full picture, we need to hear how your matches actually feel.
The latest matchmaking survey covers all of this, so take a minute to fill it out - your input is the other half, and it's what turns our data into better decisions. Thank you, Raiders!
Raiders & Contestants, don’t forget! You’ve got until July 30th at 3PM CEST to complete the required Contracts in THE FINALS and earn the Azimuth outfit & the Archaeologist Backpack bundle in ARC Raiders.
Afterwards, we’re back to the Rust Belt! You’ll be able to earn the Azimuth bundle in THE FINALS by heading Topside and playing ARC Raiders.

Shots taken while riding ARC may not register correctly.
Some doors may allow player flashlights’ beams to pass through instead of blocking the emitted light.
Some hairstyles may clip through the Reaver Outfit helmet.
We are aware of some clipping issues with the Triumph and Azimuth outfits.
Old Ermal offers may appear to be available in the 'Acquire and Craft' menu (visual only).

Howdy Raiders!
Store Update 1.38.0 is going live right now on all platforms. We’re bringing two new colors for the Torpedo set (Camo & Black), which you will receive automatically if you own the outfit. Same as before, you do not need to restart the game. The Expedition Departure is happening today as well! Good luck to everyone getting a fresh start. For those of you on your Fourth Expedition, we want to know which Mystery Rewards you’ve received! Need a reminder on how the Expedition works and what to expect? Here's our latest Expedition article.
We've heard your feedback on matchmaking. It works well most of the time, but there is room for improvement — especially during low-population hours, in certain regions, or in specific map conditions. We’re working to improve those cases.
Starting today, we'll be testing adjustments to our matchmaking algorithm aimed at improving the quality of your matches. One thing to note: the algorithm may take a little longer to find a match, since it's now working harder to find you a better one.
What does this mean for you? You should run into squads that match your playstyle and squad size even more consistently, making for more fair and enjoyable raids.
As always, we'll be keeping a close eye on our matchmaking metrics and your feedback. We'll review these adjustments shortly and share where things land. Thanks for helping us make the matchmaking experience better for everyone.
For more details on how our matchmaking system works, check out our earlier deep-dive.
See you Topside, //Raz
Look out, Raiders!
We have an update regarding the Expedition-related issue where you could automatically be signed up for Departure if you had completed the associated Damage Challenge.
We want to err on the side of caution. We will revert the Departure sign-up for players whose sign-up behavior appears representative of this issue. This may be done in several waves, starting tomorrow, July 17 11:00 AM CEST. Throughout the weekend, please make sure to check the in-game Expedition tab and verify that it shows the correct information for your case. If you had previously been signed up for departure automatically and this does not revert by the end of day tomorrow, please reach out to our support team as soon as possible.
If you have changed your mind and want to depart, you can still opt in to do so. Additionally, Last Call will be available as usual for those of you who aren’t able to sign up for Departure before the deadline.
We will be monitoring closely ahead of the Departure window closing and will continue working on a fix to prevent future instances of this issue. Thank you for your patience.

Raiders!
Store Update 1.37.0 is going live right now on all platforms with two new colour variants for the Driftcoat outfit - black/green and red. You will get them automatically if you already own the skin, no restart required.
We have seen your feedback about the Seeker Grenade feeling weaker since last week’s update and we have been investigating the issue. We noticed an unintended effect from a collision change on the projectiles and the team is working on a fix - we will let you know as soon as it’s ready.
We have also been looking into your reports of being automatically signed up for Departure after completing the “Deal Damage” challenge (reaching 100,000 damage dealt). This is unintentional, and we’re working on a fix.
Following last week's fix for the duplication glitch, we've been banning accounts that gained a significant advantage from exploiting it. That effort continues this week, similarly to how we handled it in February:
Warnings for low-severity cases where abuse was limited.
Removal of Coins and items tied to exploit activity.
Suspensions for the severe cases, particularly, where exploit usage had a significant impact on the in-game economy or other players’ experience.
Players who deliberately exploited the glitch but didn't gain a major advantage will not be suspended. And if you simply received a few items from someone who was duping, without knowingly exploiting the glitch yourself, you may receive a warning.
Our goal is to only take action against those who significantly and deliberately abused the exploit, not to catch players who were incidentally affected.
Thank you to everyone who reported the issue and continued to play according to the rules.
