Ant Queen news & patch notes

Hi everyone Have a look at this video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJq83vvWB60&feature=youtu.be All units now have a Health bar and a Food bar. If a unit is missing health, they get get food from a unit an part of the food becomes health. if a unit is missing food, they go take it from a replete ant or the queen. A unit cannot work if it has 0 food. The game can be speed up 3 times. Saving/loading is 100% done Tutorial has 7 parts so far I bought the sounds and i'm working on the Music Manager next build should have the sounds The game still has a bug here or there, but it's playable! Most of the bugs a specific situations like, the player jumps over the fence if he climbs rocks and trees. Alpha testers are killing, by the way!!! They are really helpful Cheers

Alpha has launched and the feedback is very positive! I'm having a really good time exchanging and communicating with testers. So far, I got people I know trying out the game. At Some moment I will switch to beta and invite more players. Players who are helping me out are going to have their names in the credits. The game keeps growing! I'm implementing a lot of new ideas and past suggestions in the game. THINGS LIKE: - Units now have a health bar AND a food bar. In nature ants store food in their abdomen that they can after share with other ants that are in need. When a worker brings back food to the colony, he finds a replete or the queen and gives the food in the storing ant. This food is later use to get health back or use to feed the eggs and larva. - The player can only see his colony when underground. I added a very nice fog that matches the underground that prevents form seeing to infinity. The player can also only zoom out as far as he as dug + a reasonable player distance. - The player can start Quests! There's a Panel that allows to start different quests. Things like : Summon 3 spiders and kill them in 3 minutes, Or : prevent all beetles from reaching the other side. Funs stuff!! - A very descriptive Tutorial allowing new players to fully grasp everything that can be done. It's a step by step tutorial with unlockable zones. WORK IN PROGRESS - balance units - balance the economy - 90 % of saving/loading has been completed. Not certain of i will allow eggs to be saved, because of cheating. - Sound and music is at 0%. Im still looking for a good soundtrack, unit and ambient sounds have been found and they sound very good. Thank you

The game is now network ready, two players can build their colony and each ant created is not controllable by the opposing player. I made sure to make it secure. Basically preventing any weird person from trying to control non-authorited game object. Digging is also replicated on both sides. When a Dig action has been commanded, some ground "blocks" are created and the players needs to clean his colony if he wants to dig further in the direction. The player needs to first set a zone where he would like ants to drop dirt blocks and the "Cleaning " will start. (Player needs to in FPS view to dig his colony.). At the moment ants don't dig alone, player needs to expand his colony and workers will come "Clean". I programmed the ground blocks to be controllable only by the player who dug them also. I think that it could cause game logic issues if any player can contro digging dirt blocks form opposing nest in an advance game. You can have a look at the FPS view and at the RTS view int the pictures. I also replaced the dummy ants i was using with some ants i found. Dear players, I would like to let you all know that i'm presently learning the magic of Multiplayer video gaming. A big demand from players was to have a multiplayer mode where you can play agains other players! This last 3 months i have been working, learning the multiplayer platform and making a new game. The reason for the update break of Ant Queen. I really had to take a break from working on this projet. Making an RTS game is THE most difficult game to programme and making an Online Multiplayer RTS is just programming set to God Mode. I'm planning on finishing the game i'm working on - Aetherios - and after that Restart from scratch Ant Queen ( 3D ) and having it be a solid multiplayer game. Fixed the Steam Achivements bug Npc's killed by other npc and not form the player where sending information to the Steam Achivement Manager.... It's fixed and works well now! Queen- -If the player has more green ants than other types, the queen's skin will match. -Green Queen Achivement works above a value of green ants. - When the sandbox start and the players is faster than one second to lay an egg, the spawnpoint has not changing fast enough. Now it does! Thanks and have fun

A lot of things are being saved and this is causing some trouble depending on the computer of the player is using. I think it's going to work better, but maybe-still some problems might happen. Hi all!! this saturday I was a the MIGF ( Montrel Independent Game Festival ) and it was so much fun! A lot of people showed up, I had a stand to let people try out the game and they jsut loved it! Some people actually voted Ant Queen as their favorite!!! So thank you again for the great support. All of this is possible thanks to all the players that keep helping me to fix and upgrade the game. About this patch 3.3 Story Mode : - The Queen should stop moving in randomize destinations - Level 1 - The collider that makes the game succesfull was too small. It will detect more easily when the queen reaches the hole. - Level 2 - The Path finding was too precise and some ants where getting stuck in the inside colony. Should not happen anymore - Level 19 - The Ui Icon to get outside the red ant colony were acting weird... replaced them with what the should be. Unlimited / Sandbox: - Queen starts with 100Hp in easy, 80 in Medium,50 in hard - Easy mode is easier. Red ants spawning rate is slower and they do less damage Thanks again and let me know i f you see something Next patch - fix the achivement system fixed - Unlimited NPC spawn rate nerf

Fixed a lot level 7 Auto-attack Intervals of soldiers is shorter, they are more autonomous Spawning intervals of yellow caterpillars is shorter. More food! Fixed some scripts that might have been causing some crashes. Next patch will add the survival mode option Cheers

Hi community and players, We are continuing our frequent updates and giving a player a wish : a more costly but yet more powerful ant type - the green ants ! Also, we did crushed some bugs, as appropriate for ants masterz, and made minor adjustments to both the story mode and the sandbox : - blue, red and yellow ants are 25% more expensive - green ants are an additional 25% compared to other ants - we added a UI cue for ants' costs - the new patrol system is now also available in story mode - workers use less CPU and memory while doing the same job (good efficient workers is what a Queen likes !) - achievements have been added for the green ants - music has been added for the sandbox mode TODO : - add survival mode to the sandbox (with scoring) - balance green ants compared to the rest REQUEST TO PLAYERS : a player has noticed a crash at the end of level 15 in story mode that would be due to garbage collection (GC error message) : - we would appreciate any player encountering it sending a PM or a comment here - any player that would feel like testing it, we would love to get feedback if it happens to you We hope you continue enjoy the game, do not hesitate to post comment and suggestions as usual !
