Hey everyone!

• Implemented rolling save system - Fixed save game not working properly. Saves no longer become corrupted when using unstuck or falling out of the map. A failsafe has been added that reactivates saving/unstuck when players interact with an object, in case saving does not come back after dialogue/tutorial ends.
• Fixed potential to fall through the map - Fixed some locations where it is possible to fall through the map. Implemented a failsafe when Boris falls through the world the game will fade out, show Boris with a parachute, teleport to the start location and fade in. Combined with save changes this should also prevent corrupt saves in these instances.
• Fixed unstuck breaking Boris’s movement when used during an animation state
• Fixed Boris getting stuck in place when performing interact actions during an animation
• Fixed incorrectly unlocking all scents

We’re currently working hard on a fix and plan to reupload the demo once we have resolved this. Over the last few months lots of things have been happening behind the scenes, and today we’re finally able to share that we’ll be teaming up with the good folks at PQube to release Adorable Adventures on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in early 2026! Woohoo! 🥳🎉 

Finding a publisher has meant that we’ve been able to speed up our development process that little bit faster, so you’ll be able to join Boris on his adventures sooner than you think! To celebrate the announcement of our publishing partnership we’ve created a new gameplay trailer which reveals some never-before-seen areas of the park, while also giving a first glimpse of some of Boris’s wayward brothers and sisters:

Eagle-eyed players will have noticed that we’ve also updated our artwork and logo to really show the amazing work that our animators and artists are doing with Boris. We hope you’ll agree that he’s never looked cuter!! 🥰 

Finally, we’ve just updated the Steam demo so that the camera is now much easier to control, with less automatic behavior for a more natural feel 🎥

Hi everyone,

We are happy to see that so many of you are falling in love with Boris. We wanted to recreate the feeling we had when we encounted young wild boars at the wildlife rescue. They are really resilient, stubborn, playful and just so very cute.

Boris is the hero in the game, but of course there will be his family, and we cannot wait to show you more. For now we wanted to share some wonderful work by virtual photographers, who captured really amazing images from the demo.

On top of that, Boris could use nice way to express himself. So he can now Oink on command. Use L3 or B on your keyboard.

There are some hints in the distant environment of what is going to happen in the full game as well.

We have updated the demo today. The new version has some fixes and some new things:

• Keyboard and mouse support (you can change the sensitivity for the mouse/camera in the options)

• Autosave system (can still save manually)

• Performance improvements for all quality settings

• Localization fixes and repeated phrases for quests

• Fix for steamdeck to automatically set the correct quality

And there is new feature for Boris: he can now oink on command. Press L3 or B to make him go Oink.

Today we have reached the incredible milestone of 50,000 wishlists. On top of that over 30,000 people have downloaded the demo. That’s 30,000 players who’ve taken their first steps into the forest with Boris, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

With this game, we wanted to capture the feeling of walking through the Cevennes National Park near our studio in Montpellier: the joy of discovery, the rustle of leaves, the way the light filters through the trees. And then we met some rescued baby boars at a local wildlife center, and everything clicked. What better way to explore the forest than through the eyes (and nose) of a curious young boar? It’s a gentle, cozy exploration game about growing up, paying attention, and finding your way home.

We are so happy that so many people enjoy this idea.

Thank you for playing the demo, for sharing your thoughts, and for wishlisting the game. It helps more than you know. We’ll have more to share soon. Until then, Boris will keep sniffing, exploring, and maybe causing a little mischief along the way.

Hi Everyone,

We made some further improvements to the demo. In this version (which is now numbered in the menu also), you will find the following improvements:

• Unstuck option in pause menu (When you get stuck somewhere, you can reset your position and continue the game)

• Resolution is now clear, and has better options: full screen is indicated with screen percentage and windowed has selectable resolution

• Some localization bugs fixed, fixed minor issues with sidequests not showing the correct content/state

• Detect when the game is running on SteamDeck and select the correct graphics settings automatically

Thanks for all your feedback so far. We have updated the demo today with a couple of big improvements:

• Sliding has been improved, Boris is less slippery and can more easily navigate the terrain

• UI has been made more responsive

• English voice-over available

We still have some fixes in the works, specifically for getting stuck inside things and resolution issues.

In the previous updates we improved:

• Sidequest pages have completion states

• More robust savegame system

• Performance improvements to achieve more stable framerate

• Camera improvements to avoid camera clipping through ground

• Camera sensitivity by default lowered (can be adjusted in options)

• DirectX12 as option for start

Another day of improvements. The demo has been updated now. In this version:

• Savegame system more robust (NOTE: savegames are NOT compatible now, unfortunately you will need to restart the game)

• Boris should not pass through rocks anymore

• Side quest pages update when completed

• Minor performance improvements

• Minor Level design improvements (less sliding)

In the demo you get a glimpse of Boris' life before the fire as he explores the highlands with his brother. Learning the scents of the plants , helping out his brother, goofing off and finally preparing a new home for the family.

Thank you for your feedback so far! With your feedback we are able to improve the game. ːsteamhappyː

We have made a first update to address some of the issues you have raised:

• Vulkan driver required message should now be gone, and you have the option to select DirectX (Windows) or Vulkan (Steamdeck)

• Camera system has been improved to avoid it going through the ground while running/sliding

• Camera default sensitivity has been lowered to create a more fluid experience by default (but this can be adjusted in options!)

• More responsive in-game UI

• Polished and improved the level layout

Thank you so far. We still have some more changes to do, among which the most important ones:

• stop boris from going into geometry

• robust savegame system

These will be coming asap

In the meantime, we continue to monitor and improve the game, so expect frequent updates.

Here is a short overview of one of the key systems in the game: The Smell System

We wanted to create a system that reveals an unseen world, one that Boris must learn to navigate, just like a child learning to make sense of their surroundings.

So we started building layers of scent: the idea that some scents must be ignored to access others, going deeper and deeper.

Well, there is a lot of variety in the mechanic when we brainstormed it. But as you start to play with a first prototype and you build some situations, new ideas start coming. So now there are smells that are inside of other things or smells that are intermittent. It is fun to come up with lots of situations with the smell system.

🎨 We love keeping things handcrafted! For our in-game icons, we turned to traditional watercolor painting.

Each icon was painted by hand, giving them a unique, organic texture that feels alive in the world of our game.

🌿 It was such a joy experimenting, splattering, and layering colors, and we hope that when you discover these little works of art in-game, you’ll feel some of the same joy we had while creating them. ✨

Hi everyone! We thought we'd continue to share some of the behind the scenes content to show you how we are progressing, and how we're building the game.

Over on our social channels there are already videos on how we built the movement for Boris, the scent mechanic and how we're animating him.

We shared some of the process for developing the look of the game, with a realistic yet authored feel. We would like the forest to 'feel' like the forests we visited, rather than look exactly like it.

And today we have a more technical look at how we're building a particular asset: the dandelion.

We like the environment to feel alive, like you can almost touch it. Well, you can touch it through Boris of course. So when he moves through the world, it responds and creates wonderful moments like the dandelions taking off.

We were fortunate to sit down with Jason from So Many Games and discuss Adorable Adventures.

He asked us many interesting questions, from how we are developing the game, to how the mechanics actually work and what the ideas are behind the game.

Inspired by a nearby national park, we are creating a variety of environments that Boris will explore.

After the forest from the announce trailer, we are now showing off the highlands.

Besides using his nose, Boris is always looking for fun activities and toys to play with even when sometimes they are just out his reach. He will scramble to get there.
