Thank you for the overwhelming support since the release of ABYSSAL BLADE! This game began as a passion project by two brothers who love high-level MMO raiding and wanted to recreate that experience in a bite-size yet challenging single-player format. Something anyone could pick up at an affordable price and still enjoy the thrill of blind-progging a raid tier.
I want to thank everyone who has shared our title across the indie, boss-rush, and FFXIV raiding communities. With no publisher and no ties to major journalists or large creators, we’re thrilled to have reached our personal milestone of 1,000 copies sold in just over a week. So far, we’ve been fortunate to see some notable names in the FFXIV scene stream our game, and we’re deeply grateful to those creators and their communities for spreading the word about ABYSSAL BLADE.
My brother and I have watched nearly every stream or VOD on Twitch and YouTube, read every Steam review, and loved seeing every player tackle the mechanics at their own pace. We are so thankful for all the support you’ve shown over the past week. As our first project published on a major platform like Steam, your positive energy motivates us to keep creating for this wonderful gaming community.

Thank you for supporting ABYSSAL BLADE! It's been one week since release and we have been excited as more and more people experience our game. Thus, patch 1.0.2 is focused on expanding our reach and enabling more systems to run the game without crashing.
The macOS build is now available! Before buying, please download the free demo to confirm it runs smoothly on your machine. The game requires a Mac with at least an M1 chip; for optimal performance, we recommend an M2 or newer.
Some players reported crashes at launch or heavy lag on the title screen. We traced the problem to older GPUs and integrated graphics, which struggled with our default, high-end renderer (Vulkan Forward+). To resolve this, we’ve added a Compatibility Mode designed to let those systems run the game more smoothly. If your game had been running smoothly previously, please continue to use the Recommended launch. We hope to hear any feedback regarding the new launch option!
Fixed issue where boss HP % label would sometimes incorrectly show 100% despite it being lower
Changed name of 'Slash' and 'Cleave' to 'Light ATK' and 'Heavy ATK', respectively, in Controls (hopefully this provides greater clarity on the difference between the two attacks)
Added tutorial pop-up the first time you use an attack input to inform the player that they can hold the attack inputs to continue attacking (to prevent figure fatigue lol)
Fixed issue where player could Alt-F4 after dying to a boss mechanic and not incur a death
Thank you for supporting ABYSSAL BLADE! We are super excited to hear all of the feedback. Since launch, we have encountered some bugs and have been working to address them.
If you encounter any additional bugs, please let us know in our Discord. That would be greatly appreciated. Now onto the patch notes for 1.0.1!
Fixed issue where an achievement wasn't being rewarded despite choosing the "Bad Ending"
Fixed issue where Vanquishing Slash damage would not register near the outside of the hitbox in Acceptance
Fixed issue where progress gems were displayed incorrectly on the Load Data screen
Fixed issue where some SFX were too quiet or muted during several cutscenes
Fixed issue where, in a rare case, the Orb Buff in Depression doesn't get used, resulting in an extra buff
We received some reports that the game would immediately crash on launch, or, in some rare cases, be playable with extreme lag. We looked into this issue further and found that our build is not yet optimized for integrated GPUs and older graphics cards.
We are working on an alternative launch option for Compatibility Mode in hopes of giving these users a different mode to launch our game. Stay tuned!
Pick it up for 20% off ($3.99) for the next two weeks!

Thank you for all the encouragement and kind remarks since we unveiled ABYSSAL BLADE and launched the demo featuring DENIAL, the first boss. However, the most frequent request we heard was “where’s controller support!?”
Well, we jumped on it, and we’re happy to say the wait is over.
Xbox and PlayStation controllers now work!
Steam Deck compatibility has also been verified.
Our demo has been updated to include controller support. Let us know how it feels. Your feedback is crucial to helping us improve the game!
We look forward to release on June 20. Stay tuned!
