Full Steam announcements and update articles for this title.
Hello, this is Wayway.
After a long development journey, Aksun will launch in Steam Early Access on July 21 at 10:00 AM GMT.
The Early Access version includes:
Aksun’s core combat and chain-reaction systems
Multiple playable weapons
A variety of Artifacts and build combinations
Permanent and run-based progression systems
Multiple areas, enemies, elite encounters, and bosses
The main gameplay systems that will form the foundation of the full release
Aksun is not yet complete. The Early Access version does not include:
The complete story
All planned chapters and areas
The final boss and ending
The full selection of weapons, Artifacts, enemies, and bosses
The final level of balancing, optimization, and polish
Throughout Early Access, we will continue improving the game based on player feedback.
The Early Access base price has been set approximately 20–30% lower than the planned full-release price. We hope this gives more players the opportunity to experience Aksun early and join us as we continue developing the game. The price is expected to increase when Aksun reaches version 1.0, reflecting the additional content and improvements introduced during Early Access.
During Early Access, we plan to add:
Final boss chapter
New enemies, new encounters
Additional weapons
New progression and build options
Story content, including the final chapter and ending
Combat improvements, balance updates, optimization, and quality-of-life features
More information about the upcoming content and our development plans can be found in the Early Access Roadmap announcement
We sincerely appreciate everyone who played the demo and playtests, shared feedback, wishlisted the game, and waited for us throughout development.
This launch is not the end of development. It is the beginning of the next stage of Aksun’s journey.
On July 21, the seal of Aksun will be broken.
Thank you. Wayway
Hello everyone,
Thank you so much for playing the Aksun demo.
Thanks to your support, feedback, streams, reviews, and bug reports, we are now moving into the final preparation stage for Aksun’s Early Access launch, planned for late July.
As part of this transition, the current demo will remain playable until:
Sunday, June 28, 11:59 PM GMT
After that time, the demo will be fully deactivated. This also means that players who have already downloaded the demo will no longer be able to play it until we determine how to bring it back or reshape it after Early Access begins.
This is not the end of the demo journey, but a step toward what comes next. While our focus is on delivering a richer Early Access experience, we are also considering the possibility of reintroducing a more streamlined version of the demo alongside the Early Access release.
The Early Access build will include more content, more polish, improved balance, and many changes based on the feedback we received from players during the demo period. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who spent time with Aksun and helped us shape the game.
We are now focused on making the Early Access release as strong as possible.
Thank you again for your support.
See you in late July.
Wayway Aksun Development Team
We've put together a 2026–2027 Aksun development and launch roadmap just for you. This marks our fourth year of development — so much has happened along the way, and now that release is finally drawing closer, we're feeling both nervous and excited. We hope sharing this roadmap sparks the same anticipation in you for the great journey ahead with Aksun.
We need your feedback! If you remember the initial version of the game, you will see just how much has changed. We take player feedback very seriously—it serves as our compass and often provides the inspiration for entirely new features. Thank you for playing. We truly believe we are building this game together with our community.
Aksun is part of Steam Next Fest, running June 15-22! Our biggest demo update yet is live all week, and we'd love for you to play it and tell us what you think.
New here? Aksun is a hack & slash roguelite rooted in Korean shamanic mythology. You descend through the Six Realms of the dead, chain over 120 elemental artifacts into devastating reactions, and try to break the cursed cycle. It is often compared to Hades, reimagined through Korean folklore.
Run Progression: new flow for how you advance through chapters
Combat Encounters: more varied and intense battles
Narrative+: deeper world-building and story woven into each run
Skill Key Guidance: cleaner onboarding for the Shift mechanic that tripped a lot of you up
Combat Visibility: enemy projectiles and attack ranges are much easier to read now
Basic Options: volume control, windowed mode, and resolution settings are in
Artifact illustrations are currently being updated (working from high rarity to low rarity).
Some images may appear as temporary placeholders.
Please be aware that Demo save data may not carry over to the Early Access or Full Release versions.

We truly believe we are building this game together with our community.
Balanced enemy density and removed enhanced monsters in Normal difficulty to improve early-game progression.
Refined Artifact acquisition mechanics and polished associated Talent systems.
Enhanced VFX and indicator decals for clarity, including boss clear effects and particle layer optimizations.
Various minor UI and UX adjustments, such as menu lockout during boss cinematics and smoother combat transitions.
Resolved various script errors and logic issues related to Bow skills, Skill Experience, and Faith mechanics.
Fixed character movement and collision issues, specifically regarding teleport skills and large monster interactions.
Corrected behavior and scaling issues for several summons and possession-based abilities.
Addressed general system stability issues, including input freezes, combat report cleanup, and build-related errors.
Thank you for playing the Demo ver.0.9.8b. We have recieved a lot of feedbacks and heartwarming reviews from all around. This is helping us so much with the development, the things we should focus on and the things we over thought about. We appreciate it all and we are pushing ourselves to make a better game. Thank you!

The Aksun Playtest branch will officially close on September 3.
However, you will still be able to keep playing the same build through the Aksun Demo branch (already updated). Only your tutorial progress data from the Playtest will be carried over to the Demo build.
Why this change?
We originally planned to update the Demo in mid-September with our roadmap announcement.
But because so many of you requested a build to keep playing, we’ve decided to make the Demo available earlier than expected.
How future builds will work
Each Demo build will first be tested through a closed Playtest.
Then, 4–8 weeks later, it will be made public as the next Demo update.