See you Topside,
//Ossen
Raiders!
We have just pushed a hotfix on all platforms to mitigate a duplication issue as well as the UI bug in the Expedition screen that showed Skill Points instead of Mystery Rewards for players on their fourth Expedition.
As we stated before regarding the use of exploits, we will continue issuing bans on accounts that have been gaining significant advantage.
Restart your game to download.
Thank you everyone for your reports and for playing by the rules.
See you Topside,
//Ossen
Raiders!
Your tentative alliance with the Nomads is progressing by the day. Nomads wander the streets of Speranza, bringing stories, valuable information, and loot to trade. As the ARC presence Topside ever increases in scale, making reliable friends has never been so important.
The 1.36.0 update has just dropped, bringing bug fixes, QoL updates, matchmaking tweaks, new Expedition and Trials Season, and a crossover outfit from the virtual gameshow world of THE FINALS!
Expedition 4 - Zenith Outfit
Trials Season 5 - Scorta Outfit
Solo, Duo, and Trio Matchmaking
ARC Raiders & THE FINALS Crossover
Store Update - The Triumph Set
Store Redesign
Following your feedback on the Matchmaking survey published in May, we have implemented one of the most requested matchmaking features:
We now track your playstyle separately for Solo, Duo, and Trio rounds, and match you accordingly.
Say you are a friendly solo player, but your two squadmates always want to dominate in trios PvP. Before, being friendly solo could push you into more cooperative trio rounds, and playing PvP-focused in a trio could push you into more PvP-focused solo rounds - so changing squad size meant matchmaking took a bit to adjust.
Now, there's no overlap. You'll be able to go from friendly questing and plant-picking in Solo rounds to adrenaline-fueled PvP Trio games (if that's how you usually play in those respective cases), by simply changing your squad size. The same holds for Duo - all three are tracked on their own.
Complete a set of Contracts in THE FINALS and unlock the Azimuth outfit and Archeologist backpack bundle in ARC Raiders. Inspired by explorers, Raiders, and Contestants who dare to chase new horizons beyond the stratosphere.
This promotion is available from July 9th 3pm CEST until July 30th 3pm CEST before we flip it around, letting you earn the Azimuth bundle in THE FINALS by playing ARC Raiders.
See you in the Arena... and The Rust Belt!
ARC
Significantly increased the value of loot dropped by ARC Turbines.
Dev note: We've heard your feedback that the ARC Turbine's loot was too low compared to the high effort required to take one down and we agree. That’s why we’ve decided to significantly increase the amount of loot from the ARC Turbine. Happy hunting!
Fixed an issue where the ARC Turbine would sometimes disappear right after spawning in.
Knockback from Queen & Matriarch stomps will no longer go through walls.
Cosmetic
Fixed a clipping issue for the Marco Outfit.
Fixed an issue where the Bog Walker Set was missing new colour variants.
Over the next few days, we will be issuing refunds to those of you who paid additional Raider Tokens to unlock the new colors. This should be an automated process, and does not require you to do anything.
Items
Weapons dropped on the ground now display their installed mods.
ARC Turbine parts will no longer drop from Couriers.
Higher-value items will now show up on the shelf in the Raider Den, even if you have large stacks of lower-value items that add up to a higher total value than the individual item.
Maps
Fixed various spots where players could get stuck or clip through the terrain.
Fixed several locations where players fell through the terrain on The Dam close to spawn bunkers.
Quests
Fixed an issue where the Quests tab could loop back to the 'Done' screen after claiming a reward and pressing ESC, preventing selection of a new quest.
Social
The Emote Wheel now updates availability while open, making it clearer when an emote can be used.
UI
Fixed some German localization issues.
Improved the Feeding Rewards section in the Scrappy Nest by removing the empty placeholder tile and clarifying messaging when no rewards are available or still pending.
Fixed an issue where the HUD visibility option wasn't applied correctly at the start of the round.
Fixed an issue where the Show/Hide Tooltip option with a controller in the Logbook stopped working after collapsing and expanding a quest entry.
We know some PC players may experience lower FPS than usual.
While we investigate, please ensure your GPU drivers are up to date, or, if you’re still experiencing the issue, attempt rolling back to a previous driver version.
We are investigating an ongoing issue where some XBOX players (particularly on Series S) are experiencing crashes.
The Quick Wheel item selection may suddenly swap to another item on the Wheel when closing the Quick Wheel and re-opening it quickly.
The Dolabra, Hullcracker and Rascal do not deal damage to training dummies on Practice Range.
The throw animation may sometimes fail to play when attempting to detonate a Trigger ‘Nade immediately after throwing it.
Some gadgets and throwables lack a “Cancel” button when preparing to throw them.
The weapon swap animation may appear broken if weapon swapping right after vaulting.
Player animations may appear broken when interrupting a search of the Baron Husk.
Shredders float to the ceiling in some rooms of the Hidden Bunker.
Leapers can jump through the ARC Turbine.
Occasionally, the Access Capacitor Rack may spawn without interactable batteries.
When picking up items, the pickup sound may not be the correct one.
When bringing items that give Merits with you into a Raid, the items will wrongfully display a Merits icon.
Shots taken while riding ARC may not register correctly.
After a player is revived, some Augments’ health restoration effects no longer pause when taking damage.
Some doors may allow player flashlights’ beams to pass through instead of blocking the emitted light.
Some hairstyles may clip through the Reaver Outfit helmet.
The Saltwalker outfit preview in the Forgotten Relics page may incorrectly contain two toggles for each element.
We are aware of some clipping issues with the Triumph and Azimuth outfits.
Old Ermal offers may appear to be available in the 'Acquire and Craft' menu (visual only).
We know Topside can sometimes be dangerous and unpredictable (which is why we love it), but nobody’s a fan of Raiders finding ways to get unfair advantages.
Since our May update on Ensuring Fair Play, we’ve been striving to provide steady updates on how the fight against players who seek unfair advantages is going. Today, we’re taking a moment to recap everything we’ve been up to, and to provide some additional details.
Over the past few weeks, we’ve completed our rollout of Denuvo Anti-Cheat. It is now enforced for all players, and the results we’ve seen so far have been promising.
Thanks to the efforts of our anti-cheat team, we are continuously getting more effective at identifying & acting against cheaters.
These improvements are the product of constant refinements to our anti-cheat stack (hardware & software detection, ML-driven input telemetry analysis and much, much more).
Like with anti-cheat, we are always working against duplication exploits. We’re keeping a close eye on the game economy, and constantly catalogue, investigate and seek to counteract exploits.
Recently, we’ve fixed some exploits related to duplication. We always want to make sure fixes are widely effective, so we make sure to monitor and evaluate our success before sharing that progress with you.
Sometimes, going into a high-value map condition and encountering raiders with free kits can also feel unfair. Since 1.33.0, we have introduced the experimental “No Free Loadout” requirement for Night Raid and Close Scrutiny. We’ve seen your reactions, and we’re taking your feedback into account.
We are looking into expanding “No Free Loadout” to more map conditions and investigating other opportunities to further improve the experience overall. We really appreciate the feedback you have been sharing in the survey from last week and we will keep you in the loop once we have new changes for you to try.
There is yet more work to be done, of course. When we can, we want to share more of our progress on all of these initiatives. As you may have noticed, you now receive an in-game Action Notice when we’ve taken action against someone you reported. We’re also continuing to compensate for loot lost to cheaters, regardless of whether you reported them or not. These are separate parts of the same system. We will continue to provide progress updates when we can, and we’re thankful for your efforts in reporting and informing us about unlawful behavior.
See you Topside,
//Ossen

There are two new colour variants (Blue Frost and Camo) for the Bogwalker Set available at the shop now. If you already own the set, you will get them automatically.
If you're almost done with the Expedition requirements but lack a Sirena Dorata ship model or two, good news! Ermal has some in stock this week (offers go live at 4AM PDT / 1 PM CEST).
We have completed our rollout of Denuvo Anti-Cheat to all players. We’re keeping a close eye on its impact and performance. We are working on a more extensive update on our efforts towards fair play, which we’ll share as soon as it’s ready.

The fourth Expedition is almost here, and it’s bringing some exciting changes. Each Expedition we run, we learn something new and look for ways to make improvements. This time around, that means shaking things up with an updated reward structure.
Complete your fourth Expedition to earn the first level of the new Zenith Outfit. Prove yourself with the Expedition Challenge and instead of Skill Points, you’ll earn Blueprints to jumpstart your Topside adventures and Raider Tokens to keep you looking sharp every step of the way.
The departure window will be open between the 7th of July 1pm CEST/11am UTC/4am PT and the 21st of July 10am CEST/8am UTC/1am PT. You will have 14 days to sign up and complete the requirements and all players who have signed up will depart automatically.
As with all previous Expeditions, completing your Caravan does not count as signing up for the Expedition, you still have to sign up during the window. The ‘last call’ feature will also be active during this Expedition in case you miss the window.
Expeditions are a personal progression that players complete in order. The Caravan can be completed in between Expedition windows but finishing the Expedition can only be done during the scheduled Expedition window.
Complete the Caravan The option to contribute to the Caravan starts as soon as you complete the previous Expedition and if this is your first Expedition, you can start contributing right away.
Wait for the Expedition Window The next window opens on July 7th at 1pm CEST/11am UTC/4am PT and closes on July 21st at 10am CEST/8am UTC/1am PT.
Sign Up Once the Expedition window opens, you need to sign up.
Complete the Challenge In order to get the rewards, players will need to complete a challenge within the Expedition Window (more details below).
Catch Up Catch up on missed skill points (max 5 per Expedition) for players on their second, third or fourth Expedition (more details below).
Depart Everyone that signed up departs on July 21st at 10am CEST/8am UTC/1am PT.
The rewards depend on your personal progression which means that if you’re doing your first, second or third Expedition, you can check your rewards here.
Players embarking on their fourth Expedition will no longer earn Skill Points from the Expedition Challenge. Instead, you'll receive Blueprints and Raider Tokens, delivered after your departure.
The number of rewards you receive is based on damage dealt during the departure window, using the same thresholds as the previous Expedition. Note that unlike Skill Points, these rewards have no catch-up mechanic.
This is the first time we are trying the Mystery Reward system and we will be monitoring it closely to see how it performs and analyse your feedback. As always, we may make changes in the future as we continue to try to improve
To claim all five Bonus Rewards, hit the following damage thresholds before the departure window closes:
Reward 1: Deal 5 000 total damage
Reward 2: Deal 10 000 total damage
Reward 3: Deal 30 000 total damage
Reward 4: Deal 50 000 total damage
Reward 5: Deal 100 000 total damage
Blueprints
Each completed departure objective rewards you with one Blueprint. Keep in mind that these Blueprints are temporary and will reset when you depart on your next Expedition. The Damage Challenge rewards are safeguarded against duplicates, meaning you won't receive the same Blueprint twice. However, this protection does not extend to the Blueprints you have carried over in Ermal's Vault.
List of potential Blueprints:
Heavy Gun Parts Blueprint
Complex Gun Parts Blueprint
Padded Stock Blueprint
Extended Barrel III Blueprint
Muzzle Brake III Blueprint
Stable Stock III Blueprint
Vertical Grip III Blueprint
Venator Blueprint
Rascal Blueprint
Osprey Blueprint
Trailblazer Blueprint
Anvil Blueprint
Bettina Blueprint
Hullcracker Blueprint
Tempest Blueprint
Vulcano Blueprint
Dolabra Blueprint
Aphelion Blueprint
Combat Augment Mk 3 Flanking Blueprint
Tactical Augment Mk 3 Defensive Blueprint
Looting Augment Mk 3 Safekeeper Blueprint
Looting Augment Mk 3 Survivor Blueprint
Wolfpack Blueprint
Powered Descender Blueprint
Snap Hook Blueprint
Raider Tokens
150 Raider Tokens will be rewarded for completing each departure objective. Unlike Blueprints, they are permanent and will not reset with the next Expedition.
Cosmetics:
Now that the Patchwork Outfit is complete, doing your fourth Expedition will unlock the first step of the Zenith Outfit.
Bonuses:
+12 stash space (48 extra total for 4th Expedition), will be maxed out at 60 with the 5th Expedition.
The bonus skill points from Expeditions cap at 15. Players can still catch-up on previously missed skill points and it’s still tied to stash value. Catch-up for skill points becomes available with your second Expedition and once you get all the maximum 15 skill points, the catch-up is no longer available.
Consecutive buffs are granted to Raiders that continue to do Expeditions in a row. The XP boost, Scrappy materials boost and repair value increase are capped at three levels, meaning that if this is your fourth Expedition in a row, the boosted values will be maintained from your third Expedition but not increased.
Missing an Expedition window doesn’t remove the progress but will result in the buffs not increasing for the next Expedition period. The buff itself is also not active during the period of the missed Expedition.
You need to do two Expeditions in a row in order to increase the buffs which means if this is your third Expedition in a row, you will get all three levels of the consecutive buffs. If you missed one Expedition window apart from the first one, you should have the second level of the consecutive buffs.
You can purchase up to five Expedition Vault Slots through Ermal which allows you to store items that you wish to bring with you on your Expedition.
Just like the previous Expedition, the new Trials Season will start as soon as the Expedition window opens.
We understand the frustration of new players that are only now starting to do their Expeditions. We need to find the right balance of rewarding our veteran players but also give new players fair and fun ways to catch up and not feel like they are always behind. This is a continuous effort and we'll keep you updated as we have more to share.
Let us know what you think of these changes and how they feel in practice and keep up the feedback of what you’d like to see in the future.
See you Topside,

Perhaps they’re willing to share what they know - but first, you’ll need to build some trust. Head Topside to recover and bring back supplies and forgotten relics for the nomads, and secure safe passage for travelers along dangerous routes.

A note on live updates:
As we communicated in our blog about the changes to how we update ARC Raiders, live updates are going to work just a little differently from what you’re used to. We plan to deliver a live update every three weeks. These will vary in size and scope, but we will use each one as an opportunity to address your feedback. In between these live updates, we will still be updating and hotfixing when needed, with store and Trials rotations every week. We believe that this process will give us the time and focus we need to make changes that are important to the community.
See you Topside,
//Ossen
You’ve probably seen plenty of discussion about matchmaking in ARC Raiders. We’ve been reading it too - and we want to bring some clarity to what the system is trying to do, what it does in practice, and what it doesn’t do.
In the Rust Belt, the kind of Raider you become should be up to you.
Topside works because it’s unpredictable. You can never be sure if you can trust the people you meet, or how dangerous they might be. That freedom - and the uncertainty it creates - is what drives the tension, the encounters, and the choices that make every run feel like its own story.
At the same time, we don’t want dedicated PvP players to consistently steamroll Raiders who aren’t as interested in PvP, or who are still finding their footing. So our matchmaking is built around two goals:
Fairness: We do our best to match players who have a similar likelihood of succeeding in the round. One simple example: we prioritize matching equal squad sizes where possible.
Enjoyment: We do our best to match players who are likely to have fun together. In practice, we’ve found that matching players based on playstyle drives enjoyment and reduces friction.
And like any matchmaking system, we pursue those goals while respecting real constraints, such as matchmaking time and latency.
We take multiple factors into account when forming a lobby. One of the strongest is your playstyle across previous rounds, especially as it relates to how you engage with other Raiders.
It’s important to understand that playstyles aren’t binary. This isn’t “friendly” vs. “shoot on sight.” It’s a continuous scale.
Some Raiders are almost always cooperative.
Some Raiders are highly engaged in PvP.
Most Raiders fall somewhere in between - maybe friendly until threatened, maybe opportunistic, maybe cautious, maybe unpredictable on a bad day.
Our system tries to place you with players who sit closer to you on that scale, while still keeping Topside from becoming completely predictable.
There are two simple rules to how playstyle-based matchmaking behaves:
Similarity is more likely, not guaranteed. You have a higher chance of being matched with Raiders whose past playstyle is similar to yours - and a lower chance of being matched with Raiders whose playstyle is very different. But there is no hard guarantee.
Your behavior shapes your future lobbies - gradually. If you change how you play, the kinds of Raiders you tend to meet will gradually shift over time. Your behavior influences what’s most likely - but never locks you into a single experience.
This is why we see such a wide range of interactions Topside: Raiders forming impromptu musical bands and others vibing along; strangers lending a hand in a tough moment while scavengers thrive on remains; betrayals when you least expect them and justice when you need it most; firefights that start on sight - and negotiations that end with everyone walking away.
Some outcomes are rarer than others - but they’re all part of what makes each round a unique adventure. This isn’t a full-blown attempt to segregate playstyles. Topside wouldn’t be Topside if it didn’t throw you a curveball every now and again. We want you to have fun - but danger always lurks, and you will still meet Raiders who surprise you.
We want to keep some level of mystery in matchmaking, because unpredictability is part of the experience - but we can clear up a few common myths:
There are not only two kinds of lobbies - friendly and aggressive. It’s a scale, not two buckets. Most players land somewhere between the extremes, and matchmaking is more likely to pair you with Raiders whose playstyle is similar to yours on that scale - without guaranteeing a specific outcome every round.
One shot or kill does not immediately put you in “PvP-focused” lobbies. Matchmaking isn’t meant to overreact to single moments - it looks at patterns over time, and changes tend to be gradual rather than instant.
There are no “PvE-only” lobbies/servers where other Raiders will never attack you. Topside always carries risk. You may trend toward meeting Raiders with similar preferences, but there’s no guarantee you’ll never be attacked by another Raider.
Your end-of-round feedback does not affect matchmaking. The survey is valuable for us when we look at trends and make design decisions, but it isn’t used as a “next lobby” lever.
Your loadout does not affect matchmaking. Matchmaking isn’t driven by your kit, and we don’t scale lobby difficulty based on how much your loadout costs.
Patches and updates don't reset your matchmaking profile. Your playstyle history carries over across patches. You may notice slightly rougher matches in the first few minutes after an update - that's just because the pool is small while players are still updating - but it recovers quickly as more Raiders come online.
Looting knocked-out players doesn't affect your matchmaking. Matchmaking looks at how you engage with other Raiders, not what you do with their gear afterward.
We don’t matchmake based only on the squad leader. Each member influences the squad profile - the leader has no special weight compared to their squadmates.
Turning crossplay on or off does not impact the level of cooperation / PvP in the round. Changing crossplay changes who’s in the matchmaking pool (and thanks to that, the matchmaking time), but it doesn’t guarantee the tone of your encounters.
Based on community feedback, we've identified two major shortcomings in how we used to estimate playstyle - and both are getting addressed:
1. Defending yourself is no longer treated the same as starting a fight. Previously, your playstyle didn't capture whether you started a PvP encounter or merely defended yourself. This meant cautious Raiders could be treated as more PvP-focused than they actually are. Now, the two are treated differently.
2. Low-activity rounds carry less weight in your playstyle history. Rounds with little Topside interaction - like spawning and surrendering - used to impact player’s estimated playstyle more than expected. Reducing their weight helps the system reflect how you genuinely play when you're out there making choices.
These are live now, and we'll keep tuning them as we see how they play out.
To sum it up: we’re committed to making Topside more fair, more fun, and more rewarding - without sanding off the edges that make ARC Raiders what it is.
Play how you want to play. Over time, your behavior helps shape the kinds of Raiders you’re most likely to encounter. But there will always be room for the unexpected.

Raiders,
Anti-cheat at Embark is a studio-wide effort that protects every player across our games. With ARC Raiders Riven Tides now live, we wanted to share where things stand, what we're building, and how we think about and solve the harder problems when it comes to fair play in ARC Raiders.
Our anti-cheat stack combines kernel-level protection from Easy Anti-Cheat with detection capabilities powered by machine-learning (ML) models, trained on a constant flow of player telemetry. Several additional layers sit behind these, which we don't disclose for operational security.
Kernel-level detection is a necessity because most commercial cheats operate within that space. Without it, we'd have little to no visibility into the tools doing the most damage. We're currently testing a new kernel-level solution that we expect will sharpen both detection and precision throughout Speranza and the Rust Belt.
On the ML side, input telemetry analysis has become one of our most effective tools. We've trained and deployed a set of models dedicated to this, and we've been working with Anybrain on this research since the start.
Managing accessibility devices is one of the harder problems in anti-cheat. Players who rely on this equipment need to be able to play, and because official solutions are expensive, players often use lesser-known devices to achieve the same goal. Of course, in the wrong hands, these tools can also be used to cheat.
The signal we care about is intent. Our systems analyze telemetry and communication patterns to distinguish legitimate accessibility use from abuse, so players who depend on these devices to play can keep playing. This is a process that continues to be refined, but we’re dedicated to the work and the results we’ve seen thus far.
Official devices from major platforms are well known and common, so we’re able to detect them with accuracy and understand the intent behind their use. Our partners at Anybrain are constantly expanding on their knowledge of various accessibility hardware, helping us detect more and refine the use cases, making our ML detection smarter, more reliable, and more accessible with time.
Every ban appeal is reviewed by a person on our team. The process isn't automated, and we keep refining it as we learn more about the cases that come through. A fair and accurate appeals process matters to us across every game we make, and we treat it as a permanent area of investment rather than a finished system.
While it may be frustrating to wait for an answer and to get the pre-written responses that our agents need to use in order to maintain consistency, we look into each case to ensure fair gameplay and to test and refine the systems and models that have been put in place to keep the game fair and fun.
Stay tuned for more updates from us in the near future!
Until then, we’ll see you Topside! (We’ve got eyes everywhere) The Anti-cheat Team
Raiders! Patch 1.27.0 is rolling out right now, so please restart your game to download it.

We’ve patched some of the more frequent causes for crashes.
We’ve fixed an issue that caused certain backpacks to be missing color variations.
Thanks for the fast feedback! Keep scouring the coast!
The Riven Tides Update is the sixth free content update from ARC Raiders since launch, and expands the world of the Rust Belt with the new coastal Riven Tides map, new ARC Turbine, new Beachcombing minor map condition, alongside a new player event, a player project, quality of life updates and more.
NEW MAP: RIVEN TIDES
On the western coast of the Rust Belt lies a stretch of deserted shoreline. This location has been abandoned twice: once during the Exodus, and once again by survivors of the First Wave, who failed to hold down the exposed settlement against ARC. From the fading resort to the towering dockyard, stake your claim and discover what treasures lie within.
NEW ENEMY: ARC TURBINE
Almost beautiful when silhouetted against the sunset, the ARC Turbine drifts across the Rust Belt. Calm, docile, quiet. That is until you get up close. Nobody knows quite what it’s doing, but if you try to interfere, you best be ready for a totally unique fight. Its defensive abilities are brutal, posing a new challenge to Raiders and demanding skill, patience, and nerves in equal measure.
NEW MINOR MAP CONDITION: BEACHCOMBING
Riven Tides introduces a new minor map condition: Beachcombing. Keep an eye out for the Dockmaster's Detector during a session and sweep it across the sand to uncover buried loot hidden beneath the surface. What you dig up will vary, just keep in mind that the richest hunting grounds are out in the open…
NEW ITEMS: CRASH MAT AND POWERED DESCENDER
Getting from A to B is never an easy feat in the Rust Belt, but it’s even harder when A is 100 feet high and B is the hard, splatty ground. With two new fall mitigation items, skillful Raiders can learn to defy gravity, as long as they remain focused.
NEW EVENT: LAST RESORT
Running through to May 25, the Last Resort event rewards you with Merits as your XP converts during play on any map. For bonus gains, hunt down miniature Ship Models hidden throughout the world, each one carrying a Merit value based on rarity. Rack up enough Merits to unlock three pages of rewards, including the Junior Outfit, Hydrologist backpack, Hose attachment, Brass Faucet charm, new emotes, and 250 Raider Tokens in total.
NEW RAIDER PROJECT: AVIAN ALARM
The new Avian Alarm Raider project tasks you with building Bird Cages as a makeshift security system to sense tremors and atmospheric changes, deploying cages at buoys along the Riven Tides coastline. Work through all five stages to earn the Dockmaster's Detector (your key to Beachcombing), Gel Patches, the Bird House backpack attachment, the Fist In Air emote, and 250 Raider Tokens in total.
NEW COSMETICS
Riven Tides brings a wave of new cosmetics, starting with two sets available on launch day. The Solare Set drapes you in ceremonial layers and woven fabrics, fitting attire for those who greet the sunrise like a ritual. The Rachetta Set throws subtlety overboard: bold colors, an athletic cut, and zero interest in camouflage for Raiders who rely on speed over stealth.
See you beachside, Raiders!
Raiders,
Scout reports have been returning from Riven Tides. Fragments of observation logs, faded photographs, and footage of the coast have finally made their way back to Speranza.
It’s now time for you to check it out for yourself. Explore the abandoned shoreline, traverse the Exodus port, and experience the lost luxury of the Panorama Azzurro hotel.
This is the Rust Belt, and it’s not going to be easy. Other Raiders are already on the scent of fresh loot, and a new floating ARC machine has been seen patrolling the skies. What it’s doing, and how to counter it, is for you to find out.

New Augment: Tactical Mk.3 (Smoke)
Dev note: With the addition of another Tactical Augment in this patch it is worth stating that we are aware that some Augments, particularly the Combat Augments, are not performing as well in their roles as we would like. We are working on a general balancing pass for Augments to buff some of those that are underperforming, most especially the Combat Mk. 3 (Flanking) Augment which has yet to find its place to shine. It is also a goal to develop the full roster of Augments to ensure that all categories are well represented.

Repairing changes
Bettina Buff
Weapon Economy Adjustments
The weapon economy has increasingly started looking more and more unbalanced, where players engaging in heavy PVP have to make a lot of difficult decisions around their weapons while the most friendly players have ended up in a chronic state of weapon accumulation. We want to balance this out so that all players are challenged by weapon attrition, as well as introducing new ways to combat it.
New feature: Repair on upgrade
Weapon upgrading becomes very expensive when you feel like you have to repair the weapon beforehand, making it less accessible than we would like. To give more ways to repair low durability weapons and elevate the upgrade loop:
Upgrading weapons will now repair 25% of the weapons max durability
Weapon drop & durability
We're reducing weapon spawn around the outskirts of the maps to increase value and tension of high tier areas and locked rooms.
We're also increasing the range of durability a weapon can spawn with, as well as reducing the average outside of locked rooms. This should be easily recouped by the new repair on upgrade.
Avg durability on spawned weapons: 50 -> 30
These changes mean that you might find a weapon on the outskirts with 15 durability but will still find weapons around 60 durability in locked rooms.
Weapon durability loss on shot
We've heard a clear frustration that maintaining high tier weapons is very expensive compared to the lower tier ones. We want high tier weapons to have more longevity compared to low tier weapons, so we're adjusting durability loss on shot to match this:
Common weapons: +75% durability loss on shot
Uncommon weapons: +50% durability loss on shot
Rare weapons: +35% durability loss on shot
Epic weapons: -5% durability loss on shot
Legendary weapons: -10% durability loss on shot
Weapon durability loss on being knocked out
We want heavy PVP to be a viable way to play ARC Raiders, and to align this playstyle with other ways to play, we're reducing durability loss on weapons when a player is knocked out by 50%.
Durability loss on weapons of knocked out player: -30% durability -> -15% durability
ARC
Removed Comets from standard sessions in the Dam Battlegrounds.
Reduced Firefly presence heavily in Dam Battlegrounds.
Reduced Comet presence in Buried City.
Dev note: The addition of Comets and Fireflies raised the difficulty in beginner-oriented sessions a bit too much, and to bring that experience back to the intended level we opted to reduce their presence in the sessions that were affected the most.
Gameplay
Stella Montis
Adjusted Exodus recyclables loot distribution to be more evenly spread across containers.
Items
Vaporizer Regulator
Stack size increased 1 -> 3
Trigger 'Nade
Dev Note: You can no longer throw a new grenade at the same time as triggering a previously thrown one, and will instead have to wait for the animations to finish. This should reduce Trigger 'Nade spam by increasing the delay between each grenade, and effectively remove the ability to prematurely detonate a second grenade with the first one.
Added a 1s delay after using the throw action, before allowing the next throw/trigger action
Added a 1.3s delay after using the trigger action, before allowing the next throw/trigger action
Photoelectric Cloak
Increasing weight of Photoelectric Cloak from 1 -> 3 to bring it more in line with its rarity/cost.
Increased Power use rate from 2.5/s to 10/s
Dev Note: The Photoelectric Cloak has been quite aggressively over-performing, especially in regards to the length of time it can be activated. This change is intended to add more intentionality between uses; it still has the same strength while activated, but now you might need to find cover sooner, or think more about how you approach areas heavily contested by ARC.
Weapons
Bettina Balancing
Dev Note: The Bettina has been buffed to push it closer to its rarity. The base damage and damage against ARC armor has been increased to get more value out of each bullet, but the base fire-rate has also been reduced. The dispersion has been adjusted to support firing the weapon in longer bursts before losing accuracy, and the stack size of heavy ammo has also been increased to make it less punishing to bring the ammo you need. These changes should make each shot matter more, while also providing the ability to land more shots if you control your bursts well.
Base Damage increased from 14 to 16
Base Fire-Rate reduced from 285 to to 235
Per Shot Dispersion reduced by around 40% (Making it bloom slower)
Dispersion Recovery Time improved by around 30%
Damage against ARC armor increased by around 33%
Heavy Ammo
Stack Size increased from 40 to 60
